As we approach Mother’s Day, we take a moment to honour and give thanks for the mothers, grandmothers and mother figures in our community.
Scripture reminds us of the profound impact of a mother’s faith, ‘I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also’ (2 Timothy 1:5).
We are grateful for the care, wisdom, sacrifice and encouragement that mothers bring into the lives of our students each day. Your influence shapes not only your own children, but the strength and character of our wider community.
As a College, we also recognise the importance of walking together in partnership as we seek to guide and protect our young people. I invite you to join me at our upcoming ‘Behind the Screen’ Parents and Carers Night on Monday 11th May from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, where cyber safety expert Susan McLean will share practical insights to support families. Looking ahead, our Years 3 – 6 Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday, and parents are invited to attend to support and encourage the students. Parents are invited to join the Primary staff and students in the Courtyard to enjoy Primary Assembly together.
Please be aware that Primary Assembly may be cancelled at the last minute if the weather does not allow us to meet outside.
Photos and videos of the students are not permitted at Chapel or Assemblies to protect the privacy of other students who may appear in the frame.
Please note that parents and pre-schoolers cannot access the Students ONLY toilets during Primary Assembly. Staff and Visitor toilets are located in the Administration Building (near Reception) or on Level 1 in the Middle School Building.
Parents are not required to sign in at Reception for Chapel or Assembly.
Please be aware that students must remain with their class and their teachers during these events.

In response to feedback received from our College community, the black collars on the Sports rugby jumpers have been improved to reduce fading.
These jumpers will be available from Academy Uniforms.

A quick reminder for families that anklet socks are not part of the College uniform.

YEARS 3 - 6 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Thursday 14th May
Where: Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium
What to wear: Sports uniform with House coloured t-shirt. Students are encouraged to wear house coloured accessories.
What to bring: Water bottle, snacks and lunch.
*Please bring lunch in disposable wrappings, and ensure that all personal items are clearly labelled Money for the canteen is optional (cash or card only, NO PHONES) Students are responsible for any money or card they bring on the day.
Transport: In the interest of child safety, we are transporting all students to and from this event by bus as follows:
Years 5 - 6
Students arrive at the College by 8:00am. The bus will leave at 8:15am sharp.
Students will return to the College at 2:20pm.
Years 3 - 4
Students arrive at the College by 8:40am. The bus will leave at 8:50am sharp. Students will return to the College by 3:05pm.
ALL students will be dismissed at the end of the day, as per normal.
Attendance at the Athletics Carnival is compulsory Any students unable to attend for medical reasons will require a medical certificate
*Please note that siblings will not be able to enter the College grounds until the gates open at 8:15am and are to be supervised by parents/carers until then. Primary siblings can access Camp Australia for before-school care if needed (book at www.campaustralia.com.au)
The new approach to our uniforms is to have a “Wardrobe Suite”. This means that on cooler days, students can wear warmer uniform pieces, and on warmer days students can wear lighter uniform pieces, irrespective of the time of year.
Alongside this, families have received an updated Uniform Policy and a visual Uniform Wardrobe Guide to support clear expectations
As you consider uniform options, please be reminded that the Sport uniform can only be worn on allocated Sport days.
Please be advised that the new shirt with the black piping is for girls only.

VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge theirhigher orderthinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, SpellingBee,and Digital Technologies.
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
