A MESSAGE FROM MRS REBECCA MATTHEWS As we come to the close of Term 3, we pause to give thanks to God for His faithfulness over our school community. Scripture reminds us, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18), and there is much for which we are grateful: for growth in learning, for friendships formed and strengthened, and for the many ways students, staff and families have served one another with kindness and integrity. We have witnessed God’s grace at work in classrooms, co‑curricular activities and everyday interactions between staff and students. We celebrate the effort students have shown, the resilience they have built and the character they have developed throughout this busy and creative term. Over the term break we especially hold our Year 12 students in our prayers as they continue in earnest their preparation for the exam season ahead. May the Lord grant them clarity of mind, calmness of spirit, and confidence that their identity is secure in Him, not in results. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Despite their holiday study schedule we encourage our seniors to rest well, study wisely and trust that God goes before them into every assessment and opportunity.

As families enter the break, may your homes be places of rest, reconciliation, and joy. We encourage families to carve out time to reconnect, to reflect on the term just passed, and to spend quality time before the business of Term 4 is upon us. On behalf of the Secondary staff, thank you for your ongoing partnership in education and for walking with us in this shared mission to nurture both minds and hearts for Christ. We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed, ready, and hopeful for all that God will do in the next term.

PLANNING FOR 2027 As we look ahead to 2027, we understand that family circumstances can sometimes change. If your child will not be returning to Northside next year, please let us know by completing a withdrawal form by Monday 5th October 2026. This helps us plan well for our classes and College community. Please note that withdrawals received after this date may require a term’s fee in lieu of notice. Families are also warmly invited to request an exit conversation with the relevant Director of Learning or College Principal. 2027 BOOKLISTS AND SUBJECT RESOURCES For many years, Northside has benefited from a long-standing relationship with North of the Yarra bookstore, which has only recently closed its doors. Commencing in 2027, students at Northside will now be able to purchase all subject resources online from Box of Books. This service allows families to purchase all items required for the year, to be delivered directly to their homes prior to the commencement of subjects. Our VCE booklist will be available to peruse and purchase from in the coming weeks, ready for delivery prior to our Early Start programme in November. Our years 7-10 booklist will be made available later this year, to be delivered prior to the commencement of Term 1 in 2027. We look forward to engaging with this service, and encourage families to reach out if they have any questions or concerns.

FOOTY COLOURS DAY Northside finished Term 3 in true footy style as students and staff proudly wore their team colours for Footy Colours Day. The day was filled with enthusiasm, friendly competition and plenty of team spirit, all while supporting an important cause. Together, our College community raised an outstanding $508.20 for the Fight Cancer Foundation. Thank you to everyone who contributed through donations and our coin-line challenge.

Students also participated enthusiastically in a range of recess competitions before gathering for the much-anticipated Staff versus Students football match. Both teams displayed great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, with the staff ultimately claiming the win! A special thank you to our Student Leadership team, and project manager Peter, who worked hard to plan and facilitate the day. Their energy, organisation and willingness to serve helped our College community enjoy a memorable and joyful conclusion to Term 3. Thank you to everyone who dressed up, donated, competed, cheered and helped make Footy Colours Day such a wonderful celebration of community, generosity and team spirit.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION WEEK 12TH – 16TH OCTOBER, 2026

Northside Christian College is excited to launch our very first Inclusive Education Week - a special community awareness week celebrating the unique way God has created each one of us with purpose, value and gifts. Throughout the week, students, staff and our college community will have the opportunity to learn more about inclusion (disability and giftedness) and how we can create a school where everyone feels welcomed, valued and supported to flourish. Together, we will explore what it means to show the love, compassion and kindness of Jesus in our everyday lives.
