Hello friends,
We are very happy to introduce you to the latest collections from the AMT studio! This season is all about letting your imagination soar, and the freedom to let nothing but color and beauty guide your creativity. If you are looking for a little escape, these collections are filled with a dopamine dose to keep you smiling.
The Heiress basics family has grown! We begin the April release with what I’m calling the “little sister” to my Heiress collection – welcome to Little Heiress. The simplicity of these prints adds solid footing to the program but without any of the snoring! The two collections together (see back cover) create an absolute dream world of blenders for the discerning maker. Next, my illustration heart took the art reins and rendered a world of creatures and florals in Mosaic Menagerie These big and little animals puzzle themselves together seamlessly with their environments, whether florals or stripes or clouds, for rich and truly unique designs. However, they are just as usable in quilts and accessories as any clever floral on your shelf.
We are very proud of the unique woven designs that Juliana curated for us in Hide & Seek. We worked closely with our mills to create less than typical stripes and plaids which include some special space-dyed elements in a saturated but approachable palette. Finally, Sunseekers is a collection that I could compare to eating your dessert first! I started the collection with a past favorite print (now called Seeking) that my customers (and I) simply could not get enough of, but with new colors. The supporting prints were all inspired by sunbursts, fans, and radiating light. There are so many captivating details to enjoy with this group of fabrics.
In addition to collection quilts, my Bespoke No.4 Quilt was designed around the beloved Seeking print as a focal point. I promise it is MUCH simpler than it looks! Once again, the Bespoke quilt is offered as an all-inclusive kit or as a stand-alone pattern. Backings No.6 includes my “Cheetah Cloth” and “Embroidery” designs in exciting scales, which we are also offering as 3-yard precuts for simple quilt shop displays. There are also many charming projects (including my new “Friendly Frolic Pillow Shams”) that show off the collections beautifully.
We hope that you can feel the energy and love that we put into all of our art and designs. We certainly feel honored to dream up new projects for you, and very gratified when they inspire you!

Catching up to her big sister Heiress, is Little Heiress. This expansion of my nostalgic basics offers the same stitch-evoking forms as Heiress but with a more simplistic interpretation. The pared down style grows the utility of the fabrics to even more genres of quilt-making and gets them a little closer to almost solids. The result is a striking graphic spectrum on its own, but when combined with Heiress, a full and beautiful color story is told.

This collection is an artful look at the natural world where I’ve invited some charming animals to join floral and graphic scenes. Horses, rabbits, storks, cheetahs, butterflies and more all find themselves nestled into hand-drawn spaces as though they have always been there. While the theme of the collection centers around these clever creatures, the prints themselves are universally appealing without the animal taking over the scene. They rather feel as though they have been assembled together like a mosaic work of art.

This beginner friendly patchwork quilt is a nice opportunity to learn sashing and cornerstones while featuring the interesting elements in each of the Mosaic Menagerie fabrics. Every 12” block combines a feature fabric with two beautiful coordinating Little Heiress prints for a foolproof palette. Because of the simplicity, it is extremely easy to adjust the scale to be larger or smaller by adding or subtracting blocks.

I am thrilled to revisit my favorite Sunseekers print and as I recolored, it seemed to worthy to have a whole collection fully built around it – and named after it! Like the original print itself, Sunseekers is a colorful, lyrical, hand-drawn adventure that makes you forget your worries (at least for a moment). Embracing the sunburst theme, every print radiates in some form or another, and there are plenty of finger-itching fussy cutting temptations. The variety of scale balances out the flamboyance to allow the quilter a headstart in designing their next masterpiece.

Showing off exactly what these prints do best, this quilt is a stunner of a star filled with a bit of fussy cutting, plenty of color and no shortage of drama. The 8-point star gets a little twist – with a variation in diamond size as well as an extra boost –set against a deep garden of boisterous blooms. A simple border from a fabulous fabric is polished off with mitered corners leaving nothing left to want!
Juliana Horner curated the latest AMT wovens collection, and it has everything we love about yarn-dyed fabrics. A stunning palette is offered in two scales of plaids and two scales of stripes. All of the designs alternate between solid and yarn-dyed spaces for unexpected beauty throughout the collection. Certain colors appear, disappear, then reappear as they pass through the weave of the cloth. The hand is soft and stable so it is beautiful for both quilt making and garment making.

For a playful experiment we have taken the Hide & Seek collection and visually “woven” them together across the quilt space for an interesting and modern design. Looking a bit like an irregular plaid, the stripes of fabric meet at several foundation pieced intersections. Inspired by improvisational design, the shapes are simply described by their dimension for a simpler-than-it-looks process.

This quilt is so joyful if feels like it is just about to start a conversation with you! It is comprised of a beautiful feature center, 9-patches, octagonal wheel blocks, appliqued circles and finished with a Flying Geese border. The key to its appeal is the color arrangement and a dash of fussy cutting. This season I used the Cheery colorway from all four of our collections, and it is definitely cheery!
