PERFORMANCE TUNING OPTIONS
Fine-tune your bar pressure on the rear wing tip: closer to the wingtip for a lighter, more forgiving feel or closer to the centre for more direct steering and shorter travel.
ONE STRUT
The lightweight single strut design allows the kite to stay airborne with minimal wind, generate efficient low-end power, and maintain responsive handling and easy relaunch, even at low line tension.
3-STRUT DYNAMIC MANOEUVRABILITY
Lighter weight and reduced structural rigidity allow for faster, more direct steering and quicker turning, making the kite more playful and easier to control in a wide range of wind conditions.
STABLE 5-STRUT PERFORMANCE

North exclusive 3DY Carbon Unidirectional reinforcement tape is run in the direction of the load paths, transferring the load from your bindings to the edge efficiently.
The ultra-lightweight dual-density foam core minimises weight while maintaining strength in high-load areas. Higher-density foam reinforcement under the heels prevents core crush.

Anatomical support, structure and stability
Contoured anatomical footbed and ramped chassis increases lateral support, structure and stability. The footpad is ergonomically angled to encourage optimised weight distribution and knee alignment, helping to minimise common rider injuries. Outer angled heel inserts give increased lateral support, helping to ensure your foot rolls properly to provide a stable landing and protecting your knees and ankles when loading up to release into the air.
Ramped toe bar
The ramped toe bar has been engineered with an angled tactile edge to get purchase on and prevent your foot from slipping out during high rotation tricks. We’ve lowered the toebar a little on the Flex LX to provide a better fit for all different foot types.
Custom comfort
4 new sizes for a more personalised fit in S, M, L, XL. To ensure the right fit, check that there’s enough room for your toes to stretch and flex, and make sure the adjustable top strap doesn’t slip or rub. The upper should feel secure, but not too tight, and the footbed should match the shape of your foot.
Adjustable top-loading strap
For quick setup and a perfect fit for all sizes. Strap Adjusters allow comfortable foot positioning, a secure feel and use of the toe bar. Simply drop the inner and outer Strap Adjusters into the baseplate from the top, move forward or backward then pull up into your desired position. For a more locked-in feeling set the inner two Strap Adjusters further apart. The rear eyelets have an outward kick to ensure your foot never comes in contact with the edge of the eyelet on hard landings.
Maximum Shock Absorption
The triple density dynamic support technology - absorbs and disperses impact after gravity-defying boosts, protects your heels and makes for softer landings. Softer high-density impact pads protect the heel from board contact on big landings, and are dual-moulded with a medium-density layer for serious impact protection. Another softer insert pod provides strategically-placed comfort under the ball of the foot.
Lighter weight
Small and Medium are 22% lighter and the larger sizes are 14% lighter because we’ve reduced the footprint.
KnitFlex seamless topside comfort
Our lightweight and responsive seamless KnitFlex strap inners are engineered for topside comfort and support. The Knitflex fabric is pre-tensioned and laminated to the conforming foam inner, so it can create a 3D-curve without any bunching or creasing, and there’s no inner stitching to rub on your foot. The soft foam allows your foot to shuffle more easily into a locked-in position.
Precision velcro straps reduce water lift
Injection velcro decreases sand retention and extended top flaps increase hold and reduce water lift. The split inner-velcro design ensures a custom fit on top of the feet for all shapes, sizes and rider styles. Position the velcro straps wider apart for a more fixed feel, closer together for easy board-offs. Our fully re-engineered top flap gives a strong hold without compromising strap flexibility.
Easy stance adjustment to suit all riders.
Our Flex Pro mounting system uses standardised M6x16mm screw hardware to fasten the binding to the board in various positions. As a starting point we recommend using Setting I (debossed on the topside of chassis) for North 2020 – 2022 boards. Use Setting II for 2023 boards onwards with FlipTech. From there you can change your duck stance, move the bindings backwards (heelside) or forwards (toeside) or set the position for a wide or narrow stance.
Compatible with other boards
The oval fastening hole allows for both 6”- 6.5” industry standard screw spacings, which makes the Flex LX compatible with most TwinTip brands.
FlipTech mounting
From 2023 onwards all of the North TwinTip boards have our FlipTech Mounting System, with centreline inserts. This means if you wear out one side of your board, simply flip the bindings around and you’ve got a shiny new heelside rail again. The Flex Pro bindings are compatible with both the 2023-2024 FlipTech boards and 2020-2022 offline boards. The “2” indicator on the Flex Pro is for the boards that have flip tech, and is our recommended setup positioning for a 15/-15 degree duck stance.

Simplicity and ergonomic comfort, with one single strap for even tension. We’ve balanced simplicity and support with a single fastening strap, and we’ve optimised the footbed thickness and durometer for cushioned comfort.
Super-fast assembly with maximum adjustability
Move your bindings backwards (heelside) or forwards (toeside), set the position for a wide or narrow stance, and change your duck stance. Simply drop the entire binding onto the board and insert the screw where you want it. The intuitive Flex connection system uses standardised M6x16mm screw hardware to fasten the binding to the board in various positions with easy stance adjustment to suit all riders. Anatomical comfort with grip when wet
The anatomically-shaped footbed is engineered using a single layer of waterproof rubberized EVA foam. Lightweight, durable, and impact absorbing, with the grip pattern height increased for added comfort, its forward-angled anti-slip serration pattern helps your foot stay in place on various angles. The shock-absorbing footbed is ergonomically angled to encourage optimised weight distribution and knee alignment, provide core support and reduce pressure on your feet, knees, hips and back.
Seamless KnitFlex top strap
The soft and comfortable single-fastening strap conforms to all foot shapes, while the rigid skeletal frame within the strap ensures a supportive locked feel. Our unique seamless KnitFlex lining is pre-tensioned and laminated to the conforming foam inner, so it can create a 3D-curve without any bunching or creasing, and there’s no stitching to rub on your foot.
Extended lateral arch supports
The inner and outer arch supports ensure an even distribution of weight and stabilise the tarsal bones, allowing for a more solid stance and maximum support during hard landings. The arch supports are extended inside the strap to ensure comfort where the top strap meets the footbed, protecting your foot from the most rigid load-bearing[HP1] part of the binding. No blisters, no hard edges.
Raised toe grip
The raised toe grip allows your toes to remain loose and spread out in their natural position, while also providing an edge for riders to get purchase on. The new softer toe bar has been engineered to suit different foot shapes, allowing the rider to grip on with toes and prevent your foot from slipping out during high rotation tricks and landings.
Shaped heel cup
The shaped heel cup cradles the heel and stabilises the foot upon impact. We’ve engineered it wider on the new Flex so you can lock your foot sideways in both directions.
Injection Velcro strap
Decreases sand and debris retention. Extended top flaps increase hold and reduce water lift.
Longitudinally convexed chassis shape
The convex drives more pressure on to the tip and heel of the chassis when the binding is attached to the board, locking out sand and debris from under the binding.

Two size options
A good starting point would be Men’s US 9 (EU42.5) and above for binding size L/XL but we highly recommend trying before purchase to guarantee the best fit. We have found it’s more to do with the shape and angle of your upper foot than foot length when aiming for the most effective fit.

Positioning and adjustment settings are printed on the binding to make setup simple and intuitive. With more labels printed on the binding than ever, you’ll never have to refer to the User Manual again.

Surfboard Technology
The lightest way to make the strongest board. We’ve engineered our EcoLite Impact Resistant Bamboo Construction for durable lightweight strength and stiffness with fast feedback. By using thin layers of bamboo veneers in the laminate, you gain global stiffness of the board and impact resistance at once, while keeping the board weight really low. The Cross has a very agile and direct feel. There’s no delay when you give a steering command. It is also soft on the landings and handles the choppy conditions extremely well.
Honeycomb Mesh Recycled Cardboard Packaging
We’ve removed all plastic from our surfboard packaging, replacing it with a unique cushioning material that mimics honeycomb. Strategically cut to allow the card to stretch into many different hexagons, this flexible material creates a lightweight protective layer of ‘honeycomb’ mesh. The mesh behaves like a spring to absorb impact and protect the board from abrasion. Conventional cardboard box packaging is very rigid and offers little cushioning or support around large, curved items like our surfboards. As a solution, the space between a product and its box is often filled with polystyrene, bubble wrap and other single-use plastic materials to create a layer of protection. Many of these materials cannot be recycled and contribute to the plastic waste that ends up in our oceans and landfills.

Tri-plane hull design
Designed for earlier takeoffs and faster release. The double V-shape in the bottom contour of the board is created by a single concave in the centre with an angled planing surface on each side. The water tracks from the central concave and side rails to the two longitudinal spines, allowing the board to lift and release quickly, without sticking. Refined Bevelled Rails
Bevelled rails help with touchdown recovery, creating a wider deck with a narrower footprint. The effect is like having a smaller board. You don’t stick when you touch the water, but you still have the standing area for comfort. The Vert also features grip-friendly concaved forward rails, to make duckdiving and pop-ups easier. While riding you can grab the rail for added stability and control of your foil. GORE™ waterproof 2-way vent
The EPS core of a high volume board is affected by extreme temperature changes. To prevent air pressure build-up we’ve installed a two-way GORE™ Protective Vent on the top deck. One of our fastest stabilizers, the thinner profile High Modulus Carbon Prepreg S158v2 has a higher aspect ratio (9.1) and is recommended with small, fast front wings (HA550-750, MA500-800v2).
Sonar S178 Stabilizer
Flat, loose and even faster. We recommend pairing the S178 with Front Wing Size HA950 or smaller. The S178 has a higher aspect ratio than the S208.
Sonar S208 Stabilizer
The S208 has a higher aspect ratio than the S210, which means less drag, and the flatter rondure (front view) enables more manoeuvrability.

Impossibly thin. Impressively fast.
We’ve reduced the thickness of the submerged portion of our new Ultra High Modulus Carbon masts by over 15% compared to our standard Carbon masts, while also increasing both bending and torsional stiffness. The UHM85 covers all disciplines. Wind-powered disciplines require edging against the wind to create forward drive.
Some of this drive comes from the front wing and some comes from the mast. To efficiently provide this drive, the chord length in the submerged part of the mast is slightly longer. It increases near the top of the mast to maximise stiffness with no drag penalty, as this part of the mast is clear of the water once on foil.

What is High Modulus?
Modulus of Elasticity (E) is a measurement of the stiffness of a material and is defined as the ratio of stress to strain when the material is deformed. The higher the modulus, the stiffer the material (i.e., the greater the stress necessary to cause deformation).
High Modulus carbon fibers are created through specialized heat treatment processes which deliver much higher tensile modulus values around 4400MPa (megapascal), but at a reduced tensile strength of 377GPa (gigapascal). This fiber will produce a part that is much stiffer but will lower tensile strength.
