PUBLISHER’S NOTE
Standard
the
There is always another level.
Another production goal. Another milestone. Another team to build. Another version of yourself you know you are capable of becoming. One of the things I love about being around high-performing people is that the best of them never really believe they have arrived. They are proud of what they have built, but they are still hungry to grow. They continue to raise the standard for themselves. But I also think we have to be careful about how we define that standard. In real estate, it is easy to make everything about numbers. Production matters. Results matter. But there is a much bigger picture. There is a standard for how you treat people. How you respond when a deal falls apart. How you treat the agent sitting across the negotiating table. How you lead your team when things are difficult. How you serve your clients when nobody is 12 • September 2026
watching. How you handle success, and maybe even more importantly, how you handle failure. Those things may never show up on an MLS report, but they say a whole lot about who you are. On October 8th, hundreds of the best in DFW real estate will come together for the Real Producers ESPE Awards. This year’s theme is “The Standard”, and I don’t think we could have picked a better one. Yes, we are going to celebrate incredible production. We are going to recognize some amazing people, hand out awards, dress up, have some fun, and put on one heck of a show. But I hope the night represents something bigger than that. It’s a celebration of people who continue to raise the standard for themselves, their clients, their teams, their businesses, and this industry.
The beautiful thing is that your standard doesn’t have to be someone else’s. In fact, I don’t think it should be. There will
always be someone doing more, selling more, growing faster, or accomplishing something you haven’t yet. Let that inspire you, not define you. Celebrate the greatness you see in others while continuing to pursue the greatness you know exists within yourself. The standard isn’t the person sitting next to you. The standard is the person you know you’re capable of becoming. Keep raising it.

LACY Rushin JUST KEEP MARCHING
WRITTEN BY KATHERINE H. FONDREN PHOTOS BY SCOTT PEEK PHOTOGRAPHY, LLC
Long before she was helping families navigate contracts, inspections, and closing days, Lacy Rushin was standing in front of a classroom.
Growing up in Plano, Texas, she always envisioned herself becoming a teacher. After earning her degree in education from the University of
North Texas, she spent 11 years teaching and coaching, investing in young lives and encouraging them to grow. When she transitioned into real estate in 2017, many people saw it as a career change. Lacy saw something different. “While my career path changed, my purpose never did,” she says. “I still
consider myself a teacher. My classroom just looks a little different now.” That perspective has become the foundation of everything she does. Whether she is helping a first time buyer understand the process or preparing a seller to maximize the value of their home, Lacy believes education is one of the greatest gifts she can offer. The communication, patience, organization, and advocacy she developed as an educator continue to guide every conversation she has with clients. “I want to equip people with the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed decisions,” she says. 20 • September 2026
AGENT TO WATCH
Like many successful agents, Lacy’s journey did not begin with instant confidence. It began with uncertainty, persistence, and one very meaningful opportunity. Her very first clients were her parents. “My dad had always bought and sold our family homes “For Sale By Owner”, so the fact that he and my mom trusted me to guide them through both selling and buying after I became licensed meant the world to me.” It was an unforgettable start, but it was far from easy. “I wanted to quit at least once a month, if not once a week,” she laughs. “I was
constantly joking that I was ‘going to work at Hobby Lobby because at least I would have Sundays off.” Looking back now, those difficult days shaped the professional she would become. “That first year stretched me, humbled me, and taught me perseverance.” Instead of walking away, she kept showing up. That willingness to persevere has carried into every season of her career, including some of life’s most personal challenges. Lacy openly shares that beginning her recovery journey became one of the defining experiences of her life.
“Recovery has taught me humility, integrity, accountability, and grace,” she says. “It has shown me the importance of listening before speaking, serving before selling, and treating every person with dignity and compassion.” While many of her clients may never know every chapter of her story, they experience its impact through the way she serves. “I want every person I work with to feel heard, respected, educated, and cared for because I know what it means to need those things myself.” That heart for people explains why her favorite part of real estate has very little to do with houses. North Dallas Real Producers • 21
“My favorite part of being a real estate agent is the people,” she says. “Real estate is rarely just about buying or selling a house. It can mean a new beginning, a growing family, a fresh start, a difficult goodbye, or a major life transition.” For Lacy, every transaction represents someone’s life story.
“MY FOCUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO SHOW UP EVERY DAY, SERVE PEOPLE WELL, AND DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING
“At the end of the day, the homes matter, but the people matter more.” Over the past nine years, that mindset has helped her build a thriving business, closing approximately $75 million in career sales volume, including around $10 million last year alone. Along the way, she has earned recognition as a multiple year Real Producers Top 500 agent and has been honored by D Magazine as both a Top Real Estate Producer and Best Real Estate Agent. Still, those accolades are not what she treasures most. “I have always been more comfortable flying under the radar and simply doing the work,” she says. “The recognition that means the most to me comes from the trust of my clients, their referrals, and the relationships that continue long after closing.” That shift reflects how her definition of success has evolved. “Today, success is about impact,” she explains. “It is knowing that I made someone’s life a little easier during what is often one of the most stressful seasons they will experience.” For Lacy, success is measured by lives touched rather than transactions completed. Her commitment to serving also extends beyond what most people ever see. She is quick to point out that real estate is not always glamorous.
22 • September 2026
“If bushes need to be trimmed before photos, dishes need to be washed before an open house, blinds need dusting, windows need cleaning, pillows need fluffed, lights need changed, or trash cans need moved out of sight, I am willing to jump in and help.” No task is too small if it helps her clients succeed. At home, her greatest motivation is her family. She and her husband, Alex, cherish every opportunity to spend time with their two daughters, who are both away at college. Whether it is gathering with extended family for game nights, visiting her grandmother and young nephew, or enjoying a vacation by the water, those moments keep life in perspective. Her active involvement in church also reminds her that relationships and service remain life’s greatest priorities. As she looks toward the future, Lacy is less concerned with production goals than with faithfulness. “My focus has always been to show up every day, serve people well, and do the next right thing,” she says. “I believe God is in charge of my business, and my responsibility is to be faithful with the opportunities and relationships placed in front of me.” Perhaps no phrase captures her journey better than the advice that has stayed with her throughout her career: just keep marching. Inspired by the biblical story of Jericho, the lesson reminds her that progress is not always visible. “There are seasons in this business where you are doing all the right things, but you may not see immediate results,” she says. “You have to keep showing up, keep serving well, and just keep marching.” It is simple advice, but after nine years of serving others with integrity, humility, and a teacher’s heart, it is also the philosophy that continues to move both her business and her life forward.

A LEGACY OF SERVICE
WRITTEN BY KATHERINE H. FONDREN PHOTOS BY SCOTT PEEK PHOTOGRAPHY, LLC
Long before Jenny Weidner took over the insurance agency that bears her name, the foundation for its future was already being built in Allen, Texas. Her stepfather, Don Brazeal, started a State Farm agency in 1975 and later built the very office building where Jenny and her team still work today. What began as one man’s business eventually became something much bigger: a three-generation family legacy rooted in the same North Texas community Jenny has called home for most of her life. Today, after nearly 25 years as a State Farm agent, Jenny continues that legacy with a simple purpose at the heart of everything she does. “We are here to make people’s lives easier with whatever insurance help they need,” Jenny says. “Whether it’s recovering from a big house fire, or just needing to understand a bill, we have a full team of experienced caring professionals ready to help.”
A Business Close to Home Jenny grew up in Allen, graduated from Allen High School, and went on to attend Texas A&M University, graduating with the Class of 1996. After college, she worked as a headhunter and was considering starting her own recruiting firm when her stepfather decided to retire. At first, taking over his agency was not necessarily the obvious next step. But as Jenny learned more about the business, she began to see the impact it had on the people around her. “I learned more about his business and how much he helps the local community and decided to go for it!” she recalls. “State Farm hired me as his replacement in 2002, and the rest is history.” More than two decades later, Jenny still lives just a few miles from her office. Her customers are neighbors, friends,
families, and business professionals she may see around town. That personal connection has shaped the way she approaches insurance and service. “We are a three-generation family business with deep ties to our local North Texas community,” she says. For Jenny, those roots matter. This is not a business built from a distance. It is a longtime local agency that has grown alongside the community it serves.
Obsessed With Serving Jenny’s agency offers homeowners, auto, and life insurance, along with financial services, serving clients throughout North Texas. While the office specializes in homeowners insurance, its real distinction comes from the team’s commitment to being available when people need them. The office is fully staffed and open on Saturdays. The team aims to answer every call by the second ring and return every call within an hour. Jenny even gives customers and referral partners her personal cell phone number. “We are customer focused in every way,” she explains. “Whether it’s a customer or referral partner who needs a quick, hassle-free closing or someone who needs an office that is open and fully staffed on a Saturday, we are here to help.” That accessibility can be particularly valuable for real estate professionals navigating time-sensitive closings. Jenny understands that insurance is often one piece of a much larger transaction, and delays can create stress for everyone involved.
The People Behind the Promise Jenny is quick to credit her team for bringing that standard of service to life every day. Cara Boone, Sujeet Srinivasan, Nathan Padilla, and Nikole Carter support sales, while Nikole also assists with customer service. Kelly Schlager, Cricket Semler, Debbie Biggs, and Corinne Reifschneider round out the customer service team. Together, they have helped build an agency with more than 1,000 fivestar Google reviews and recognition as Best Insurance Agency by both D Magazine and the Allen American Readers’ Choice awards. Yet Jenny does not measure success by awards alone. “My amazing customers, community and referral partners who have given me the opportunity to earn their trust are the biggest reasons for the agency’s success,” she says. Her own definition of success is equally centered on others: “Success is giving back to my local community and being the person who comes to mind when someone thinks about insurance.” That philosophy is reflected in one of her favorite quotes: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” For Jenny, service is not simply a business strategy. It is woven into the way she views her work, her team, and the community around her.
Family, Community, and the Road Ahead
“We aim to answer every call by the second ring, return every call within an hour and are here to help the insurance aspect of a closing go quickly and smoothly,” she says.
Away from the office, Jenny’s life remains centered on the people and places she loves. She is married with two adult children in college. Her son attends the University of Alabama, prompting an enthusiastic “Roll Tide!”, while her daughter attends Arizona State University.
For referral partners, the goal is simple: less hassle, faster communication, and confidence that someone is paying attention to the details.
The family enjoys college visits, beach trips, and long walks, especially along the Twin Creeks walking trails in Allen. Jenny is also an animal lover with two North Dallas Real Producers • 27

rescue cats and two cockapoos, Charlie and Gilbert. Even when discussing life outside the agency, however, the lines between work, friendship, and family are beautifully blurred. “I love my business, customers and employees,” Jenny says. “My job does not feel like work because it is made up of people who are my friends and family.” Looking ahead, Jenny and her team remain focused on finding better ways to serve their community while continuing to grow as a topproducing agency, particularly in homeowners insurance. After nearly 25 years, the mission remains remarkably consistent. Be available. Answer the phone. Help people through difficult moments. Make closings easier. Support the community. Earn trust one relationship at a time. “We are here to make things easy!” Jenny says. “If you need an insurance partner that can help you get through closing easily and quickly, please keep me in mind!” For Jenny Weidner, insurance may be the business, but service is the legacy. And after three generations in the community she still calls home, that legacy continues to grow. 28 • September 2026

MORTGAGE
MO D ER N HO ME
A Different Way Home
WRITTEN BY KATHERINE H. FONDREN PHOTOS BY VANESSA CORRAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Imelda Garcia
After more than 12 years working side by side in the mortgage industry, Imelda Garcia and Robin Grist had seen just about every kind of homebuying scenario. They have helped first-time buyers take their first steps toward ownership, guided families through selling and buying simultaneously, worked with self-employed borrowers, and helped clients begin building real estate investment portfolios. Along the way, they also learned an important lesson: When it comes to mortgages, there is rarely one solution that works for everyone. Eventually, they decided it was time to build something of their own. That vision became Modern Home Mortgage, an independent mortgage brokerage led by Broker Owner Imelda Garcia and built around personalized service, strategic thinking, and strong relationships with both clients and real estate professionals. “We provide personalized financing solutions with an approach tailored to each client’s unique needs,” Imelda says. “Our team delivers a concierge-style experience with direct communication, fast turnaround times, and expert guidance from application through closing.” For Imelda and Robin, opening Modern Home Mortgage was an opportunity to take everything they had learned during more than a decade in lending and create the kind of company they had always wanted to represent. As independent mortgage brokers, they have access to wholesale lenders, allowing them to compare programs
and structures instead of attempting to fit every borrower into the same lending model. That flexibility becomes especially valuable when a transaction is anything but straightforward. Some buyers arrive ready to purchase immediately. Others need time to improve their financial position. A self-employed client may require a different approach, while an investor may be evaluating a property through an entirely different lens. Imelda and Robin welcome those conversations. They believe there is value in asking, “But what if we tried it this way?”
Sometimes that means running numbers on a property before an offer is submitted. Other times, it requires taking another look at a difficult scenario and identifying an option that was not immediately apparent. Occasionally, the best solution is simply staying connected with a prospective buyer for months until the timing is right. Whatever the circumstances, the goal is not to rush someone through the process. They want clients to understand it. That means explaining available options, answering questions, and making sure borrowers feel prepared to make informed decisions about one of the largest financial commitments of their lives. North Dallas Real Producers • 31
Robin Grist
That relationship-driven philosophy comes naturally because the company itself grew from one. After working together for more than 12 years, Imelda and Robin have developed a friendship that extends far beyond the office. They share interests in real estate, fashion, food, exploring new places throughout DFW, and, perhaps most importantly, finding time to enjoy the lives they work so hard to build. Family is equally important. Robin is raising a 17-year-old son, while Imelda’s 17-year-old nephew is a significant part of her life. Their households also include several four-legged family members, including Robin’s golden retriever and Imelda’s Bernedoodle and English bulldog.
The same philosophy guides their relationships with real estate agents. After years in the industry, Imelda understands how much work goes into earning a client’s trust. When an agent introduces that client to Modern Home Mortgage, she recognizes the responsibility that comes with the referral. Their role is not simply to provide financing. It is to become an extension of the agent’s service. That means keeping buyers informed, communicating with the agent throughout the process, responding when questions arise, and working collaboratively toward the closing table. “When an agent sends a client our way, we take that trust seriously,” Imelda explains. That collaborative mindset is especially important in a business where timing can make all the difference. A buyer may need updated numbers before submitting an offer, an unexpected question may surface during a transaction, or a new strategy may be necessary to keep everything moving. 32 • September 2026
Being accessible and responsive is simply part of the service Imelda and Robin want their partners to expect. Their boutique model allows them to remain personally involved while offering the expertise developed through more than a decade in the mortgage industry. Modern Home Mortgage is designed to be “knowledgeable but approachable, professional without feeling corporate, and personal enough that clients and agent partners never feel like another transaction.” That last part is particularly important. Imelda and Robin are not interested in being someone’s lender for only one purchase. Their goal is to build relationships that continue as clients’ lives evolve. A first-time buyer today may become a move-up buyer years later. A homeowner may eventually purchase an investment property. Families grow, careers change, financial goals shift, and new opportunities emerge. Imelda wants Modern Home Mortgage to be the team clients already know they can call when those moments arrive.
Those personal connections reinforce the way they approach their work. Behind every application is a person making decisions about a future, a family, or an investment they have worked hard to pursue. For Imelda, great lending requires understanding that bigger picture. It also requires knowing when the obvious answer may not be the only answer. Whether they are helping a first-time buyer understand financing, working through a complicated scenario, supporting an investor, or collaborating with a real estate agent on an upcoming offer, Imelda and Robin approach each situation with the same mindset: listen first, explore the possibilities, and communicate throughout the process. Modern Home Mortgage may be the company they ultimately built, but its foundation was created during the many years they spent learning what clients and agents truly need from a lending partner. “Take care of the client, communicate well, and work together to get them home.” For Imelda Garcia and Robin, that remains both the strategy and the standard.

BUILT TOGETHER. BUILT ON FAITH. Continuing the Legacy of John Bertrand WRITTEN BY KATHERINE H. FONDREN PHOTOS BY DESIREE ROBERTS PHOTOGRAPHY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS SUBMITTED BY CORY BERTRAND
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” — 1 Peter 2:24 When John Bertrand faced the final and most difficult chapter of his life, those closest to him witnessed the same qualities that had defined him for decades: a strong faith, quiet strength, generosity, and a deep desire to reassure others. Even as cancer weakened his body, John continued to be brave in light of his suffering. His wife, Cory, remembers a conversation with John when she asked whether he questioned why he had to suffer so much. “I remember one night asking him, ‘Have you ever questioned why the Lord was allowing you to go through so much suffering?’” Cory remembers. “His response is something I will never forget. ‘I have no right to question suffering when Jesus endured the ultimate suffering for us on the cross.’ His walk with Jesus was a beautiful thing to witness.” Cory wrote these words in a final love letter to John that was placed in his coffin. His answer reflected the faith that had guided his life. That faith became the foundation of John’s life, marriage, real estate career, and the team he and Cory built together. Born and raised in Dallas, John attended Bishop Lynch High School and spent approximately 20 years in restaurant management, primarily with On the
Border in Lubbock. John met Cory there in 1996 while he was working as a server and she was working as a bartender. In 1999, the same year he graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in restaurant and hotel management, he married Cory, and their story eventually became a 26-year marriage built on love and partnership. Real estate was already part of John’s family history. His parents and brother operated B4 Realty in Farmers Branch, and John earned his license in 2002. For years, he worked part time with Keller Williams in Lubbock while continuing his restaurant career until they moved to McKinney in 2009. “We moved to McKinney because On The Border transferred John to manage the Allen location,” explains Cory, “and it also allowed us to be closer to family.” Then came a turning point. In 2011, John came home and told Cory he could no longer continue in restaurant management. Financially, they were struggling. Cory’s personal training business was bringing in little income, and the future felt uncertain. Together, they sat in their living room and prayed. “We gave it all to God,” Cory recalls. John went all-in on real estate, and in 2012, he joined his parents’ brokerage.

Cory earned her real estate license, and the couple began taking every opportunity they could find. They purchased leads, worked tirelessly, and trusted that their efforts would eventually gain momentum. Within a year, the business took off. Then in 2014, they chose to join Keller Williams McKinney because they loved the culture, training, and growth opportunities and officially established The Bertrand Team. What began as a husband-and-wife team eventually grew into something much bigger. In 2018, John and Cory began to gradually build a team intentionally
united by the same values that guided them from the beginning—faith, integrity, servant leadership, and genuine care for people. Adding longtime administrative assistant May Wandrei and agents Emily Parman, Dede Vanderpool, and Chance Benjamin, the Bertrands assembled their team with each member playing an important role in helping carry their vision forward, and today, they remain committed to serving clients the way John believed they should be served.

knew they could come to him for advice, encouragement, or prayer. “Everyone knew that when you met John Bertrand, there was a certain peace about him,” Cory says.
For John, building a team was never simply about production. He wanted people who were honest, hardworking, and committed to integrity. His door was always open, and team members
John was the calm problem-solver behind the business. He was gifted at handling contracts, leading the team, following up with clients, and bringing a steady sense of peace to even the most challenging situations. Yet he always credited Cory’s lead generation efforts for helping the business flourish.
Their success brought considerable recognition. The Bertrand Team has appeared on the Real Producers list each year since its inception, ranked among the Top 50, and earned recognition from D Magazine and other publications. Most recently, the team achieved Keller Williams’ Double Platinum million-dollar agent distinction, an award John accepted in person despite being seriously ill. But rankings were never what mattered most to him. John cared about relationships. That spirit extended throughout the community. He served on Keller Williams’ ALC committee, participated in RED Day, supported local schools and youth sports, and supported TREPAC. For six years, the team purchased Girl Scout cookies from clients’ children and donated them to local police officers and firefighters. Last year, they also delivered cookies to the oncology unit at UT Southwestern to thank John’s doctors. John was diagnosed with duodenal adenocarcinoma in November 2024, on his and Cory’s 25th wedding anniversary. Over the following 18 months, he endured chemotherapy, surgery, alternative treatments, hospital visits, and relentless pain. Yet his faith remained steadfast. Even when he could barely walk, John continued going to the office. As his condition worsened, Cory became his full-time caregiver. From a room at the front of their home, he read his Bible daily and wrote notes on cards, continuing to seek God through his suffering. Two weeks before his death, John said to Cory, “Honey, I really feel like the Lord is going to be calling me home soon.” It was at that time he and Cory had one final conversation about the future of The Bertrand Team. John told her they had invested too much faith, sacrifice, blood, sweat, and tears into building the business to let it end with him. He asked her to continue
what they had built together. Cory promised him she would. “That promise changed everything,” Cory says. “This business was never just about selling homes. It was something we built together through faith, perseverance, and God’s faithfulness. Continuing it is one of the greatest ways I can honor John.” He passed away at home on May 7 surrounded by family, just weeks before what would have been his 56th birthday. Today, Cory leads The Bertrand Team with that promise in mind. Together with May, Emily, Dede, Chance, and the entire team, she is committed to preserving the culture she and John established—a foundation built on faith, honesty, generosity, servant leadership, and putting people before production. For Cory, continuing The Bertrand Team is about carrying on what they built together. It is about honoring the man she loved, fulfilling the promise she made to him, and continuing the mission they built together.
Travis Book- Team Leader KW McKinney “There aren’t enough words to fully express what a remarkable man John was or the impact he had on everyone he encountered. He was a friend to all, a constant supporter of those around him, and someone you could always count on. He leaves behind an incredible legacy that will continue through his family, the real estate industry, our office, and the countless lives he touched.”
John’s legacy is found not only in awards or sales volume, but in the lives he impacted, the people he mentored, the clients he served, and the team that continues to live out the values he modeled every day. He was a devoted Red Raider football fan, a racquetball player, a lover of 1980s music, Bahamas beaches, cruises, family gatherings, and his Dachshunds, Stinky and Bebe. Above all, Cory remembers a humble servant of God who gave generously, fought fiercely for others, and always made time for people. The Bertrand Team will continue, carrying forward the values John established from the beginning: faith, honesty, hard work, generosity, and service. His favorite lesson was one he lived until his final days: Put your trust in God. Keep going when circumstances seem impossible. And never underestimate the difference one faithful life can make.
May Wandrei- Team Coordinator The Bertrand Team “John always led our team with compassion and brought a sense of calm to every challenge we faced. His leadership created a culture where people felt valued and supported. He will always be remembered as the legend who built this incredible team.”

Joey Bertrand Chief Executive Officer Risk Agency (John’s nephew) “One thing that always stood out to me is how overwhelmingly loved John was by his clients and peers. It’s such a unique trait to basically have everyone like you so much and not even try hard to make it happen. He was just the calming presence to a lot of those around him that thrived on it.”
Richard Licare Operating Principal, KW McKinney “John was a man of deep Christian faith who built an extraordinary real estate team. His values, integrity, and genuine care for people were evident in everything he did. I told him many times that he ran the best team meeting I have ever attended because every person knew they mattered.”
Dede Vanderpool- Agent The Bertrand Team “John was much more than a leader; he was a father figure to me. He was kind and offered guidance that extended far beyond business. He had a unique way of making people feel supported and valued.”
Chance Benjamin- Agent The Bertrand Team
Emily Parman- Agent The Bertrand Team “John was a wonderful leader and role model. He was always available for a funny story, advice or just to chat about the weather. We will miss him deeply.”

“John was more than a mentor—he was a trusted friend and an honorable leader. His passion for his family, his clients, and the team he and Cory built together was evident in everything he did. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will endure through the countless lives he touched and the legacy of The Bertrand Team, which will continue to honor the values he lived by every day.”
Jordan Espeseth Co-owner, DFW Real Producers “John was one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. He supported me and believed in Real Producers from the very beginning, but more importantly, he was simply a good, honest, God-fearing man who genuinely cared for the people around him. Rest in peace, John.”

AGENT SPOTLIGHT
Morales Andrea
Genuine Care
WRITTEN BY KATHERINE H. FONDREN PHOTOS BY VANESSA CORRAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Long before Andrea Morales ever handed a client the keys to a new home, she knew what it meant to roll up her sleeves and get to work.
Growing up, Andrea watched her father build a remarkable life through perseverance. After being drafted into war, he returned home, earned an engineering degree, and built a career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Later, he began investing in real estate, eventually acquiring 12 properties and creating the family business, Archuleta Rentals. Andrea and her sister were part of it all. “We grew up helping with the business in every way we could, answering 40 • September 2026
phones, sharing information about the homes, cleaning properties, and assisting with maintenance,” Andrea recalls. “With no brothers in the family, there was never a question that we would roll up our sleeves and help.” Those early years planted something lasting. Andrea learned about property and investment, but more importantly, she learned humility, responsibility, and the value of doing what needed to be done. “We had everything we needed, though not everything we wanted,” she says. “But we were happy, grounded, and grateful.”
back, I can see how each chapter was preparing me for this one. Today, I cannot imagine doing anything else.”
Showing Up When It Matters For Andrea, genuineness is not a carefully crafted business strategy. It is simply how she chooses to treat people.
Trust That Speaks for Itself Over 10 years later, Andrea has built a career with more than $55 million in volume, including over $11 million last year. She was ranked number 3 in the Coldwell Banker APEX Allen office for 2025 and has earned recognition as a Best of D agent, a RealTrends Verified Agent in Texas, a Real Producers Top Agent, and a Luxury Property Specialist for Coldwell Banker Global Luxury. Yet the moments that confirmed she had found her calling had little to do with numbers or awards.
An Unexpected Road Home Driven from an early age, Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from New Mexico State University and later completed her master’s degree at Arizona State University. She spent more than a decade working in semiconductor manufacturing, often finding herself as the youngest woman in the room and having to prove her worth.
They came when clients began referring their friends and families.
Leading teams and projects became her strength. She learned how to bring different departments together, solve complex problems, and move people toward a common goal. But marriage, motherhood, and several cross-country moves eventually shifted her priorities.
One client’s words have remained with her: “I don’t need to worry about this because you are working with them.”
“I started hearing people share their experiences of working with me in a way that was incredibly humbling,” Andrea says. “It made me realize that I had become more than just the REALTOR® in the transaction. I had become someone they trusted.”
“To me, there is no greater compliment,” Andrea says. “That level of trust is the heart of why I do what I do.”
“I do not change who I am from one client to the next,” she says. “I strive to serve every person with the same heart, care, and commitment, regardless of the price point, circumstance, or season of life they are in.” That commitment was tested during one particularly difficult transaction. Andrea was helping a family sell their home while simultaneously purchasing another, but repeated closing delays created a stressful domino effect. Their children were already enrolled in a new school, plans had been made, and emotionally, the family had already moved forward. Then Andrea received a call from the client’s husband. He asked her to come over because he believed she was the only person who could help his wife see a path forward. Andrea sat with her at the kitchen table for hours, working through every concern and every possible next step until they had a plan. “By the end of that conversation, I could see the relief on her face,” Andrea recalls. “For me, it was a powerful example of what it truly means to be a trusted advisor, not just managing
When her family arrived in Dallas in late 2013, Andrea stood at a crossroads. She wanted a career that would allow her to be present for her family, connected to her community, and invested in work where relationships and service truly mattered. Her husband reminded her of something she had been doing naturally for years. With every move, Andrea had been the one helping their family find its footing, connecting them with schools, sports, churches, neighbors, and community. Real estate suddenly made sense. “I never imagined that life would lead me to Texas or that I would become a REALTOR®,” she says. “But looking North Dallas Real Producers • 41
a transaction, but helping people find steadiness and clarity in the middle of a life-changing moment.”
For Andrea, every opportunity is another chance to serve, grow, and show up fully.
Running Her Own Race
“I hope my lasting impact is that I brought light, warmth, and genuine care into every room I entered,” she says. “I want people to feel that my
Early in her career, Andrea measured success by watching what everyone else was doing. Eventually, she realized comparison was pulling her away from what felt authentic. She shifted her attention toward relationships. “Once I shifted my focus from chasing success to investing in people, everything began to change,” she says. “The business started to flow in a way that felt more natural, more aligned, and more meaningful.” That philosophy extends beyond closing day. Andrea frequently hosts client events in her home, creating opportunities to reconnect with those she has served. During one gathering, a casual conversation with a client became deeply personal. As the room emptied around them, Andrea stayed and listened. Her husband quietly took their daughter to a soccer game, understanding without explanation that Andrea needed to remain exactly where she was. “That conversation reminded me that this work often becomes much more than helping someone buy or sell a home,” she says. “Over time, we are invited into some of the most personal and meaningful parts of people’s lives.” Andrea’s family and faith remain her foundation. After 25 years of marriage to her best friend, she continues to approach challenges with the mindset that has followed her since childhood: roll up your sleeves and get going. Her husband’s favorite advice keeps her moving forward. The more “at bats” people get in life, he reminds her, the more likely they are to strike out occasionally. But there was once a time when they might not have had the opportunity to step up to the plate at all. 42 • September 2026

presence made them feel seen, valued, and encouraged.” That may be the clearest reflection of Andrea Morales herself. Her work ethic pushes her to give everything she has, but her genuineness ensures that the people beside her never feel like just another transaction.

EVENT RECAP
North Dallas The Client Whisperer & Dallas Masterclass PHOTOS BY SCOTT PEEK PHOTOGRAPHY LLC
Our latest North Dallas/Dallas Real Producers Masterclass of 2026 was held on August 6th, and this one was all about understanding people. The energy was high, the room was engaged, and for a morning event, coffee was surprisingly optional. Wayne Salmans led an interactive Masterclass called “The Client Whisperer,” diving into how some of the best in the business read people, calm emotions, navigate tough conversations, and ultimately move clients to action. Because knowing the market is only part of the job. The best agents and businesses also know how to understand the person sitting across from them. Attendees learned practical ways to better understand what clients are really thinking, build trust, calm nervous buyers, navigate difficult sellers, handle resistance, and communicate recommendations in a way people can actually hear and accept. The goal isn’t to manipulate people. It’s to understand them well enough to confidently lead them. 46 • September 2026

Q: What does it cost to be featured as an RP Top Agent?
Q: How do you become a Real Producers Top Agent? A: In all of DFW, there are roughly 60,000 licensed agents, meaning there are ~15,000 agents in each of our four communities. We rank all those agents based off their yearly MLS sales volume. In years past, we congratulated the Top 500 Agents, and we still are, but in 2026, we are adding a other groups to our community… all in the RP Top 1000! These agents are in the top 6%.
A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. How, you ask? Because of the businesses that your peers have recommended, who partner with Real Producers, and invest in this community to support you. These companies have all been recommended by top agents and have been vetted by us to ensure they are of the highest quality. So instead of you paying $5k - $10k for this feature…they cover all those costs for you! Pretty incredible, right?

Q: Does Real Producers host events?
A: The Top 1000 agents in each community will receive the digital magazine for the year. The Top 500 agents will also receive the magazine physically to their mailbox. Our RP Vetted Businesses also receive the magazine physically and digitally.
A: Yes, we host many different events throughout the year! Some large 400-800 people, some 75-250 people, and other more intimate events that are 30-50 people. We do Social Events, Magazine Celebration Events, an Awards Gala, and Masterclass Events. You can see quick recaps of some of our events under the “Events” tab on our website.
