“Sono gli oggetti che danno senso agli spazi, e non viceversa”, lo diceva una voce geniale e poetica come quella di Ettore Sottsass, che di oggetti, se ne intendeva. Mi ritrovo a pensarlo ora, che apro le porte di una nuova casa per Tacchini, questa volta nel centro di Milano, in un quartiere storico e vivace, animato dai residenti e da chi arriva in questa città per scoprirla. Mi sento come dopo un trasloco, quando lasci quello che era giusto lasciare e porti con te le cose importanti, quello che ti racconta. Qui vedo finalmente concretizzarsi l’immaginario domestico che è sempre stato nei miei sogni, fatto di atmosfere calde e accoglienti, un luogo dove mi porto dietro quello che ho costruito, e dove ogni oggetto porta con sé la storia di un incontro, con le progettiste e i progettisti che hanno accompagnato la mia storia nel mondo dell’arredamento. Gli incontri hanno arricchito il mio percorso professionale e non solo, sono stati la mia fortuna, e in questa nuova casa li porto con me, per presentarli e condividerli in un luogo che vorrei fosse un po’ di tutti. Attraversato l’ingresso dello storico palazzo milanese, stanza dopo stanza, si potrà godere della qualità dei materiali, delle luci soffuse, della matericità dei tessuti, di un’atmosfera che vorrei facesse stare bene chi la vive. Non mi hanno mai interessato le mode, la mia idea di casa è atemporale: i mobili, le luci, gli imbottiti, le sedute, i complementi d’arredo, non si collocano in una corrente stilistica, ma rispettano il passato e raccontano il presente, attraverso scelte accorte, materiali, soluzioni progettuali a cui lavoro con passione, in un dialogo continuo con i designer. In ingresso, ad accogliervi, ci sarà la sedia Africa di Tobia Scarpa, che per me è la storia di un incontro privilegiato con cui ho il piacere di lavorare e che, come diceva Sottsass, da senso al mio universo domestico. Lascio fare gli onori di casa al design, che sono sicura saprà accogliervi nel miglior modo possibile.

“It’s the objects that give meaning to spaces, not the other way around”, said a brilliant and poetic voice like that of Ettore Sottsass, who knew a thing or two about objects.I find myself thinking of this now, as I open the doors to a new home for Tacchini, this time in the heart of Milan, in a historic and lively neighbourhood, full of residents and those who come to this city to discover it. I feel as if I’ve just moved house, when you leave behind what was right to leave and take with you the important things, the things that tell your story. Here, I finally see the domestic imagery that has always been in my dreams coming to life, filled with warm and welcoming atmospheres — a place where I bring with me what I’ve built, and where every object carries with it the story of an encounter, with the designers who have accompanied my journey in the world of furniture. These encounters have enriched my professional path, and beyond, they’ve been my good fortune, and in this new home, I carry them with me to present and share them in a place I hope will feel like it belongs to everyone. As you cross the entrance of the historic Milanese building, room by room, you’ll be able to appreciate the quality of the materials, the soft lighting, the texture of the fabrics, and an atmosphere that I hope will make those who experience it feel at ease. Fashion has never interested me; my idea of home is timeless: the furniture, the lights, the upholstery, the seating, the accessories don’t belong to a specific style movement, but respect the past and tell the present, through thoughtful choices, materials, and design solutions I work on with passion, in constant dialogue with the designers. In the entrance, welcoming you, will be the Africa chair by Tobia Scarpa, which for me represents the story of a privileged encounter with a designer I’m pleased to work with, and, as Sottsass said, it gives meaning to my domestic universe. I’ll let design take care of the housewarming, confident it will welcome you in the best way possible.

Una nuova casa

Sono gli oggetti a dare voce agli spazi: silenziosi custodi di incontri, emozioni e memorie, trasformano l'ambiente in un luogo vivo, che racconta la storia di chi lo abita.

Objects give voice to spaces: silent guardians of encounters, emotions and memories, they transform an environment into a living place that tells the story of those who inhabit it.

Alcuni luoghi non si spiegano, si percepiscono. Nascono da equilibri tra luce, materia e silenzio, dall' incontro tra forma e sensi, tra ciò che si vede e ciò che si sente.

Some places cannot be explained, only felt. They arise from balances between light, material and silence, from the meeting of form and senses, between what is seen and what is felt.

Nel silenzio degli spazi, ogni dettaglio si fa gesto, ogni elemento diventa parte di una narrazione che parla di armonia e bellezza.

In the silence of the spaces, every detail becomes a gesture, every element part of a narrative that speaks of harmony and beauty.

Living becomes a sensory experience when the space welcomes naturally, leaving room for memories and new encounters.

Résonance

La casa è il luogo dove stratifica il vissuto dell’abitare, dove ogni cosa ha un ruolo definito e riconoscibile: orientamento funzionale, ma anche bandiera della memoria e porta metafisica verso altri luoghi e tempi. La risonanza tra le mura che definiscono spazi e ambienti, e gli arredi che chiosano puntuali funzioni e forma estetica, vibra secondo una frequenza per ciascuno unica e diversa: perché nessuno ha mai vissuto allo stesso modo un medesimo luogo. Ognuno trattiene una frazione dell’essere e dell’abitare, e quel che vediamo partecipa a quel che siamo. Non solo, ogni arredo e accessorio portano un proprio racconto personale: il disegno di un progetto, il materiale di finitura, una produzione fatta di arte e mestiere, intuizioni tecniche su esperienze artigianali. Tutte queste storie si fondono sul tappeto sonoro del luogo in cui sono calate, a cui si somma il nostro riflettere: come sismografi capaci di cogliere queste sottili frequenze, e disegnare un percorso evocativo sulle pagine uniche della nostra memoria. I luoghi dell’abitare sono densi anche quando essenziali, perché non sono mai pieni di cose, ma ricchi di storie: che aspettano solo di essere raccontate. E Tacchini svela la sua storia in questo luogo scolpito dal pieno e tolto del superfluo: dove ogni arredo completa il proprio racconto in silenzio, perché già narrato in ogni sua forma. E in silenzio, noi si ascolta.

The house is where the experience of living is stratified, where everything has a defined and recognizable role: functional orientation, but also a testimony to memories, and a metaphysical door to other places and times. The resonance between the walls that define spaces and environments, and the furnishings that illustrate precise functions and aesthetic form, vibrates according to a frequency that is unique and different for each person because no one has ever experienced the same place in the same way. Everyone retains a fraction of being and living, and what we see participates in what we are. Not only that, each piece of furniture and accessory carries its own story: the design of a project, the finishing material, a production made of art and craft, and technical intuitions on artisanal experiences. All these stories blend harmoniously together where they are placed, to which our reflection is added: like seismographs capable of grasping these subtle frequencies and drawing an evocative path on the unique pages of our memory. Living spaces are dense even when essential because they are never full of things, but rich in stories: just waiting to be told. Tacchini reveals its story in this place sculpted from the solid and removed from the superfluous: each piece of furniture completes its own story in silence because it has already been narrated in all its forms. And in silence, we listen.

Ogni individuo conserva un frammento dell’essere, e ciò che ci circonda riflette la nostra essenza.
