Excellence Awards: recognising excellence within our four Culture Pillars
Dear Parents and Carers,
There is something very special about the rhythm of a new school year settling into place. Next week marks an important milestone for our Prep students as they complete their first full week of school. What a wonderful achievement.
It has been a joy to see our Preps growing in confidence each day; learning new routines, forming friendships and navigating the College with more confidence. Our Year 6 Big Buddies are so glad that their Prep Buddies will now be at school each day. I am pleased to see them responding to the challenge to model care, encouragement and leadership in ways that reflect the heart of our College.
Thank you to the many families who were able to join us for our first Primary Chapel at the beginning of Week 4 at Encompass Church. It was a meaningful time together as a community, and we were delighted to present our very first Northside Excellence Awards for the year.
These awards recognise students who demonstrate excellence within our four Cultural Pillars:
Each week, classroom teachers will nominate students who are living out these pillars in authentic and observable ways. Awards will be presented weekly at either Primary Chapel or Primary Assembly, and we look forward to celebrating many students across the year.
You are warmly invited to join us for Primary Assembly this coming Monday (weather permitting) in the courtyard in front of the flagpoles. It is always a joy to gather as a Primary community, celebrate learning and direct our attention to God as we give Him our first portion of each week.

PRIMARY ASSEMBLY in the Courtyard
Monday 23rd February, 8:45am – 8:55am
Parents are invited to join the Primary School staff and students in the Courtyard to enjoy Primary Assembly together.
Please be aware that Primary Assembly may be cancelled at the last minute if the weather does not allow us to meet outside.
Photos and videos of the students are not permitted at Chapel or Assemblies to protect the privacy of other students who may appear in the frame.
Parents are not required to sign in at Reception for Chapel or Assembly.
Please be aware that students must remain with their class and their teachers during these events.
VOLUNTEER INDUCTION AND PARENT
HELPER TRAINING
Northside Christian College is most grateful for the support of our parents and volunteers.
If you would like to build up your Parent Participation hours in 2026 by helping in the classroom, on excursions, around the school grounds, in the Mini Movers Program, or in any capacity, this training must be completed first.

ATTENTION ALL PREP – YEAR 2 PARENTS: CHANGE OF CLOTHES
It is important that all Prep – Year 2 students have a spare change of underwear (and bike shorts for girls and dark grey shorts for boys) in their school bags.
While some students may not be prone to toileting accidents, it can happen for a variety of reasons. Being able to quickly and discretely change into fresh clothing can make such an experience less embarrassing and draw less attention to themselves.
RUNNING CLUB: YEARS 3 – 12
Running Club is open to students from Years 3 – 12. It will take place at the College and will commence in Week 6.
Students wanting to participate will need to put their name down at the PE Office. A Consent2Go invitation will then be sent out.

SIBLINGS OF RUNNING CLUB TRAINERS
Primary School-aged siblings who are not participating in Running Club cannot be left at school without parent/carer supervision before 8:15am.
If you are unable to supervise non-participating siblings, they must be enrolled with Camp Australia for before-school care.

The printed calendar has been replaced with an online College calendar. Please refer to the College calendar now available on our website for College event updates. Information on the calendar is subject to change, therefore it is recommended that this calendar be referred to on a regular basis.
