As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our gala and the impact this event has had at Northumberland Hills Hospital, I am filled with gratitude and immense pride.
This year’s celebration was special. The overall funds raised were the most ever—and that success belongs entirely to you: our community, our dedicated Volunteer Campaign Cabinet, and every guest, sponsor, and auction donor who joined us for this milestone celebration.
Over the past quarter century, the gala has evolved in many ways its format, its venue, even its theme but one thing has never changed: the extraordinary community spirit that brings it to life. That spirit was on full display on November 8th.
The generosity, energy, and commitment felt that evening helped us raise critical funds to directly support the purchase of essential medical equipment for Northumberland Hills Hospital. Specifically, funds raised this year will purchase several endoeye scopes for the Surgical Services program.
Investments like this ensure physicians and care teams have the tools they need to deliver exceptional care close to home.
To everyone who contributed whether by giving, volunteering, attending, or cheering us on thank you. You have made a lasting impact on the health of our community, and together, we have set a new standard for what we can achieve.

We were honoured to serve as Co-Chairs of A Silver Soirée. When we were asked to lead this event, it was easy to say “yes.”
Easy, because as family doctors we see the impact of community generosity every day. Donations to our hospital help us not only care for our own patients, but for everyone in west Northumberland.
Easy, because we knew we would not be planning this alone. We joined a dedicated Cabinet of volunteers, each leading their own portfolio and committed to helping raise money for our hospital. To our Gala Cabinet, we say “thank you.” Thank you for your dedication, ideas, and the many hours you gave to bring A Silver Soirée to life.
Easy, because of the powerhouse Foundation staff who work tirelessly to support our hospital every day. Thank you to this team for all you do to support our hospital every day.
And most importantly, easy because of the community of dedicated hospital supporters – both longstanding and new. Throughout the Gala’s 25-year history, generosity was the common thread woven through every event. That generosity was on full display as we celebrated the most financially successful Gala to date.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who came together to make this event such a success. Whether you attended, sponsored, donated to the auction, pledged a gift to Fund Me, or made a contribution in any other way, this result would not have been possible without you. Thank you for believing in the care we deliver every day at NHH.

Since the inaugural event 25 years ago, the Gala has truly created a name for itself. It has become well known across the County as the themes, food, décor, and outfits have grown in extravagance each year. This growth and the bar that has been raised time and time again has always been thanks to the dedicated group of volunteers who have united to raise as many funds as possible for Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH).
Our 2025 event carried on in this vein, and it was the volunteers who truly made A Silver Soirée sparkle. From the earliest stages of planning to the final moments of the evening, our Gala Cabinet of volunteers brought creativity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to every detail. Their hours of preparation – from asking for support for our auction or Doctors’ Dream Raffle; to inviting businesses to join as sponsors; to organizing other volunteers; and planning food or décor – this team of volunteers was diligent in their efforts to create a special celebration of a significant milestone.

To our 2025 Gala Cabinet: Thank you for transforming A Silver Soirée into a meaningful celebration of community and care.
In addition to the core Cabinet team, we recognize and thank the other volunteers who set up in advance, helped on the night of, and teared everything down after. Many spent the day before, and of, setting up the venue and preparing the space, doing everything from hanging décor, laying down rugs, moving furniture, and stocking the bars. On the night of, volunteers were found performing tasks like checking coats at the door, assisting in the photo area, selling wine and Doctors’ Dream raffle tickets, supporting Fund Me, and – in the case of our Lions Club of Cobourg partner – running the bars. Finally, many returned after the event to help tear down and pack up decorations, move furniture, and clean up after the evening’s festivities.
Thank you to all who came together to make A Silver Soirée a success. Your hard work elevated the night, supported healthcare close to home, and strengthened the future of our community hospital.

There were many in attendance this year whose fingerprints are all over this success – past Gala Chairs and Cabinet members who have continued to ensure the gala’s legacy lives on even after their time volunteering concluded. Our years raising funds for NHH have been shaped by countless individuals who believed in our purpose, lent their voices, and helped us grow, and we are grateful to everyone who has given their time over the years.
Through every change and challenge, what has remained constant since our inaugural year is the incredible community support. Our community of west Northumberland shows up for our hospital – time and time again. This year, as in every year past, proved that.
Thank you for 25 years of giving in support of NHH
