Winter has a way of reminding us that elegance doesn’t need to shout; sometimes the softest moments speak the loudest. This issue embraces that very idea. Our Winter Stylized Shoot, Winter’s Embrace, took place at the stunning Être Farms in St. Joseph, Michigan. The team of vendors brought incredible vision and heart, transforming the venue into a winter-kissed dreamscape! The result is a collection of images that feel timeless, serene, and beautifully romantic, everything we love about winter wrapped into one ethereal story. Set against the rustic charm of Hidden Vineyard Wedding Barn in Berrien Springs, Michigan, Chelsea and Spencer’s wedding unfolded in a palette of earthy greens and wild blooms, threaded with delicate vintage details. Surrounded by sprawling vineyards and rustic wood, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, authenticity, and quiet romance. The evening before the wedding, Chelsea surprised her mother by wearing her original wedding gown, beautifully redesigned by Silver Moon Chicago. On the wedding day, Chelsea wore a romantic gown with soft flutter sleeves, a delicately embroidered bodice, and a train adorned with subtle floral appliqués. A cathedral-length veil and baby’s breath woven into her hair completed the look.

As a Creative Director and Graphic Designer, Chelsea brought her artistic touch to every detail, designing all of the wedding stationery and signage herself—from the invitations and menus to the day-of pieces that carried a cohesive, organic elegance throughout. Even the signature cocktails were inspired by their cats. The florals were sourced locally, reflecting Michigan’s lush latesummer beauty. Chelsea’s bouquet carried a deeply personal touch with two vintage photo charms of her grandmothers—a quiet tribute to the women who inspired her most. Spencer’s best friend officiated the intimate ceremony as the couple exchanged their own vows beneath a 600-year-old Catalpa tree, leaving not a dry eye in the room. Later, they surprised guests with a choreographed first dance to an Otis Redding classic. The routine was created by their instructor at The Social Dance Studio in Lakeview, Chicago—where they had been taking classes for three years and where Spencer ultimately proposed. As the sun set, casting an amber glow across the vineyard, guests danced the night away on the barn’s deck overlooking the rows of vines. The couple also honored Chelsea’s Sicilian heritage with a dessert display of cannolis, tiramisu, and traditional Italian cookies. Chelsea and Spencer’s wedding felt like the joyful completion of a fullcircle love story—and a celebration of the quiet magic of timing. 12

Describe Your Wedding Vision When we started planning, we knew we wanted an entire weekend surrounded by the people we love most. The moment we found Off Map, we instantly felt it was the place we were meant to get married. An outdoor celebration fit us perfectly—we love nature, and it gave us the ideal foundation for a colorful, artsy, and fun day that truly felt like “Claudia and Gabriel.” Because we’re a DIY family, adding personal touches was important. I spent months making over a hundred ceramic bud vases, my motherin-law crafted beautiful pająki, and we mixed batches of our favorite cocktails. Our vision was simple: create a weekend centered on what matters most—celebrating our love story with our closest friends and family. Describe Your Wedding Day Our wedding day was more magical than anything I could have imagined, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without our incredible family and friends. The entire day felt joyful, emotional, and unforgettable. We started the morning with pancakes and lattes from the cutest coffee cart—a simple moment I’ll cherish forever. Even the intimidating forecast didn’t shake me. I was marrying my favorite person, and that was all that mattered. Thankfully, the weather held out, and the only rain that fell came from my eyes… and many of our guests. The ceremony was beautifully emotional, and the night that followed was wildly fun. Eating our favorite foods, sipping our favorite drinks, and dancing to our favorite songs with the people we love most was the perfect ending to the best day ever.

Your Advice to Engaged Couples Our biggest advice is to set intentions for your wedding day or weekend and plan with those intentions at the center. Doing this allowed us to eliminate the unnecessary “wedding fluff” and spend more time in meaningful moments. Pace yourself during planning. Starting too early leads to overthinking, and trying to finish every DIY project in the last two weeks will make you miserable. Writing vows felt intimidating at first, but thinking of them as a love letter—why you love your partner and the promises you want to make— made it easier. If possible, take a honeymoon or minimoon afterward. We didn’t, and returning to work made the post-wedding blues hit harder. Remember: it’s a special day, but just one day in a long journey together. Don’t overthink it—have fun.

For this season’s stylized shoot, the team at Être Farms curated a serene, elevated vision titled Winter’s Embrace, blending white-on-white textures, warm neutrals, and understated luxury to honor the beauty of the season. Être Farms is known for being a true one-stop experience, and this shoot showcased the full depth of their talent. They designed multiple unique tablescapes, created the florals, crafted custom menus, curated the food and cocktails, and styled every detail in-house. We were welcomed with an array of winter-inspired bites—bacon-wrapped tenderloin with horseradish cream, crispy sweet potato with whipped goat cheese and spiced honey, and prosciutto-fig crostini. A roasted beet salad followed, and entrées included beef filet with pommes purée, roasted squash risotto with brown butter and sage, and roasted airline chicken with charred broccolini.

Describe Your Wedding Vision Our wedding vision was simple, different, and uniquely us. We wanted something small and intimate with only our closest family and friends. The idea of a New Year’s Eve wedding felt perfect—everything black with gold and silver accents, a little sparkle, and a touch of glitter to ring in the new year. We originally planned an outdoor ceremony so our goldens could be part of it, but the morning brought unexpected conditions that forced us to change everything. Nathan and Ashley’s wedding day felt like a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple: joyful, thoughtful, sentimental, and full of genuine love for one another and for their families. From the moment we arrived, we could see their personalities woven into every detail. Throughout the day, these qualities continued to shine. We laughed at their hilarious custom bobble-headed replicas of the wedding party and clergy (truly unforgettable!), admired the heartfelt photo tribute honoring loved ones who could not be there, and were moved by the family-heirloom rings carefully tied into Ashley’s bouquet with ribbon. And of course, we will never forget their “speed round” of guest photos, where Nathan and Ashley made sure they had a picture with every single guest. It was such a sweet and intentional touch. The Wooded Knot near Tippecanoe, Indiana, could not have been a more perfect setting. Nestled in the Indiana countryside, the venue offers endless photo opportunities: a wooded swing, golden cornfields glowing at sunset, and a picturesque pond along the winding drive. With both indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, everything came together beautifully. Much of this was thanks to Gracious, their exceptional Day-of Wedding Coordinator. The entire vendor team was fantastic. A blend of talented professionals and deeply invested family members ensured that every detail was handled with care, meaning, and precision. Their outdoor ceremony on the patio, facing the woods, felt warm and intimate. We were struck by how close-knit the guest list seemed; nearly everyone felt like a dear friend of Nathan and Ashley. One of the most touching moments was their “ring warming,” where the rings were passed through the hands of their parents to be blessed and prayed over before the couple exchanged them. It was a beautiful symbol of honoring those who are most important to them. The reception that followed was filled with heartfelt emotion, laughter, and connection. From the first dances and sentimental speeches to another round of rapid-fire guest photos, the atmosphere was overflowing with joy and tender moments. It was the kind of day that stays with you. Just before their final dance, we slipped away with them for sunset portraits, and Indiana delivered the perfect backdrop. The light embraced them in warm gold, creating a beautiful ending to an unforgettable day for the new “Mr. and Mrs. Mairui.”
