ELIANA- 1 2 AAAH Eliana helped me out with a track I cooked up by adding vocals over the beat. She had confidence but lacked the lyrics, so I told her to make something up on the spot. She used a combination of counting and clapping to create an energetic and playful hook.
DARYL- SESSION 2 Jannelis and I had a lot of fun trying to chop up Stylistics samples and turn it into a beat using the ableton push. We chopped it across all 64 pads and then tried to see how many fun different patterns we could come up with before adding a backbeat and some keys.

Junny made a bouncy boom bap track with me in the studio, then we got Heila, Junny, and Zayden in the booth to pass around a lighthearted freestyle. They couldn't restrain their laughter as they rapped about going to the pool, liking spaghetti, and the show Naruto. They did great for their first time freestyling.

SAMUEL- ROCK Samuel came into the studio and we had a big conversation about how he found faith in god and turned his life around. He now works hard at his family business and likes to record music with his cousin and friend who produces.

LESSONS ON THE ABLETON PUSH Jaden has been loving working on the DJ setup in the live room, so one day I nudged him towards the production studio to start messing around on the Ableton push. I taught him how to fill out the drum rack, how to record, and how to use the beat repeat feature!
PLAYING AROUND WITH GROOVES Daniel hopped on the drums alongside Jaden on the bass and Emily on the practice pad to start working out some musical ideas. I taught Jaden a simple line to loop while he tried to catch on to Daniel’s Bronx-inspired fast drill groove on the drums.
