Eric Boerwinkle, Ph.D. | In addition to being Dean of the UTHealth School of Public Health, Dr. Eric Boerwinkle is the Associate Director of the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Author of more than 1,200 scientific publications, Dr. Boerwinkle has led groundbreaking research on the connection between genome variation and the transition from health to disease. Beyond his own research Dr. Boerwinkle has spent significant time on several national research panels for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as well as served on the Council of Councils for the Office of the Director of NIH. Marc L. Boom, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.H.E. | Dr. Marc Boom is President and CEO of Houston Methodist. Its flagship, Houston Methodist Hospital, has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 hospital in Texas for 10 years in a row. Dr. Boom is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and maintains a part-time clinical practice. In 2020, Dr. Boom emerged as a national leader in the efforts to educate the public about COVID-19 and the need for vaccines, leading the way as the first hospital system CEO in the country to mandate vaccines for employees and physicians. Paul Klotman, M.D. | Dr. Paul Klotman began serving as President, CEO and Executive Dean of Baylor College of Medicine in 2010. At Baylor College of Medicine, he oversees the only private health sciences university in the Greater Southwest United States, with total research funding of more than $650 million. The medical school is ranked among the top 25 institutions for research and the top 20 for primary care by U.S. News & World Report. He serves on the Board of Directors of St. Luke’s Health System and the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, the College’s jointly owned and governed private adult hospital.
