Our consumer protection warranty is our promise to you, the original purchaser, that each piece of furniture will be free from manufacturing defects for its useful life, provided the furniture is used in a residential application. All warranty periods begin on the date of delivery to your home. Please be prepared to provide proof of purchase on a warranty claim by keeping your original paperwork.
Frames and Springs: We warrant to you, the original retail purchaser, lifetime protection against manufacturing defects of frames and springs.
Seat Cushions: We fabricate our standard seating from Qualux® Ultra seating foam, which is the highest quality foam available in the upholstered furniture business. We warrant to you, the original purchaser, a lifetime warranty on Qualux® cores against manufacturing defects.
Even though we use the highest performing polyurethane in the industry, some flattening or loss of resiliency will occur as a result of normal use and aging. This is not covered under the warranty. Cushion materials conform to the shape of the user and is not considered to be a manufacturing defect.
Cushion softness or hardness is significantly affected by the type of fabric that surrounds it. Proper maintenance, including frequent seat cushion rotation, will provide longer life and greater durability.
Cushions suspected to be defective must be returned to the factory for industry testing. If it is determined that the cores were not properly cared for or were under extreme abuse, it would void the warranty. If found defective, we will replace at no charge. Handling charges will apply to cushion cores replaced after two years.
Spring Micro-Down & Premiere Specialty Cushions: These cushion types need to be turned regularly. They carry a two year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Comfort Down Cushion: Comfort Down cores will give you the sink-in, relaxed and wrinkled appearance with use. This type of cushion needs to be fluffed and turned regularly, just as with any other down unit. The comfort down core carries a two year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Loose Back Pillows: Most of our furniture styles carry the same back construction of 100% conjugated polyester fiber. These units will need to be fluffed and turned on a regular basis. Loose back pillows carry a two year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Measurements: Our furniture is handcrafted. Measurements in catalog and online are approximate due to variation in padding and fabric thicknesses.
Fabric Warranty: We warrant to you, the original purchaser, fabrics used in covering your furniture with a one year warranty that protects against manufacturing defects.
This fabric warranty does not cover:
• Wearability or color fastness • Fabric pilling*
• Customer ’s own material (C.O.M.) • Fading of fabrics
• Af termarket fabric treatment • “Pillows only ” fabrics
* Pilling is the formation of small balls or clusters of fibers on the fabric’s surface. Pilling is caused by abrasion wear, and can be fibers of the fabric itself or a fabric which has come in contact with it.
Leather Warranty: We warrant to you, the original purchaser, leather used in covering your furniture with a one-year warranty protecting you against manufacturing defects.
The leather warranty does not cover:
• Fading or discoloration of leather due to sunlight (direct or indirect)
• Stretching as leather will stretch slightly during its natural break-in process
• Customer ’s own leather (C.O.L.)
• Natural markings such as variations in grain, wrinkles, skin folds, cleanly healed scars, insect bites or patterns of original hair follicles which document the animal’s life and testify to the leather’s authenticity
• Color variation within our acceptable range
• Change in color due to natural occurrences, such as absorption of body oils or perspiration
• Damage due to improper care, rips, punctures or stains
All fabric and leather warranties are null and void if improperly cleaned.
Mechanisms: We warrant to you, the original retail purchaser, three year protection on reclining, swivel, sleeper, and power mechanisms. Ultra-Mek batteries and charging system have a one year warranty.
Sleeper Mattresses: Our sleep sofa mattresses are warranted directly from the manufacturer, protecting you against any defect in workmanship or materials. Maximum Platinum, our standard mattress, has a 5 year limited warranty. The sleeper mattress upgrades carry a 3 year limited warranty. There is a one year warranty on the Air Dream™ Ultra motor.
Wood Products: We warrant to you, the original retail purchaser, two year protection on all wood trim and chair frames. We warrant our wood furniture products to be free from defects in construction and workmanship under normal household and consumer use. Due to the natural variances in the grains and species of wood, you may notice a difference in the shading and tone of the finish. Please be aware this is not a defect.
Note: This warranty does not cover differences between your furniture and floor samples, swatches, printed illustrations, and video or internet displays. This warranty does not cover purchased display samples but the seller has the warranty information that applies.

Our sleep sofa mattresses are warranted directly from the manufacturer. The Maximum Platinum
mattress, standard on all sleepers, has a 5 year limited warranty, protecting you against any defect in workmanship or materials. See Options section for other mattresses your customer can choose from.
Sleepers will not sit exactly the same as the sofas they match. Sleeper backs must be designed to store part of the sleeper mechanism and mattress, and this creates a back angle that differs slightly from that of the matching sofa. Sleepers also typically sit firmer.
Adjustable TV headrest position allows greater viewing, reading or relaxing comfort. 5 1/4” thick mattress provides plush, comfortable sleeping. Sleeper mechanism folds in and out smoothly. Measurement for an open sleeper is calculated by adding 54” to the overall depth.

The Kim Salmela Collection combines a bold and stylish mix of textures, colors and patterns with fresh seating silhouettes to create a distinctive aesthetic targeted towards a younger audience. The Variations Collection emphasizes flexibility and personalization, offering a wide range of customizable options like arms, backs, seats, and bases, allowing you to create a look that’s uniquely yours—tailored, comfortable, and versatile for any space.
Our furniture is handcrafted. Measurements are approximate due to variation in padding and fabric or leather thicknesses.
Leather hides are only so large and often require more than one to upholster a piece. It is typical that you will see seams on the outside back, arms, back pillows and seat cushions.
“Included Options” can be ordered with your furniture free of charge. “Custom Options” are features that are available with an extra cost. If applicable, wood finish and nailhead colors (under “Specify”) must be selected.
On fabric styles that include an accent pillow, you have the choice to choose a different pillow from a list of selected styles (see throw pillow options section). This change of mood or attitude on your sofa is at no extra charge. Leather styles do not have included throw pillows.
To easily design an arrangement for a particular room, diagrams for each furniture piece are included. They are 1/4” = 1’ scale. Before placing a sectional order, be sure the pieces selected fit the room dimensions.
Seat cushions on styles ordered in leather or vinyl are not reversible. The special bottom fabric covering allows cushions to breathe. A fastener tape, similar to Velcro®, is sewn on the bottom of each leather or vinyl cushion which adheres to the decking material of the piece. This makes the cushion(s) fit nicely and not move around. Some loose back pillows will also have this feature.

Our furniture is handcrafted. Measurements are approximate due to variation in padding and fabric or leather thicknesses.
Leather hides are only so large and often require more than one to upholster a piece. It is typical that you will see seams on the outside back, arms, back pillows and seat cushions.

The reclining mechanisms, including the power mechanisms, have a three year warranty to the original purchaser. The Ultra-Mek batteries and charging system (style 301) have a one year warranty.

A black painted metal bed frame can be ordered with the upholstered headboard. Metal bed frames can be attached to any headboard in the Sleep Solutions section.
These are CraftLock® frames of durable high strength angle iron, featuring the Wedge-Lock system, six metal legs and plastic protective end caps. The double-rail center support rail prevents the box spring foundation from sagging in the middle. If the customer is using a different bed frame brand, especially with a two-piece foundation, make sure that it has a center support.

Our standard finishes in updated tones incorporate hand-rubbing for added richness and depth. A translucent mottling effect found with Sierra Dappled and Filbert Dappled involves a finishing technique trending in cabinetry and case goods lines. Tobacco, Smoke and Sierra finishes are also available with distressing, providing a rustic or reclaimed look.
NOTE: Lighter finishes like Beachwood, Big Sur and Hickory will show natural wood markings like grain and knots.
The painted finishes include warm pigments, sleek neutrals and vibrant hues. For an unexpected twist on classic frames, these bright finishes add a burst of color and freshness.

Premiere Back - Has the look and feel of natural down.
With a fill of 100% Micro/fiber, the Premiere back pillow has an overall down feel but the reliability of a synthetic fiber. The Premiere back matched with the Premiere cushion allows uniform comfort on the style.

Individually-pocketed Marshall coils. Composed of carbon steel wire, these indivual pocket coils are placed by hand in the unit. This method provides a superior range of motion within the seat, creating a truly custom feel.
Sizes may vary due to differences in stuffing density and fabric thicknesses. Filled sizes are approximate measurements of the pillow after it is stuffed. All pillows have a zipper closure. Feather & Down pillows are 95% feather and 5% down. (Most pillows have insert options. A fiber filled pillow can be upgraded to Feather & Down or Premiere insert for an upcharge.)
Pillows ordered in a plaid or stripe will match themselves. Centered patterns will be centered on each side. When ordered in combination, cover 1 includes welt.

List the overall fabric number first and the contrasting welt fabric second. Pricing will be in the overall fabric or leather cover number. If a fabric style is ordered with welts in leather or mohair fabric, there is an additional charge.
Some styles have tape under the nailheads, which you can contrast in another fabric, or leather on a leather style. It would be cover 2 and will also include all welts, unless ordered as a special application. Nail tape in leather or mohair is additional charge.
On most styles, we will delete the welts at no extra charge (see Included Options). If listed under Custom Options, there is an upcharge.
Because both contrasting welts and combination are usually offered together, you must specify which way you are ordering. See “Included Options” for details. Take note of area(s) the covers will apply to. Items will be priced in the higher of the two cover codes.
Leather style with Fabric as included option: When leather is overall cover and second cover for seats and backs is fabric it will be priced in the higher of the two cover codes.
Order a contrasting fabric on the button(s) for no extra cost. Be specific in ordering contrasting buttons versus contrasting welts.
When buttons on a fabric style are ordered in a contrasting leather or fabric with a letter in the 6-digit number (Order-to-Order cover), there is an additional charge.
Throw pillows may be ordered in a different fabric from the furniture piece. Included pillows are usually grouped in sets and must be ordered identical. If a different throw pillow choice is desired on styles with pillows included, many other selected pillow styles are available at no extra charge.
Leather styles do not have included throw pillows.
The connector is used to attach one sectional piece to the next, keeping each properly aligned. Sectional connectors will be automatically installed at the factory. It is at no extra cost. If you do not want connectors, it must be stated on the order.
Some heavy covers prevent a close alignment of two sectional pieces. On skirted styles, we will remove the inside skirt panel(s) then attach the connectors. Removed skirt panels will be placed under the seat cushion.
Many of our styles featuring nailheads can be built without nailheads, if desired. If listed under Included Options there is no extra charge for removing the nailhead trim. If deleting nails is under Custom Options, there will be an additional cost. Because of construction, nailheads cannot be deleted on some styles (indicated in “Style Info”)
For selected styles with a skirt, the customer can choose to delete the skirt at no extra charge. When deleting a skirt from a style, there will be a bottom welt around the entire base of the furniture. It will have the standard pre-finished leg or select from included leg options.
Two fabrics, two leathers or a fabric and a leather, one on each side, are available on throw pillows.
Two-cover combination pricing is as follows:
• For throw pillows ordered separately always price at the higher of the two price codes
• For throw pillows included on a style see Options Price List for charge
• If contrasting welts are also desired, there is no charge per pillow if the pillow style has a welt
If a leather throw pillow is desired on a fabric style the pillow must be ordered separate.

A number of styles look great with added luggage stitching. There is a Special Application charge for this option. For exciting detailing, your customer can choose a contrasting thread color for the luggage stitching, see Options Price List for charge.
To delete luggage stitching on a style, please state on order. There is no charge for this option, when listed under Included Options.
• Trim welts may be ordered on styles with welts for an additional charge
• To use trim on styles without welts, contact the Special Applications Department
• Decorative trim may be ordered above the skirt for an additional charge
Note: Decorative trims are extremely delicate and are intended for decorative purposes only. They cannot tolerate daily usage.
Nailheads are an option on some groups, at an additional charge, as specified under Custom Options.
Choose a nailhead in the size available for that style. Refer to earlier page in this section of the catalog for style options. See Options Price List for more information.
For styles that list casters as a Custom Option, see Options Price List for charge. To add casters on a style that does not list this option as available, contact the Special Applications Department for availablity.
On certain styles, the consumer can choose a different decorative leg or a leg with casters. All leg options listed in Included Options are at no additional charge.
These leg options will keep seat height approximately the same. Other legs could be available, at a different price, thru the Special Applications Dept.
Optional leg orders should specify:
• “delete skirt”, if applicable
• state leg style number
• wood finish color
Self-deck is decking made from the requested fabric. Sleepers, ottomans, tight seats, styles with non-reversible cushions (stated in Style Info), and all leather styles are not available with optional self-deck. In the closed position, sleepers feature a custom 7” self-deck flap. See Options Price List for pricing.
Armcaps are available on most fabric styles. The armcap style number to order is listed in Custom Options. All armcaps are sold in pairs. Armcaps cover the arm and are not intended to be a tailored fit. See Options Price List for pricing.

To use a battery-powered charging system on your recliner with the power mechanism. Order style #301. (for all styles except Stephanie) order style #321 for Stephanie 1166-43 swivel glider power recliner. Order one system per reclining seat.
It includes the battery module (attaches to recliner) and a removable charging unit. Charge the batteries eight hours prior to use. With multiple charges, the user will get approximately 800 cycles.

Approval for a Special Applications Order
1. Call the Special Applications Department to determine whether or not the request can be handled and, if so, cost price for the change.
2. Confirm the order and retail price with your customer.
3. Contact the Order Department and place your order, noting any special application requests.
Do not make any promises to your customers until you talk to our Special Applications Department.
Our Special Applications Department handles minor styling changes to help you meet special requests from your customers. Because every fabric and frame combination presents a unique situation, each special application request must be approved in advance. A special application request does not alter our high quality standards, which are applied uniformly.
Following are the types of requests typically handled by our Special Applications Department:
• Special fabric applications. Applying centered patterns, matched patterns, vinyls, etc. to styles that normally don’t accept these fabrics
• Changing fabric combinations. For instance, a combination of two or more fabrics on specified areas of a sofa
• Adding or deleting a swivel base to a chair
• Adding or deleting nailheads when not listed as a option
• Cushion changes, such as a bench seat in place of three cushions or a box border welt instead of a single welt
• Use spiral welt on styles without welts
• Add luggage-stitching

You can order the welting to be cut on bias (random fabrics) for an additional charge.

In addition to the covers in our line, we will also build furniture with fabric or leather provided by the customer.
Before ordering material for a C.O.M. item, refer to the online yardage chart or call the C.O.M. Department for the estimated yardage required. To provide accurate yardage requirements for the requested style, we need the following information:
1. Is the desired material of upholstery grade? (Silks are not considered upholstery grade.)
2. Is the material “railroaded” or “conventional” roll goods?
3. Does the material have 54” of usable fabric, not including the selvage? C.O.M. orders with less than 54” in width are normally not accepted (except for throw pillows). If determined useable, there will be a hand cutting charge for you to approve before releasing.
4. Is a pattern repeat involved that needs to be considered in cutting? (Repeats on a random pattern will not affect cutting.)
A list of approximate C.O.M. yardage requirements is available. Check online or call the C.O.M. Department at extension 3229 for more information. We do not return leftover fabric after order is cut.
When ordering material for a C.O.M. style that includes pillows, please allow extra fabric for the pillows. The list of approximate C.O.M. yardage requirements does not include yardage needed for the pillows.
It is the dealer’s responsibility to see that the material received at the factory for C.O.M. orders is free from flaws, bow or bias. We cannot be responsible for
fabric quality or durability. We may refuse to apply a C.O.M. due to its pattern.
All C.O.M. woven goods must be backed to prevent unraveling and seam separation. Backing must be full 54” to be classified as usable. If received C.O.M. is not backed, it will need to be sent out for backing by customer.
Inside is face — the C.O.M. needs to be rolled correctly with the face of the cover inside. If we need to reroll it in the correct direction, there is a handling charge.
We do not accept leathers (C.O.L.) requiring matching or direction orientation. We have no accurate method of calculating the total square footage required. Embossed leathers are not for overall use.
When you place a C.O.M. order, please include some description of the fabric, such as “light blue cotton floral print” and the mill or source name. This allows the fabric to be correctly identified.
Any unidentified C.O.M. or C.O.L. will be stored for 30 days, then disposed of. We cannot hold a fabric roll, for a possible order change, while customer is making a decision.
All packages of material sent to the factory must include a C.O.M. Control Form (from the Dealer Customer Center or C.O.M. Dept), with the following information:
1. Dealer name
2. Customer name
3. Style number on which fabric is to be applied
4. Attach a swatch of the fabric to the C.O.M.
Control Form or digital image in correct direction shown for application.
A C.O.M./C.O.L. order sent without the completed form will be placed on hold until received. By failing to send the form, we are not responsible for the delay in production.

Bullion fringe may be applied as a decorative trim over skirts or base of a style. Contact C.O.M. Dept for the recommended length for your style (name and group number).
Bullion must be attached just below the skirt welt. C.O.M. Dept can tell you the finished heights of skirts. See Custom Options for style availability.

All C.O.M. orders are acknowledged only after the fabric arrives at the factory. Make sure your customer is aware that production of the order starts when everything on the order is confirmed ready. Delivery quotes would start from that date.
You can replace the nailhead trim with spaced spit tack accents. The tacks are 3/16”. By nature, spit tacks are meant to be spaced. Call Special Applications for the spacing measurement per style. The charge for spit tacks is the same price as specialty nails.
When choosing a fabric or leather, there are things you should consider.
It’s important to be knowledgeable when identifying and selecting the right fabric or leather for your furniture. Understanding the qualities and characteristics of each material ensures you make the best choice for both style and durability. With the right information, you can confidently choose options that enhance your space and stand the test of time.
In this section, you will learn about fabric characteristics, fiber content, availability on certain styles, and cleaning instructions. We also discuss the differences between railroad and conventional fabrics.
Please review the label on the fabric or leather swatch. It will have important details and codes that are explained in this section.
There are several things to consider when shopping for leather. The purchase of leather furniture can be made easier with some basic knowledge about the different types, the characteristics, and how to care for it, which are addressed in the following pages.
Seat cushions on styles ordered in leather, vinyl and heavy velvet are not reversible. The special bottom fabric covering allows cushions to breathe. A fastener tape, similar to Velcro®, is sewn on the bottom of each leather, vinyl and heavy velvet cushion.
All pillows are available in faux fur. The welt will be removed. Note: Dyelot may vary from these visuals.

Conventional Random Covers may not be matched on the styles listed below.
Conventional Random fabrics cannot always be matched on these styles at the noted seams. Please be sure your customer knows what to expect. If the fabric is listed as a "Conventional Random - No Match" the pattern will not be matched on any style.
On a number of our more shapely styles, perfectly matching a pattern is virtually impossible. Due to the inherent geometry of the frame–accented by the pattern repeat or layout of the fabric–a perfect flow match is impossible.
This is especially apparent in styles with tufting, curved seams, or highly contoured backs and arms. Striped and plaid fabrics will often converge at an angle, rather than flow seamlessly into each other. And a large pattern repeat can often look awkwardly placed. On frame styles that we know this has been a challenge, we’ve added a cautionary recommendation (see COVER INFO).
Please see examples below. And in every case, be assured that our skilled upholsterers will make every effort to layout your fabric selections in the most attractive way possible. Please make sure you and your customers understand these fabric recommendations, so there are no disappointments.
On matched patterns, like large prints and stripes, the small button cover will most likely not match the rest of the pattern flow.
On a number of our furniture designs, with fine details, a heavier upholstery fabric is not appropriate. These heavier fabrics are often particularly desirable for their depth of pattern weave technique, for their durability, and for their frequently rich appearance. However, when it comes to details like border skirts, delicate pleating, or tufting, they are virtually impossible to execute satisfactorily. As a warning, we’ve added a cautionary recommendation to furniture styles where heavier fabrics are not suitable (see COVER INFO). Please make sure you and your customers understand these fabric recommendations, so there are no disappointments.
Because of the especially shapely contours on these designs, matched patterns are not allowed.

D Cleaning should be performed by a professional furniture cleaning service, using a solvent-based cleaning agent. Do not use any tumble method cleaning service as this may damage the fabric. Never remove cushion covers for dry cleaning, even though they have zippers.
W-S Clean water type stains with water-based cleaning agents and for oil type stains, use solvent-based cleaning agents, both designed for upholstery. Do not saturate.
X Clean only by vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metalic, stiff bristle brush. DO NOT USE ANY WATER OR SOLVENT BASED CLEANER.
To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, soft bristle brush to remove dust and grime is recommended. Do not use a rotary motion attachment when vacuuming.

To assist in accurately visualizing fabric applications during client consultations, all fabric swatches include a sewn-in diagonal label located in the lower left corner.
We recommend the following handling instructions for the two swatch sizes:
8” x 12” swatches
These swatches are oriented to show how the pattern will run on the furniture. They are always displayed topside up. There is also an arrow pointing up indicating which direction is top of the pattern.
Deluxe swatches
Refer to the fabric description printed on the swatch label to determine orientation:
• Railroaded Covers: Unclip the hanger and fully unfold the swatch. Rotate it so the label is in the bottom right corner and the arrow is pointing up. This represents how the fabric will be applied to the furniture.
• Conventional Covers: Unclip the hanger and unfold the swatch. Lay it flat with the arrow pointing up; the label should now appear in the bottom left corner. This reflects the correct fabric orientation for the furniture application.
Just like in leather, seat cushions on styles ordered in vinyl and heavy velvet are not reversible. The special bottom fabric covering allows cushions to breathe. A fastener tape, similar to Velcro®, is sewn on the bottom of each leather, vinyl and heavy velvet cushion.
“Railroad” on a swatch label means the design of the pattern runs vertically across the roll from selvage to selvage. When viewing the material from the selvage edge, any figures will appear upright. Railroad stripes run across the roll. For this reason, railroad fabrics are not recommended for use in making draperies.
“Conventional” on a swatch label means the design of the pattern runs horizontally the length of the roll parallel to the selvages. When viewing the material from the selvage edge, any figures will appear sideways. Conventional stripes run the length of the roll. For this reason, conventional fabrics are recommended for use in making draperies.
Knowing how fabrics are created will assist you in proper selection for their end use and provide a better understanding of their limitations. The following information is an overview of textile fibers used in the upholstered furniture market. Fibers contribute to the hand, texture, and appearance of a fabric. The performance of the final product depends, to a large extent, on the fiber’s specific properties and characteristics.
The price of a fabric is seldom an indication of its wearability. The price is determined by such things as the cost to manufacture the fibers, the complexity of the weaving process, and the dyeing and finishing processes used.
Acetate
A cellulosic man made fiber. Fair to good abrasion resistance and durability. An elegant, versatile fiber usually used in blends, adding a luxurious hand and appearance.
Acrylic
A man made fiber. Moderate strength, dyes in brilliant colors, good to excellent colorfastness. Soft, high loft with plush appearance.
Cotton
A natural fiber. Fair to very good abrasion resistance and durability depending on tightness of weave. Excellent hand, pilling resistance. Often elegant, stylish appearance.
Flax
Natural elements of the plant from which the cellulosic fiber linen is obtained.
Linen
Cellulosic fibers derived from the stem of the flax plant.
Nylon
A manufactured fiber. Excellent strength abrasion resistance and dyeability. Pilling and static build-up can be a problem unless treated.
Olefin
A man made fiber. Excellent strength, and resistance to chemicals, stains, and mildew. Tends to attract soil and can be difficult to clean because the fiber doesn’t absorb moisture.
Polyester
A man made fiber. Soft hand but very strong and durable. Blends well with wool, cotton, and rayon.
Polypropylene
An olefin fiber made from polymers or copolymers of propylene.
Rayon/Viscose
A cellulosic man made fiber. Excellent strength and pilling resistance. Good abrasion resistance and dyes well. Blends well with other fibers.
Other Fibers
If five percent or less of a fiber is present (unless the fiber has a definite functional significance), under law it may be designated as “other fibers.”
Some fabrics in our line have unique characteristics that the consumer should realize when an order is placed. The label on our fabric swatches may give this information or refer you to the catalog. When you locate the fabric number, refer to the Characteristic/Availability column for the number that corresponds to the characteristic described below.
1 Sofas and loveseats with a single back or seat cushion must be seamed since the usable overall length or width on conventional roll goods is 54”.
2 Natural cotton seed particles may appear.
3 Velvets and other pile fabrics will exhibit random crushing and shading.*
4 This fabric has been brushed for softness. A slight napped effect may be evident.
5 This authentic denim fabric has been dyed with natural pigments. As with jeans, some fading, color loss, and color transfer may occur with use.
6 This fabric has been washed to provide a relaxed, loose and casual “slipcovered” appearance.
7 The puckered or wrinkled effect seen here is created by a seersucker weaving technique, and is not a defect.
8 The puckered or quilted appearance of this fabric is a result of a matelasse or double cloth weaving technique, and is not a defect.
9 This 100% cotton twill has been dyed using natural pigments, and has been washed and brushed for extra softness.
10 This fabric is woven with subtle irregularities which appear as knots or heavier yarns and are considered characteristic of the cloth.
11 This 100% cotton fabric has been washed for extra softness and a casual relaxed effect.
12 This thicker, heavy fabric will not upholster well on a style with detailing.
13 This fabric is created using a printed warp, which means that colors will be repeated at random through out the pattern.

17 This item is a loosely constructed decorative trim and should not be used on seat cushions. Fringe trims can only be used on pillows.
18 This fabric has been piece- or vat- dyed. Some color variations will occur as a result of the process.
19 This fine velvet, comprised of 100% acrylic yarn, is woven to replicate the classic look of mohair wool. As with any velvet, crushing and shading will occur, and are to be considered normal characteristics of velvet. This fabric can be brushed to minimize such marks, but steam should never be used on any acrylic velvet.*
20 This fabric is made from 100% natural silk, hand crafted on manual weaving machines. Knots, slubs, and other weaving irregularities are the hallmark of natural silk woven by a traditional method, and are not to be considered as defects, but rather as proof of genuine silk created by artisans using time-honored techniques.
21 This fabric is restricted to use on accent or throw pillows only. Because it has been designed with only pillow applications in mind, it is not covered by the normal fabric warranty.
22 This luxurious, authentic velvet is made of 100% cotton. New, and more so with use, it will exhibit marking, shading and crushing, which are natural and desirable characteristics of all authentic pure cotton velvets, and not to be considered as defects.*
* Velvet is a beautiful yet durable product. When made up on upholstery, it will get its unique appearance after some time due to its ability to recover with the natural humidity in the atmosphere. Pressure marks, rolling stripes and smaller irregularities should disappear in a ventilated and relative humid environment.
23 The appeal of wool-blend fabric is the fine hand and significant pile. Like other high pile fabrics with natural fibers, it may exhibit shade variations and some random crushing. Just like a fine wool coat or rug, this shading can be minimized by a light brushing with a soft brush.
24 The appeal of this fabric comes from the slubby weave of thick, natural cotton fibers. As a part of this natural construction, there can be show-through of the white threads that make up the warps. This is not considered a flaw and is actually a natural and desirable characteristic of these popular fabrics.
25 Due to the tight weave of this fabric, a minimal amount of puckering will occur with most seams. The yarns of this fabric are oriented in very tight layers that cannot shift easily to compensate for the thread as it is inserted in the seam. This causes these tight yarns in the fabric to draw up giving a rippled appearance along the seam line. This is usually more of a problem when seams are sewn in the warp direction than in the weft (filling) or bias directions.

27 Color Contrast Between Warp & Fill Yarns - Styles without welt will show the light or dark base yarn in the seam. This will depend on which color yarn is on the face, and which color yarn is on the back. This is a characteristic of this type of fabric and not a flaw.

It is recommended that use of this fabric be for decorative purposes only because of the possibility of yarns that could unravel or get snagged. 33 Printed fabrics on natural fibers can show small light areas of base cloth color due to normal detachment of fibers & loose slubs. Thus should not be considered a flaw and is actually a natural characteristic of this type of fabric.
34 Due to construction/weave of this fabric, back pillows and seat cushions must be cut and sewn with breather panels on bottom to allow air to escape. With added breather panels, the back pillows and seat cushions will not be able to be flipped.

With some fabrics, welts are always cut on the bias (diagonal) or for contrasting welts only. Fabric characteristic codes 28 and 29 (above), found on the bottom corner of the swatch label, identifies those fabrics.
If the style is not listed here or the fabric does not have characteristic codes 28 or 29, you can still order the welts (in a random fabric) to be cut on the bias. See Options price list for the additional charge.

• Best to use washing machine without center agitator
• It is recommended that sofa and sectional sized slipcovers be washed in a large capacity washing machine.
• Before washing, we recommend running through an empty wash cycle to remove leftover detergent and bleaches that can spot or stain the slipcover
• To wash, remove slipcovers and close all zippers before loading into machine; divide into smaller loads if necessary. Do not overload
• Always wash entire slipcover set for uniform color results
• Use gentle cycle, cold water and mild detergent. Avoid detergents with bleach additives or bluing agents used for whitening/ brightening
• For best results, wash slipcovers separately from other laundry items to prevent snagging, color transfer, etc.

This semi-aniline leather has a pigmented finish applied to the surface for protection from stains and consistency of color. The natural grain is still evident but natural markings on the hide are less apparent.

Otherwise known as distressed leather, waxed leather ages beautifully and develops a soft patina over time. It may show light scratch marks as the surface wax shifts with use.

Leather hides are only so large and it normally requires more than one hide to upholster your furniture. It is typical to see seams on the outside back, arms, back pillows and seat cushions. This is not stated on every group available in leather in this catalog, nor are seams always visible on the website view of leather on a style. It’s important that you make your customer aware of these seams. If the preference is no seams on the back pillows and seat cushions, please contact Special Applications to see if the style can be made without seamed panels in these areas.

Color variation is a natural occurrence with leathers. A seemingly uniform colored leather will have many unique color variations.
In the dyeing process, no topical pigments are used. Each hide absorbs “color” based on its individual cell structure. Each area of the hide will absorb dye in varying amounts, and thus be darker or lighter than other areas, much as wood varies in color when stained.
An arm of a leather sofa may have a different shade than the cushions or the back of the sofa. A swatch may not be an exact match to the piece of furniture you receive.
Leather’s richness will show through and be supple to the touch. Leathers will grace your home with performance, elegance and longevity.
