There is always another level. Another production goal. Another milestone. Another team to build. Another version of yourself you know you are capable of becoming. One of the things I love about being around highperforming people is that the best of them never really believe they have arrived. They are proud of what they have built, but they are still hungry to grow. They continue to raise the standard for themselves. But I also think we have to be careful about how we define that standard. In real estate, it is easy to make everything about numbers. Production matters. Results matter. But there is a much bigger picture. There is a standard for how you treat people. How you respond when a deal falls apart. How you treat the agent sitting across the negotiating table. How you lead your team when things are difficult. How you serve your clients when nobody is watching. How you handle success, and maybe even more importantly, how you handle failure. Those things may never show up on an MLS report, but they say a whole lot about who you are. On October 8th, hundreds of the best in DFW real estate will come together for the Real Producers ESPE Awards. This year’s theme is “The Standard”, and I don’t think we could have picked a better one. Yes, we are going to celebrate incredible production. We are going to recognize some amazing people, hand out awards, dress up, have some fun, and put on one heck of a show. But I hope the night represents something 10 • September 2026
bigger than that. It’s a celebration of people who continue to raise the standard for themselves, their clients, their teams, their businesses, and this industry. The beautiful thing is that your standard doesn’t have to be someone else’s. In fact, I don’t think it should be. There will always be someone doing more, selling more, growing faster, or accomplishing something you haven’t yet. Let that inspire you, not define you. Celebrate the greatness you see in others while continuing to pursue the greatness you know exists within yourself. The standard isn’t the person sitting next to you. The standard is the person you know you’re capable of becoming. Keep raising it.

T
here are moments in life when someone believes in you before you believe in yourself. For Katie Saldivar, that moment happened on an ordinary afternoon after she and her husband had recently moved into a new home. “I often tell people that it’s my husband’s fault,” Katie says with a laugh. Feeling uncertain about what came next in her career, she found herself overwhelmed until her husband offered simple encouragement that would ultimately change her life. “He looked at me and said, ‘I just feel like if you don’t at least try it, you could be missing that one thing that you’re supposed to do.’” That conversation led Katie to begin her real estate licensing in 2015, launching a career that has become far more than helping clients buy and sell homes. Today, as Team Lead of Saldivar Realty Group with Keller Williams, she has built a reputation centered on relationships, compassion, and serving others before anything else. Growing up in Waupaca, Wisconsin, Katie learned early what community looked like. “Everyone knew their neighbors and blue collar work was something to be proud of,” she recalls. The town’s older homes were filled with character, and so were the people who lived in them. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with degrees in psychology and communica-
tions, she spent years working in customer service, from restaurants and hotels to Southwest Airlines. Every position reinforced one lesson. “My work history as a young adult was all things customer service,” she says. “Every role I had involved taking care of people.” That mindset became the foundation of her business. Like many new agents, Katie entered real estate carrying more questions than confidence. She vividly remembers the fear of failure and wondering whether she truly belonged. “I remember being absolutely terrified of failure,” she says. “Realizing that I had to wake up every day with the ‘I’m jobless and need to go find work’ mentality was quite the mindset shift.” Then came a turning point. After successfully navigating one of her first transactions, the experienced broker on the other side expressed surprise that Katie was a brand-new agent. “In that moment I thought, ‘Maybe this really is what I’m supposed to do.’” Over the past decade, her definition of success has evolved dramatically. “When I first started, I thought success was defined by sales numbers,” Katie
says. “For me, I learned quickly that it was defined by impacting lives.” That philosophy extends to every client she serves, regardless of their price point. Whether someone is searching for an affordable rental, purchasing their first home, or selling a luxury property, Katie believes everyone deserves the same attention, guidance, and protection. “We are in the people business, and it just happens to involve houses,” she explains. That perspective shapes every interaction. Katie talks openly with clients about both the financial and emotional sides of moving. She understands that homes are filled with memories, and leaving one behind is rarely just a transaction. “It’s not necessarily in our job description to do things like go help a client pack up their knick- knack collection after being in their home for 30 years,” she says, “but sometimes they could use a friendly face that shows up with coffee and breakfast tacos to come help pack and listen as they tell stories.” She smiles before adding, “I can do all of that while still being a hell of a negotiator and fierce protector of the contract and their money.” That balance between compassion and advocacy has become one of her greatest strengths. Outside of real estate, Katie has discovered another passion that reflects the same servant-hearted approach. She has become deeply involved with TECC West in Lewisville ISD, supporting students pursuing careers in the skilled trades. Her reason is simple. “Our business as agents depends on people like plumbing and electricians,” she says. “We need the people who want to work with their hands and help people.” When Katie learned how the district prepares students for careers in North Fort Worth Real Producers • 19
“TAKE A GENUINE INTEREST IN THE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO WORK WITH, & MAKE THEM YOUR FOCUS.” electrical work, HVAC, woodworking, and other trades, she knew she wanted to help. “When I found out what our district does to give students these opportunities, I knew I needed to be a part of it.” Each year she contributes toward specialized tool kits awarded during Employment Signing Day to outstanding students entering the workforce. The recipients are chosen not simply for grades, but for perseverance, determination, and heart. One conversation with a student’s father reinforced why those efforts matter so much. “He hugged me and told me how special it is that I support the students 20 • September 2026
there the way I do,” Katie remembers. Hearing how meaningful those tool kits were to families who wanted to help their children succeed expanded her understanding of service even further. “It really expanded my thoughts on the impact that can be made, far beyond what my job title speaks to.”
Looking ahead, Katie hopes to expand volunteer opportunities for both her clients and team, creating more chances to give back together. She also encourages new agents to resist the pressure to chase every trend.
For Katie, supporting the trades is about strengthening entire communities.
“My best advice to someone up and coming is never be afraid to go back to the basics,” she says. “Take a genuine interest in the people you want to work with, and make them your focus.”
“We need these people to allow us to best take care of OUR people.”
Ultimately, that has always been Katie’s greatest mission.
Her own life has also shaped the empathy she brings to clients. In 2018, her husband suffered two strokes, turning her world upside down almost overnight. Navigating that difficult season reminded her what truly matters and strengthened her ability to remain calm during life’s most stressful moments.
“I want to be remembered for being the person who genuinely cared about people,” she says. “Someone who made people feel seen and heard.”
“There were some amazing people who helped make sure I was still successful and could keep my business running to support my family,” she says. Those experiences continue to influence how she leads her team and cares for others.
It is a goal inspired by one of her favorite Maya Angelou quotes: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Judging by the clients she serves, the students she champions, and the lives she continues to impact, Katie Saldivar is already leaving exactly that kind of legacy.

For Aaron Meadows, owner of Meadows Garage Doors, the second has always mattered more.
While his brother Jason continued in the family business, Aaron pursued a corporate career, eventually becoming Vice President of Finance. A promotion brought his growing family to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2008 under unforgettable circumstances.

Brittney Kosev Bry Lashbrook All in the Family Growing up in a family of seven teaches lessons you never find in a classroom. For sisters Brittney Kosev and Bryanna “Bry” Lashbrook, it meant learning to negotiate before they ever saw a real estate contract, adapting to life’s challenges, and discovering the importance of showing up for the people around them. “When you’re one of seven, there’s no such thing as privacy, quiet, or getting the last piece of pizza without a strategy,” Brittney laughs. “Growing up in a big family taught us resilience, adaptability, hard work, and how to show up for people.” Those early lessons have become the foundation of BK Real Estate and The Selling Sisters Realty Group, where family, service, and personal growth shape every relationship they build. Although the sisters share the same values, their paths to real estate looked very different.
Brittney attended Texas Tech University before becoming a school librarian, a career she believes prepared her more than people might expect. “I’ve always been a teacher,” she says. “I love helping people understand things, solve problems, and feel confident making decisions. Real estate just gave me a different classroom.”

“Real estate wasn’t some glamorous dream at first,” Brittney says. “I needed extra income. I needed options. I needed to figure out how to support my kids while creating a life I was proud of.”
The sisters have always been close despite their nine-year age difference. Brittney jokes that Bry was her technology expert growing up while she was the family’s entertainer.
What started as a side hustle quickly became something much bigger.
“I always knew her ideas were good,” Bry says with a smile. “Eventually she convinced me to come along for the ride.”

“The partnership is what makes us special,” Brittney explains. “I’m the visionary. Bry is the integrator. I move fast. She asks questions. I create ideas. She creates systems.” Bry agrees that their differences have become one of their greatest strengths. “Our personalities are different, but our values are exactly the same,” she says. “That allows us to serve both clients and agents in ways neither of us could do alone.”

Together, they have built far more than a successful real estate business. The Selling Sisters have closed approximately $200 million in career sales volume, while BK Real Estate surpassed $204 million in brokerage sales last year. Yet those numbers are rarely what excite them most. “Possibility,” Brittney says without hesitation. “Real estate is one of the few industries where you can genuinely change the direction of your life.” That belief extends well beyond helping buyers and sellers. “I’ve seen first-time buyers become investors. I’ve seen agents completely transform their confidence, income, and future. Helping people expand what they believe is possible is my favorite part of this business.” Their passion for investing has become a major part of that mission. Brittney owns short-term, mid-term, and longterm rental properties and regularly teaches agents how to build wealth through real estate instead of simply facilitating transactions. “For me, real estate has never just been about selling houses,” she says. “It’s about creating opportunities.” One book forever changed the way she viewed money. Soon afterward, she bought another investment home, each intended to become part of her children’s future.
“I’ve learned that the biggest ceilings in life aren’t external,” she says. “They’re the ones we place on ourselves.” That mindset continues to guide both sisters as they invest in coaching, education, and systems that help clients build wealth while helping agents build meaningful careers.
“That was the moment I consciously decided the buck stops here,” she says. “We’re changing the trajectory of our family. We’re building assets. We’re creating options.” Bry shares that vision.
When asked how they hope to be remembered, neither mentions awards, rankings, or sales volume.
“Money doesn’t buy happiness,” she says. “But it does buy options. It buys peace of mind. It gives you the ability to spend more time focused on family, purpose, growth, and the things that truly matter.”

Those same principles shape the culture inside BK Real Estate. While many brokerages focus primarily on production, Brittney and Bry have intentionally built a company centered on people. “We genuinely care about our agents the same way we care about our clients,” Brittney says. “We don’t just sell real estate. We invest in people.” That commitment has produced one of the brokerage’s proudest 30 • September 2026
accomplishments: an unusually high agent retention rate, with many former agents eventually returning. “We joke that we’re the brokerage version of a boomerang,” Brittney says. “People come back because they felt supported, cared for, and invested in.” Bry believes that says everything about the company’s mission. “We build people who build businesses,” she says. “That’s not just a slogan. It’s how we operate every day.” Today, Brittney hosts the Cut the BS, Build the Dream podcast, where she challenges
Bry smiles in agreement. “If someone thinks bigger, takes a chance on themselves, or changes their family’s future because of something we taught them,” she says, “that’s the legacy worth leaving.” For two sisters who learned life’s earliest lessons around a crowded dinner table, helping others build better futures has become much more than a business. Some partnerships are built on shared ambition. Others are built on complementary strengths. For Edson and Paige Miranda, their partnership has always been rooted in something even deeper: faith.
Long before they became the husbandand-wife team behind Miranda Realty Team, they were two college students who met at the University of North Texas in Denton. Paige, a Dallas native, brought an outgoing spirit and a gift for connecting with people. Edson, who grew up in Pampa, Texas, found satisfaction in organization, systems, and the details that keep everything moving. Together, they discovered a rare kind of balance, one that would eventually become the bedrock of a family, and a business.
In 2012, they purchased their first house together, a fixer-upper that came with plenty of uncertainty.
“We just complemented each other,” Edson recalls. “I’m the one who loves the paperwork, the systems, the details that keep everything running, while Paige is more of a free spirit, happiest out in the field getting things done.”
They walked away with more than $70,000 in profit, enough to eliminate every dollar of their student loan debt while still having money left for the down payment on their next home.
Their similarities ran just as deep. They even share the same birthday, something they’ve always viewed as a reminder that they were meant to build a life together. While still in college, the couple launched a few businesses, determined to create something of their own. Then the Great Recession changed everything. Like so many others, they pivoted. “We had to get ‘real jobs’ to weather the storm,” they explain. “It would take over a decade before we finally got the chance to walk out our dream of working together again.” Neither imagined that dream would lead them to real estate. Both Edson and Paige understand what it means to work hard because they started early. Raised by single parents who worked multiple jobs to support their families, contributing wasn’t optional.
“We leaned on God, and He directed our steps.” Inspired by the lessons in Rich Dad Poor Dad, they invested sweat equity into that home, completing much of the renovation work themselves. Three years later, they felt called to sell. The result surprised them.
“That’s when we truly understood the power of appreciation and equity, not as abstract real estate terms, but as something that had just set us free.” Today, fourteen years and seven homes later, that experience still shapes every conversation they have with clients. “What we remember most are the people and their stories,” they say. “Every home is a chapter, theirs and ours.” That’s why their conversations rarely begin with square footage or interest rates; they begin with people’s lives, their dreams, their families, and what comes next. “We believe we’re stewards, entrusted to help God’s people accomplish the callings and blessings meant for them here on earth.” For the Mirandas, that isn’t simply a philosophy. It influences every decision they make.
“We started working at 16, helping our parents make ends meet,” they say. “Sales was a natural extension of that work ethic.”
“Early on, success looked more like transactions closed and numbers hit,” they admit. “Over time, we’ve learned it’s just as much about who we say yes to, and who we don’t.”
Those experiences gave them resilience, but it was a home that ultimately changed the direction of their lives.

Edson manages operations, systems, and video production, putting his film school background to good use behind the camera. Paige naturally thrives in front of clients, building relationships and helping families feel at ease.
“We’re not for everyone, and everyone isn’t for us.”
But their proudest moments have nothing to do with statistics.
Instead, they measure success differently.
“It’s anytime we exceed a client’s expectations,” they say. “Those moments are never really about the transaction. They’re about someone getting to move forward into what they were called to do next.”
“To us, success is doing good business with good people. When we do the work well and do it with integrity, it blesses the people we serve and glorifies God. That’s the measure that matters most.” Faith has carried them through seasons that tested every part of their lives. After the recession, there were months when paying rent felt uncertain. There were times when asking family for help became a real possibility. Yet even then, they committed themselves to tithing. “If we’re honest, that offering hurt sometimes when we had so little to give,” they share. “But it taught us something about being good stewards, no matter how much or how little was in the account.” Looking back, those difficult years became the foundation of everything they have built since. Today, that foundation shows up in ways they didn’t expect — Edson named among the Top 250 Real Producers, Paige in the Top 1,000, out of nearly 15,000 agents in their market. Since joining REAL Broker, they’ve closed $18.8 million in sales volume and earned recognition through Hillwood’s Realtor Rewards program for their success across several master-planned communities. 36 • September 2026
The couple’s own strengths continue to complement one another every day.
Their sense of stewardship extends beyond real estate, too. Together, they founded Alliance Network, a hyperlocal news outlet serving their community with a journalistic approach that exists independently of their real estate business. Outside of work, their priorities remain remarkably simple. They serve on the prayer team at their church. They spend time swimming, walking, watching movies with their daughters, and vacationing in Mexico, where Edson was born. Every part of their life reflects the same values that guide their business. Those values point toward something bigger than any single transaction — the next generation, and the legacy they hope to leave behind. “Our two girls are growing up full of love and life,” they say. “Everything we build is for them.” Ultimately, when Edson and Paige think about how they want to be remembered, the answer comes easily. “We want to be remembered for loving Jesus, and for serving God’s people well, not just as agents, but as neighbors and stewards. We want to be remembered for raising our girls right.” Because for the Mirandas, real estate has never been about houses alone. It has always been about faith. It has always been about people. And in every family they help, every relationship they build, and every opportunity to serve, they are creating a legacy they hope will continue for generations to come.
