BIBLELESSONS More Than a Story
From learning to dig into God’s Word to understanding and defending what they believe, Bible class is where students grab onto Christianity and make it their own. For high schoolers in the “Holy Lands” class, it culminated in a powerful trip to Israel where they walked in the footsteps of our Savior.
Mr. Gyorfi and Mr. Colonna bring Norfolk Christian students on a journey through the lands of the Bible.

year, NCS junior Michael Richardson Colossians 1:3 became very ill unexpectedly and was admitted to the hospital, where he has spent the rest of the year recovering. As we prayed through scary times and praised God for the many victories, we have not been able to forget the fact that we desperately miss his grin, goofy humor and constant ability to make anyone smile, no matter what kind of day they’re having. Michael’s absence has been on everyone’s mind, especially in the junior class. While he entertains friends with his normal craziness during visits, nothing can replace having him here again in our hallways. Our whole community has come together in prayer for Michael’s complete healing and cannot wait to have him back at school!
It starts our classes, our trips, our games, our rehearsals; it’s found on the field, on the bus, in our offices and in pockets of the building at every moment of the day. Prayer forms the foundation of all we do. By thanking our Heavenly Father for who He is and trusting Him with our requests – both huge and tiny – we build an unbreakable bond with a God who is personal and cares deeply for us. We build a lifestyle of dependence on the One friend who can never fail us.

At the beginning of their senior year, the class embarked on the annual week-long bonding aventure at Camp Albemarle In North Carolina. Connecting over kayak escapades, lighthouse ascensions, starry nights on the pier, and smoky bonfire confessions, the class enjoyed unforgettable memories on the Bogue Sound.

NATIONALHONORSOCIETY N ational Honor Society is open to all NCH students who have a 3.5 average or higher. Each student applies for membership, which includes teacher recommendations, an essay, and a list of activities. When the application
requirements are fulfilled, a five member committee evaluates each application and makes a decision. Acceptances culminate in an Induction Ceremony where each student is awarded an NHS certificate and an NHS pin.
FUTUREBUSINESSLEADERS F uture Business Leaders of America is a nationwide program that helps students develop leadership abilities and prepares them for business-related occupations. Members compete at regional, state and national levels in business and technology curriculum.
The NCS chapter of FBLA has 47 members who won over 30 regional awards this year, many placing first place. Senior Alexander Brinkley was nominated as a scholarship finalist. Norfolk Christian won the second place award for the Tidewater Region’s most outstanding chapter.
