A MESSAGE FROM MR JOHN LONGLEY As we come to the end of another wonderful term, there is much to celebrate and much for which we can thank God. Across the past ten weeks, our students have learned, performed, explored, competed, served and taken important steps in confidence, independence and character. It is a privilege to look back and recognise God’s faithfulness through it all. Even in our final week, the learning has continued! Our Prep students enjoyed a Bush Kinder incursion, exploring and learning through God’s creation, while our Year 4 students headed to Arden Street for the Maths NBA Hoops Competition, strengthening their multiplicative thinking through an engaging and collaborative mathematical challenge. As the holidays arrive, I want to thank our students, families and staff for the many ways you have contributed to our Primary community this term. Thank you especially for praying with us and for us. Amid the busyness of school life, it is important that we stop and recognise all that God has done. We are grateful for His provision, protection and presence, and for the growth we continue to see in our young people.

There is also something very special to look forward to when we return! On Tuesday evening of Week 1, we will gather for our College Art Show, celebrating creativity and the wonderful artistic gifts God has given across our community. Families are invited to come along together, view student artwork in a gallery setting and enjoy live music, food and interactive opportunities to create art together.
There will also be the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Awards, celebrate the presentation of our Art Competition and Art Show Awards, and purchase special Art Show merchandise or food, with proceeds supporting our Parents and Friends Association. I hope many of our families will join us as we begin Term 4 by celebrating creativity, excellence and community together. My prayer is that the coming break provides genuine rest and refreshment for our students, families and staff. May there be time to slow down, enjoy one another’s company and be renewed for the term ahead. May God bless you and your family too,

PLANNING FOR 2027 As we look ahead to 2027, we understand that family circumstances can sometimes change. If your child will not be returning to Northside next year, please let us know by completing a withdrawal form by Monday 5th October 2026. This helps us plan well for our classes and College community. Please note that withdrawals received after this date may require a term’s fee in lieu of notice. Families are also warmly invited to request an exit conversation with the relevant Director of Learning or College Principal. Withdrawal forms are available from Reception and can be returned to enrol@ncc.vic.edu.au. Please contact our Enrolments Team with any questions.

FOOTY COLOURS DAY Northside finished Term 3 in true footy style as students and staff proudly wore their team colours for Footy Colours Day. The day was filled with enthusiasm, friendly competition and plenty of team spirit, all while supporting an important cause. Together, our College community raised an outstanding $508.20 for the Fight Cancer Foundation. Thank you to everyone who contributed through donations and our coin-line challenge.

Students also participated enthusiastically in a range of recess competitions before gathering for the much-anticipated Staff versus Students football match. Both teams displayed great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship, with the staff ultimately claiming the win! A special thank you to our Student Leadership team, and project manager Peter, who worked hard to plan and facilitate the day. Their energy, organisation and willingness to serve helped our College community enjoy a memorable and joyful conclusion to Term 3. Thank you to everyone who dressed up, donated, competed, cheered and helped make Footy Colours Day such a wonderful celebration of community, generosity and team spirit.

Northside Christian College is excited to launch our very first Inclusive Education Week - a special community awareness week celebrating the unique way God has created each one of us with purpose, value and gifts. Throughout the week, students, staff and our college community will have the opportunity to learn more about inclusion (disability and giftedness) and how we can create a school where everyone feels welcomed, valued and supported to flourish. Together, we will explore what it means to show the love, compassion and kindness of Jesus in our everyday lives.

Thank you to our families for continuing to partner with us in helping students attend regularly, arrive on time and be ready to learn. Our goal remains 95% attendance or above. Every day at school matters, not only for learning, but also for friendships, connection, routines and a student’s sense of belonging. As we head into a busy and important final term, we encourage families to keep building on the positive progress we are seeing. A reminder about family holidays: We understand that families sometimes plan travel during the school year. Where a holiday is planned during term time, families are required to apply in writing to the Principal prior to departure. Wearing Our Uniform Well Across the College, we have seen a noticeable improvement in the way students are wearing their uniform, with significant progress across several year levels. It is great to see more students taking responsibility for their presentation and wearing the NCC uniform well. There are still a few areas where we need to continue working together. Students are reminded that hair must be neat and appropriately presented in line with our College Uniform Policy. Hair that is shoulder length or longer, or that falls across the face, must be tied back. We also ask families to ensure students are wearing the correct College track pants. The NCC logo track pants available through Academy Uniforms are the only approved track pants. Wearing our uniform well is a shared responsibility between students, families and the College. More than simply wearing the same clothing, our uniform helps build a sense of unity, belonging and shared identity while teaching personal responsibility, self discipline and respect for agreed expectations. 2028 PREP APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN Families with a sibling born between 1st January 2022 to 30th April 2023 are invited to apply now for 2028 Prep entry. Applications are received online.
ATTENTION YEAR 6 PARENTS: CHROMEBOOK PROGRAM Students in Year 7 next year will need a College-approved device. The Secondary ICT Device Program means that parents no longer need to source their own device. We will provide you with further information about this Program shortly. Please do not purchase a device for Secondary School.
COLLEGE UNIFORM UPDATE WARDROBE SUITE
The new approach to our uniforms is to have a “Wardrobe Suite”. This means that on cooler days, students can wear warmer uniform pieces, and on warmer days students can wear lighter uniform pieces, irrespective of the time of year. Alongside this, families have received an updated Uniform Policy and a visual Uniform Wardrobe Guide to support clear expectations. As you consider uniform options, please be reminded that the Sport uniform can only be worn on allocated Sport days. Please be advised that the new shirt with the black piping is for girls only.
