Norman Badger
Norman Badger has built a career spanning more than three decades with Publix, the employee-owned grocery company in the United States. From his first role to his current position as Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, his journey reflects steady progress, intense dedication, and consistent leadership. He has taken on numerous roles that have shaped his experience and contributed to the organization's success. Today, he oversees store operations across the company’s footprint, guiding teams and ensuring standards of service and performance remain strong. Publix operates more than 1,400 stores across eight southeastern states, with the most significant concentration in Florida, as well as additional stores in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. He began his career in 1995 as a front-service clerk in Aiken, South Carolina, where he learned the foundation of customer service and store operations. After working in several hourly positions, he became a store manager in 2007, where he was responsible for budgets, staffing, inventory, and customer satisfaction. In 2014, he was promoted to District Manager, overseeing several stores and collaborating closely with managers to ensure consistency in financial, operational, and service performance. By 2017, he became Regional Director, with responsibility for multiple districts. His focus included strategy, market development, and leadership growth, ensuring alignment across regions. In 2020, Norman Badger, Publix, advanced to Vice President of Product Business Development for the Bakery and Meat departments. He was responsible for expanding product categories, strengthening supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and enhancing supply chain and merchandising operations. His role also included ensuring that product strategies aligned with customer expectations and business goals. In 2024, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Retail Operations.
