A MESSAGE FROM MRS REBECCA MATTHEWS
As we begin to approach the end of term, our school community enters an important and often demanding period. For many of our senior secondary students, this is a time of consolidation, reflection, and demonstrating the learning that has taken place over the semester.
For our teachers, writing reports and constructively reflecting on student academic growth requires additional hours of work and professional commitment. I would like to take this opportunity to share a few thoughts on how we can all support our young people to finish the term with purpose, confidence, and balance.
The upcoming assessment period is a significant milestone. Exams are not only a measure of academic progress but also an opportunity for students to develop valuable life skills such as organisation, time management, and resilience. We encourage all students to prepare thoughtfully by establishing a clear study plan, breaking revision into manageable sections, and making use of the resources and guidance provided by their teachers.
Consistent effort over time is far more effective than last-minute cramming.

Families play a vital role during this period. A calm, structured environment at home can make a meaningful difference. Simple strategies -such as helping students maintain regular routines, encouraging healthy sleep habits, and providing reassurance can support both wellbeing and performance. It is equally important to remind students that while exams and assessments matter, they are only one part of their broader learning journey.
At school, we are committed to ensuring that exam and assessment processes run smoothly and fairly. Students have received clear timetables, expectations, and support leading into the exam period. I encourage all students to check their schedules carefully, arrive prepared with the correct materials, and communicate with staff if any concerns arise. Good organisation is one of the strongest predictors of success during this time.
Finally, finishing the term strong is important. Attendance, engagement in remaining classes, and completion of final tasks all contribute to a successful conclusion. Every lesson still counts, and maintaining focus through to the final day reflects both character and commitment.
I thank our students for their ongoing efforts and our families for their continued support and partnership in our shared mission of ‘Transforming lives through Christ and the wonder of learning’. Together, we can ensure that this term concludes positively, with a sense of achievement and readiness for the next stage of learning.

ELEVATE EDUCATION
A fresh chapter for our College uniform has begun from Term 2 2026, with the introduction of a new “Wardrobe Suite” approach across Prep to Year 12.
This update provides greater flexibility for students and families, allowing approved uniform items to be worn in combinations that suit the weather, while maintaining a neat and consistent presentation.
Alongside this, families have received an updated Uniform Policy and a visual Uniform Wardrobe Guide to support clear expectations
Additional updates include the introduction of a new outerwear jacket, available from Term 2.
Transition timelines have been outlined for updates to shoes and boys’ shorts, giving families time to plan ahead, alongside a uniform recycling initiative.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child is a great way for our College community to come together and bless children less fortunate than us with a special gift for Christmas.
Each class has been assigned gift items to collect so that our gift boxes can be filled. Please refer to the attached flyer.
All items must be new and handed in to your child’s Homeroom teacher by Friday 31st July 2026.
LOST PROPERTY
Our Lost Property collection has grown again this term, with many unnamed uniform items, lunch boxes and drink bottles waiting to be reunited with their owners.
We kindly ask families to check Lost Property and collect any belongings over the next two weeks, before the end of Term 2. Lost Property is located outside the Harbour toilets, near the Year 1 classrooms.
To help us return items promptly, please ensure your child's name is clearly marked on all uniforms, lunch boxes and drink bottles Named items can be returned quickly, while unnamed items often remain unclaimed. Unclaimed items will be responsibly recycled if they remain uncollected during the school holidays. Thank you for your support.

SCHOOL LUNCHES
As part of our commitment to supporting safe and consistent routines across the Secondary School, we would like to clarify expectations regarding student lunches.
Lunch meals must be ready to eat and should not require boiling water or microwaving This privilege is reserved for our VCE students as they grow in independence. Due to burns risk and student safety, staff are not permitted to prepare or heat student lunches.
We ask that each lunchbox includes a healthy fruit or vegetable option for Brain Food, a recess snack, and a substantial lunch that will sustain students through the day
Many families choose to preheat meals in the morning and store them in a thermos, allowing students to enjoy a warm meal at lunchtime without the need for reheating.

What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge theirhigher orderthinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, SpellingBee,and Digital Technologies.
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
Your child’s ICAS certificates will show their results and the login details, “TAP ID and Pin”. - Use these to enter the Results Portal (https://orti.icasassessments.com/ortiStudent).
