THE NOTES FOR NOTES SONIC STATEMENT There will be a future where all youth who desire to experience producing music will have the opportunity. There will be no barriers to what, how, why or when they create the music they desire. Music will be the catalyst that helps them discover an identity and a path. Notes for Notes will be the first door they walk through in every community that embraces their desire to begin a musical journey. The studio is the environment, music is the tool, and our focus is helping them build Confidence, Creativity, Compassion, and Community that will prepare them for whatever path they choose.
THE NOTES FOR NOTES MISSION Notes for NotesÂŽ is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with completely FREE access to music instruments, instruction and recording studio environments so that music may become a profoundly positive experience in their lives.
Notes for Notes Studios are packed with guitars, drums, keys/synths, DJ gear, digital music stations and full recording studios offering youth completely FREE access to explore, create, and record music. Our Studios are located inside Boys & Girls Clubs and after-school centers in underserved areas around the country and packed with drums, guitars, keys/synths, DJ gear, groove stations, podcasting and full recording facilities. We believe in freedom of expression and when on the mic (in the safe space of the vocal booth) youth are not censored so as to give them an outlet for their thoughts. It is our mission to help them craft a message artistically that is an authentic expression of what they are experiencing personally. It is this freedom that starts the conversation about their musical, but truly personal identity. At our core we are focused on building relationships and it is through music we have found the most organic and engaging form to do so. Every aspect of our programming from karaoke to creative songwriting to podcasting to remixing leads back to our four pillars of impact: Confidence; Creativity; Compassion and Community. Â
