The Joyce Bond Legacy
Volume 04, Issue 03
A Lifetime filled with open hands and heart for everyone she met Joyce started volunteering at Northwood when her mother came to live here in 1993. She would tell you, as she has told many, that Northwood saved her life, and gave her purpose after her husband and best friend, Albert, died suddenly. She went on to spend 30+ years as a volunteer with Northwood’s Leisure and Recreation Department. She was recognized for her contribution and presented with Northwood’s Loving Care Award in 2017. Joyce never hesitated to offer support to anyone, whether it be a stranger in need of a hug at the grocery store or convincing her daughter to pick up a young person waiting for the bus in the rain. She was an amazing woman who gave an open, loving, and compassionate heart to her family, friends, and everyone she met. Northwood’s Hearts & Hands Campaign will ensure that Joyce will never be forgotten. Her kindness and love will forever be felt in the newly named, Joyce Bond Centre. Joyce shared her life, her family, and her love with our Northwood Community. Her heart was filled with kindness, and it is our honour to be embarking on the Hands & Hearts Campaign for the new naming of the Joyce Bond Centre. The Hands & Hearts Campaign will recognize all donors for their generosity on a wall inside the Joyce Bond Centre. Every gift will make a difference. Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated. To learn more about the newly named Joyce Bond Centre and the Hearts & Hands Campaign go to page 4
