Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you to the many families who partnered so thoughtfully with us during the recent Parent Student Teacher Conferences last week. It was a joy to see the way you engaged in conversations about your child’s learning, growth and next steps Your shared commitment makes a significant difference, and it is a privilege to walk alongside you in partnership, supporting each student’s journey
As we enter the final fortnight of the term, our attention naturally turns toward Easter Easter reminds us of the hope we have in Jesus through His death and resurrection, and it offers a meaningful opportunity to refocus our hearts on what matters most. As a College, students from Prep to Year 12 will gather for a special Easter Chapel on Monday, providing a shared opportunity to reflect on the significance of this season as a whole community.
Over the Easter period, we warmly invite families to connect with their local church and take part in Easter services. As a College community, many of our families also gather at Encompass Church, where services will be held across all campuses on Good Friday, 3rd April at 10:00 am, and Easter Sunday, 5th April at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. What a great opportunity to connect in worship as we reflect on the significance of this season together.

VICTORIAN PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE
The Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge is now running and will run until Friday 4th September 2026.
All students whose parents/carers have provided consent via Consent2Go have been assigned usernames and passwords. These were glued into the back of student diaries
Instructions for logging in and recording books read have also been sent to families via SEQTA. Please assist your child in logging the books they read between Monday 2nd March and Friday 4th September
Primary school students who complete the challenge will go into the draw to win one of three $30 QBD book vouchers.

Eco-themed intermediate coding in Minecraft Education for students who are ready to move beyond beginner programs, GreenQuest introduces the next level of coding challenges inside Minecraft Education.
This program invites learners to design and code the smart, sustainable cities of tomorrow building towns that balance people, animals and the environment Through creative quests and large-scale builds, students explore green technology and eco-friendly design while learning more advanced concepts such as loops, conditionals and debugging. With richer projects, trickier challenges and collaborative problem-solving, GreenQuest delivers a game-like learning experience while deepening STEM skills and big-picture thinking.

These competitions provide an excellent opportunity for students to extend their computational and mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills and perseverance. Both are designed to challenge students beyond the standard classroom curriculum and are best suited for those who enjoy tackling complex, unfamiliar problems and are currently above the expected standard for mathematics.
Cost: $9 per competition (Students in the INSPiRE program may participate at no cost.)
At this stage, we are seeking expressions of interest only. No payment is required yet, and further details will be shared with registered families.

What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge theirhigher orderthinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, SpellingBee,and Digital Technologies.
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
Your child’s ICAS certificates will show their results and the login details, “TAP ID and Pin”. - Use these to enter the Results Portal (https://orti.icasassessments.com/ortiStudent).
