Silverton Casino Lodge redefines what it means to stay and play in Las Vegas
By Heather Turk
Offering guests an experience that feels welcoming, comfortable and refreshingly different, Silverton Casino Lodge is one of Las Vegas’ most unique resorts.
Located just minutes from the Strip off I-15, Silverton Casino Lodge is a local favorite that’s also become a tourist favorite over the years thanks to its elevated take on Western hospitality. Known for its rustic lodge style and modern comforts, the boutique hotel features 300 recently renovated “luxe-lodge” guest rooms and suites that include three distinct design stories, each with its own curated style, décor and spirit. Guests can stay in a Cowboy Kitsch room with vibrant accents and nostalgic touches that feature

a playful blend of rustic charm and modern flair; a Rustic Modern room that evokes the warmth of the outdoors through aged finishes, natural textures and cozy, organic tones; or a Refined Lodge room that draws inspiration from luxurious Western estates by combining elegant materials with bold, sophisticated designs. Each spacious room was designed for comfort, quiet and a true getaway feel, offering guests a stay that feels like an escape, not just a place to sleep.
On May 1, the property’s $10 million outdoor oasis, The Swimmin’ Hole, will reopen for its third season. The lush resortstyle pool offers guests a retreat that balances relaxation and fun, complete with palm trees, fire pits, a 36-foot retractable screen to watch sports and movies on and a spacious hot tub. Eleven stylish cabanas are available to rent as well, and there’s a bar and grill on site serving tasty poolside fare and cold beverages. While access to The Swimmin’ Hole is complimentary for hotel guests, the public is welcome to enjoy it for a nominal admission fee.
Long before The Swimmin’ Hole was making waves at the property, Silverton Casino Lodge was known for its 117,000-gallon aquarium located near Bass Pro Shops. Home to multiple species of sharks and stingrays as well as thousands of tropical fish — including tangs, pufferfish and angelfish — the Silverton aquarium is one of Las Vegas’ most beloved

free attractions. Not only can guests watch the stingrays get fed daily at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m., but they can also see the resort’s famous mermaids swim inside of the aquarium at select times Thursday through Sunday.
For those who want to put on a fin and swim in the aquarium themselves, Mermaid School is offered for aspiring mermaids ages 7 and older. Each 90-minute class includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium as well as all of the equipment needed for students to live out their aquatic dream. Participants only need to a bring a swimsuit and towel with them. Space is limited, and reservations must be paid at least 24 hours in advance. Mermaid School is held for children ages 7 to 15 on select Saturdays at 8:30 a.m., while classes for students ages 16 and older are held on select Sundays at 8:30 a.m.
Additionally, adults ages 21 and older can get a front-row view of the aquarium at the adjacent Mermaid Lounge, which has Continued on next page

its own 500-gallon jellyfish aquarium lit with LED lights. Guests can savor a variety of snacks and beverages, including the lounge’s signature smashed burgers and loaded fries, while listening to live music every Friday and Saturday night. Those staying on property can also enjoy Wine Time at the lounge — a complimentary self-guided wine tasting experience available exclusively to hotel guests.
Mermaid Lounge is just one of several venues on property guests can enjoy food and beverages at, with each restaurant and bar offering its own distinct experience. Other dining highlights include Mi Casa Grill Cantina, known for its bold Mexican flavors, extensive tequila selection and lively social vibe, and the upscale Twin Creeks Steakhouse, which serves succulent cuts of Certified Angus Beef in a classic lodge atmosphere. Last fall, Twin Creeks Steakhouse began offering an elevated Sunday brunch experience from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., with select entrées that include bottomless mimosas or mocktails. priced together at $40. Standout brunch specialties include the Country Fried Steak made with breaded prime rib and the Crab Cake Benedict.
Silverton Casino Lodge boasts a renovated, 90,000-square-foot casino floor, too, featuring new carpeting and upgrades to its video poker and slot machines. Guests can play their favorite games in an easygoing atmosphere, with friendly dealers and plenty of room to actually enjoy the action.
With so much to experience under one roof, not to mention free parking, Silverton Casino Lodge offers guests a Strip-worthy experience without the stress. silvertoncasino.com

Whether it is a grand opening, a new location or a reimagined menu, the restaurant scene in Las Vegas is sure to have something new for foodies to savor.
A favorite at SLS/SAHARA Las Vegas for 11 years, Bazaar Meat by José Andrés relocated to The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas last September. Serving up one of the Strip’s most unforgettable dining experiences, the luxurious steakhouse offers an enticing selection of grilled meats and other delectable dishes for dinner, including an extremely flavorful Gazpacho made from a family recipe given by Andrés’ wife, Patricia, and a little A5 “Philly Cheesesteak” made with Wagyu beef that practically melts in your mouth. Guests can enjoy items à la carte or as part of a multicourse tasting menu. Either way, taste buds are in for a real treat. thebazaar.com
America’s only Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse, COTE recently opened its first West Coast location inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Blending the sizzling energy of Korean barbecue with the elegance of a classic American chophouse, the restaurant is known for its succulent cuts of American and Australian Wagyu, USDA Prime and A5 beef cooked on a smokeless grill at each table. For a true taste of what COTE has to offer, diners can indulge in the Butcher’s Feast: an extravagant yet reasonably priced prix fixe dinner menu that includes four cuts of beef as well as a seemingly never-ending parade of flavorful

Celebrated local chef James Trees (Esther’s Kitchen) elevates the traditional steakhouse experience with his latest venture, High Steaks Vegas, located atop the Rio Las Vegas’ Masquerade Tower. Diners can take in 180-degree views of the city through floor-toceiling windows while relishing an extensive selection of entrées for dinner, including game meats like the tender Bison Filet and a juicy Smoked Prime Rib served with a veal stock au jus. While guests wait for their dishes to be cooked to perfection, they can step outside to get an even better view of the Strip from the restaurant’s 50th-floor balcony. highsteaks.vegas

Whether you are a fan of basketball, hockey or some other sport, there are plenty of restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip whose flavorful fare and game-day atmospheres know how to score points with sports fans.
One of the Strip’s newest go-to spots to catch a game, Bottled Blonde has more than 40 HD TVs located throughout the venue — including multiple screens above its 360-degree bars — as well as a 38-foot-long LED wall. Part of the Grand Bazaar Shops in front of Horseshoe Las Vegas, the highenergy venue will play select March Madness games with live audio on its first floor. Fans can also watch games on its rooftop balcony, with a DJ performing on select days. While fans cheer on their favorite team, taste buds will be cheering over such delicious dishes as the Wagyu Truffle Burger and the Cornbread & Fried Chicken drizzled in Mike’s Hot Honey. A brunch menu is also available on Saturday and Sunday. bottledblondelv.com
Sports fans can enjoy craft beers, skyline views and elevated game-day cuisine at BrewDog Las Vegas, which has its own onsite microbrewery. New acrobatic performances make ‘Awakening’ even more of a visual feast
By Heather Turk

Already known for its mind-bending illusions, dramatic choreography, dazzling costumes, cutting-edge technology and larger-than-life puppetry, “Awakening” at Wynn Las Vegas is now more impressive than ever thanks to the recent addition of three jaw-dropping acrobatic performances.
Last September, the $120 million production seamlessly integrated three awe-inspiring feats of strength, grace and balance into its immersive, in-the-round experience. As audiences follow the show’s reluctant heroine, IO, through the realms of water, earth and air to reunite Light and Darkness and restore balance to her world, they will be treated to a beautiful Shoulder Ballet that features a ballerina en pointe atop her partner’s head. Guests will also get to see a heartpounding Russian Bar sequence that at one point features two acrobats flipping in unison while one acrobat sits on the other acrobat’s shoulders, as well as international slackwire artist and Monte Carlo Circus Gold Medalist Tang Zhe perform on a tensionless wire suspended above “Awakening’s” 60-foot prismatic stage. Sure to leave ticket holders breathless, each acrobatic performance is a worthy addition to one of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s most visually stunning shows.
Narrated by two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (“The Silence of the Lambs,” “The Father”) and brought to life by a talented cast of 60 international artists, “Awakening”
“Awakening’s” new Shoulder Ballet is one of the most breathtaking acrobatic performances on the Strip

delivers a multisensory experience inside one of the world’s most advanced 360-degree theaters. With no seat more than 75 feet from center stage and personal speakers built into every seat, there’s not a bad seat in the house to watch the 80-minute production. Tickets start at $109, inclusive of taxes and fees, with show times every Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 and 9 p.m. and Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m. (dark April 17–21). Whether you grew up watching his 1970s variety show “Donny & Marie” or you simply know him as the singing voice of Li Shang in Disney’s “Mulan,” Donny Osmond should be at the top of everyone’s must-see list when visiting the Entertainment Capital of the World.
Performing Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. inside Harrah’s Las Vegas (dark March 10–14, March 31–April 4 and April 28–May 2), Osmond puts on one the Strip’s best concert residencies. Featuring his greatest hits — including a full Broadwayworthy performance of “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from “Mulan”— the production takes fans of all ages on a dynamic musical journey of Osmond’s life as one of the world’s most recognized entertainers. No two performances are ever the same, thanks in part to an interactive audience segment

where anyone can request any song Osmond has ever recorded. The show also features the fan-favorite “Auto-rap-ography” where Osmond performs a rap song about his life accompanied by milestone photos and videos from his impressive six-decade career.
Last year, Osmond updated his show with a new segment that has to be seen to be believed. Using state-of-the-art technology, original multi-track audio recordings from more than 50 years ago and original footage from the 1970s, Osmond performs a duet of his 1972 song “Puppy Love” with a 3D AI version of his 14-year-old self — live onstage. It’s truly a magical and memorable concertgoing experience for fans.
For those who want an even more memorable show-going experience, a pre-show VIP experience is available that includes a meet and greet with Osmond and a special musical “moment.” Osmond will also participate in a Q&A and share personal stories with guests. Space is limited, so be sure to book your VIP experience as soon as possible before tickets sell out. caesars.com/ harrahs-las-vegas/shows/donny-osmond

Las Vegas continues to be a mecca for concertgoers this spring thanks to several exciting music residencies taking place around town.
One of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s newest must-see concert residencies returns to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in March. Performing Friday and Saturday, March 6 through 28, “Jennifer Lopez: Up All Night Live in Las Vegas” is a perfect fit for one of Las Vegas’ most iconic venues. The fun and flirty four-act production takes audiences from the Bronx to Broadway as the pop/R&B superstar performs her greatest hits like never before in addition to some Broadway classics. Fans will get to see Lopez perform more than two dozen numbers, including “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from “Funny Girl” and Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel,” while backed by a 17-piece band that includes an all-female string section.
Once Lopez dances off The Colosseum stage, Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning songwriter and performing artist Cyndi Lauper will stage her first-ever Las Vegas residency at the venue. “Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas” will give fans who missed the “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” icon’s farewell tour a chance to see her one more time, with performances scheduled Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, April 24 through May 2. Then, raspy-voiced rocker Rod Stewart returns to The Colosseum for his 15th year to resume his second residency at the venue, “The Encore Shows.” Featuring the “Maggie May”

singer’s greatest hits as well as a few deep cuts and surprises, the production continues May 27, 29 and 30. caesars.com/shows
Rock fans in Las Vegas will want to check out Dolby Live at Park MGM this spring as well when the Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar, resumes one of the strongest rock residencies in the city’s history: “The Best of All Worlds.” Running Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, March 11 through 21, the show reunites Hagar with the powerhouse Best of All Worlds Band, featuring original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, 15time Grammy nominee and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, powerhouse drummer Kenny Aronoff and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte. With fresh setlists each night, the high-octane, onlyin-Vegas production is a celebration of Hagar’s legendary catalog, showcasing Van Halen deep cuts and solo favorites like “I Can’t Drive 55.” parkmgm.mgmresorts.com/en/entertainment/dolbylive.html

After last year’s WrestleMania became the most successful event in World Wrestling Entertainment history, WWE decided to hold WrestleMania in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year. Returning to Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19, WrestleMania 42 promises to be even bigger and better than WrestleMania 41.
“The location may be the same, but the show will never be the same,” said WWE Superstar Chelsea Green. “Last year was incredible. We had a record-breaking amount of fans, but now that we’ve done it and we can run it back again, I think we know how to enhance the experience even more.”
Although Green was sadly left off of last year’s WrestleMania card, WrestleMania 42 will give her another opportunity to compete on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
As one-half of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions at press time with WWE NXT Superstar Ethan Page, Green said she’d love to bring some mixed tag team action to WrestleMania 42. She’s also always dreamt of having a Canadian Triple Threat Match with fellow Canadian wrestlers Natalya Neidhart and Trish Stratus, maybe with “a funny Canadian stipulation.”

Blue Man Group has perfected the art of keeping audiences entertained
By Heather Turk

Celebrating 26 years on the Strip in March 2026, Blue Man Group remains one of the Entertainment Capital of the World’s most beloved acts for good reason: the bald and blue trio’s Las Vegas show is always evolving to give repeat ticket holders something new to enjoy.
Over the past few years, several changes were made to the rockin’ production in advance of its 25th anniversary in 2025, including upgrading its video surfaces by installing stunning new 4K LED panels on almost every wall onstage. New video content was also designed for the panels featuring a new color palette and tone, reinvigorating such signature Blue Man Group PVC pipe musical numbers as “Rods and Cones” and “Drumbone.” Offering audiences a near 180-degree onstage visual experience, the changes immerse guests in the show like never before.
To get even more ticket holders involved with the production, Blue Man Group also introduced a fun new interactive bit. Entitled “Match,” the act invites two audience members chosen at random to come up onstage with the Blue Men as they try to “cook up” a love connection between the strangers. It’s a recipe destined for success — and plenty of laughs!
Blue Man Group performs most nights at 8 p.m. inside Luxor Hotel and Casino, with additional performances on select dates at 2 and/or 5 p.m. For the ultimate Blue Man Group experience, the new VIP Experience was introduced this past January that includes a private, post-show meet and greet

with a Blue Man. Guests will be escorted backstage to get the Blue Man’s “autograph”

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in April, The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower continues to be one of Las Vegas’ top resorts.

Home to the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States, the 1,149-foot-tall STRAT Tower, The STRAT is famous for its jaw-dropping views of Las Vegas. Visitors can take in the sights from the STRAT Tower’s observation decks or while dining at Top of the World. Located 800 feet above the city, the restaurant’s dining room revolves 360 degrees every 80 minutes. Diners can feast upon dazzling city views through floor-to-ceiling windows while savoring a seasonal menu of succulent steaks, fresh seafood and delightful desserts like the Warm Butter Cake for Two.
Guests can also take in the sights on Big Shot, a thrill ride that shoots riders 160 feet up the STRAT Tower’s mast to a height of 1,081 feet, or SkyJump. The world’s highest commercial decelerator descent facility, SkyJump dares thrill seekers to leap off a platform located 855 feet above the Strip to a landing pad 829 feet below, reaching speeds topping 40 miles per hour.
The STRAT is constantly elevating the guest experience in other ways, too, like with its newly remodeled Elevate rooms and Elevated suites. Featuring a modern,

sky-inspired design, the refreshed rooms offer some of the city’s most beautiful accommodations — especially the Elevated Boulevard suite, which includes a striking living room area and wet bar to entertain guests. The property also recently renovated its eighth-floor rooftop pool, Swim & Social, which opens for the season in April, and just opened a frozen cocktail bar, Tower Freeze, that serves a variety of drinks in tasty flavors like Creamsicle and Mudslide.
Boasting several entertainment options as well, including the L.A. Comedy Club, The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower only gets better with age. thestrat.com

Regardless of what type of cuisine you are craving, the restaurant scene in Downtown Las Vegas is sure to have something to suit everyone’s palate.
Last December, beloved local chef James Trees (Esther’s Kitchen, Bar Boheme) moved his wine-centric restaurant Ada’s from Summerlin to the Las Vegas Arts District. Known for its shareable dishes inspired by flavors from around the globe, the sophisticated eatery features an everchanging menu by the James Beard Award finalist and chef de cuisine Jackson Stamper (New York City’s Employees Only). Guests can pair each dish, like the seasonal Tagliatelle or the tender O’Connor Skirt Steak, with a selection from the acclaimed wine list, which categorizes selections by character rather than grape or region. adaslv.com
Serving some of Las Vegas’ best barbecue, Circa Resort & Casino’s permanent food truck on Fremont Street Experience, Project BBQ, recently rolled out an all-new menu to complement its redesign. Guests can dine underneath a retractable canopy while savoring such delightful items as the Chicken Empanadas with Mexican street corn, the Smoked BBQ Ribs or the Brisket Grilled Cheese Sandwich made with brisket so tender that it will melt in your mouth. Warm Monkey Bread and a trio of Grilled Lemonades further add to the flavorful experience. circalasvegas.com

It doesn’t have to be Taco Tuesday to dine at Taco Escobar. When the card players disperse, the slot chairs go vacant and the guest rooms empty, the shuttered casinos of yesteryear don’t tend to fade away quietly in Las Vegas. They go out with a bang.
The Entertainment Capital of the world gives a special send off to defunct casinos, demolishing them in a blaze of glory. Only their neon signs manage to escape the destruction, and thanks to one institution, they’ve been preserved and even repurposed throughout the city.
The Neon Museum in Downtown Las Vegas has been responsible for the rescue and even rehabilitation of countless signs that make up the bulk of its fabulous collection. Housed in two separate gallery spaces, the museum’s collection tells the story of Las Vegas
through the twinkling lights of marquees that would have been lost to time if not for their intervention.
On the Las Vegas History tour, docents lead groups through the city’s storied past, from its origins as an indigenous meeting point, to its time as a ranch and railroad stop. The anthropological account chronicles the rise and fall of mob influence, the city’s history of segregation and its eventual prominence as one of the world’s greatest entertainment hubs.
At the heart of the tour and the museum is the Neon Boneyard, an expertly curated collection of often towering signs. The boneyard houses over 200 signs from the 1930s to present day, some of which have been restored to working condition.

The first sign the Neon Museum ever restored, The Hacienda Horse & Rider, is one of the 15 functioning signs on display throughout the city.
Within the collection are iconic displays that detail historical turning points in Las Vegas, like the famed Moulin Rouge, the city’s first racially integrated casino, or the Palms glittering marquee, known for being the first property in Las Vegas to be entirely owned and operated by a Native American tribe.
Adjacent to the Neon Boneyard, the North Gallery houses the popular nightly light display “Brilliant! Jackpot!” Utilizing advanced audio and visual technology, the show reanimates 40 of The Neon Museum’s iconic vintage signs that are too damaged to be restored, creating a stunning and immersive light show choreographed to music played from high-end speakers hidden throughout the gallery.
The Museum doesn’t just bring history to life within its walls. The Neon Museum has given back to the city, displaying refurbished signs throughout Las Vegas Boulevard. Storied signs from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s create a neon streetscape beginning with Downtown’s Gateway Arches leading all the way up to The Neon Museum and Washington Avenue.
The first sign the Neon Museum ever restored, The Hacienda Horse & Rider, is one of the 15 functioning signs on display throughout the city, luring history buffs, aspiring photographers and curious travelers towards the museum’s Visitor Center.

Housed inside the lobby of the former La Concha Motel, The Visitor Center exemplifies the museum’s commitment to preservation, showcasing other elements of the museum’s impressive collection, which includes renderings, costumes, art and archives, inside a stunning example of Googie Mid Century architecture. The space-age styled building was saved from demolition and now acts as a beacon to those who seek to learn more about how this little oasis in the desert came to be. neonmuseum. org

El Cortez opened in 1941 as one of the first hotel casinos in Las Vegas. Today we are the only hotel casino on the National Register of Historic Places. We honor that rich history by providing the same great value Bugsy Siegel and Meyer Lansky offered when they owned El Cortez in the 1940s.
The “good old days” of Las Vegas are alive and well at El Cortez. Come say hello and take advantage of this special offer from my family to yours.

With so many shows and touring acts playing on the many huge stages of the Las Vegas Strip casinos, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the culture of Las Vegas begins and ends in the neon laden palaces that line the boulevard. However, a thriving local scene exists not too far from the main drag, luring bands, DJs and more to play at more intimate stages throughout Downtown Las Vegas.
Known for bringing new and emerging independent rock acts as well as hidden gems and lesser known legends to the typically mainstream-heavy city, Swan Dive has quickly made a name for itself in the local music scene. Past acts have included Tennis, legendary rock band Os Mutantes and indie ne’er-do-well Ariel Pink, to name a few of the eclectic offerings that weren’t always available in the city before this venue opened its doors.
Swan Dive also hosts themed dance nights, celebrating artists like Daft Punk, emo favorites like My Chemical Romance and the indie sleaze dance party Time to Pretend. swandivelv.com
One of the newest bars in town is also one of the most exciting new venues to catch a show. The Dustland Bar has two stages, one indoor and one out, that feature exciting and eclectic acts throughout the year.
Already, they have hosted huge themed parties, like last year’s horror themed Halloween bash, The Last Night at Camp, which featured live bands, DJs and costumed counselors. Vinyl sets are a weekly occurrence,

and finding a new favorite band to fawn over is just as likely. thedustlandbar.com
You’re as likely to see a rollocking punk show as you are to catch a tantalizing burlesque performance at Las Vegas mainstay The Usual Place. Hosting DJ sets and music acts as varied as motown, metal, rap, funk and more, this venue caters to a variety of tastes throughout each week. Food pop ups and art markets utilize the large space throughout the year to create events that feature local talent both on and off the stage. theusualplace.vegas

This year, spring training returns to Phoenix, Arizona, with 15 teams preparing for their upcoming Major League Baseball season. Players take the field daily now through March 24, giving fans a chance to cheer on their favorites and discover rising stars.
In Phoenix, teams play in the Cactus League while the remaining 15 of the MLB’s 30 teams play in Florida’s Grapefruit League. Among the most popular Cactus League teams are the Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks and the 2025 World Series winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The League’s other teams are the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, San Deigo Padres, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers.
Of these, only five teams play in their own stadiums: the Cubs, Brewers, Athletics, Giants and Angels. The rest share a stadium with another team. For example, the Diamondbacks and Rockies both use Salt River Fields at Talking Stick as their spring training home field.
To learn more about the teams, their schedule and their home stadium, visit the Cactus League website, where you can also purchase game tickets. cactusleague.com

Last year, nearly 1.7 million fans attended Cactus League games — and with good reason. First, on average, single game Cactus League tickets cost substantially less than their regular season counterparts. For example, the most you’ll pay for a ticket to a spring training Dodgers’ game is $96 compared to the team’s average ticket price of $181 during the regular season.

Second, on average, Cactus League stadiums have about a quarter of the capacity of MLB (10,000 versus 40,000 seats) and fewer attendees (roughly 7,900 versus 29,000), putting fans closer to the action. Additionally, spring training stadiums sell tickets to sit on the lawn beyond the outfield; MLB stadiums do not.
Third, because the stadiums accommodate fewer people, spring training gives fans more opportunities to ask their favorite players for autographs and photographs. Usually, players available to fans will hang out near foul ball territory on either side of the field before and after the play ends.
The more popular a team, the earlier tickets for its games sell out. To make sure you get tickets to the game you want to attend, purchase tickets well in advance. Before you go, also read the stadium’s FAQs to learn where to park and what you can and can’t bring.
In general, stadiums don’t allow fans to bring coolers, pets, lawn chairs, air horns, alcohol, drugs or weapons to a spring

training game. Most also have restrictions on bag size — although medical and diaper bags are an exception — and some also require bags to be clear.
Since the pandemic in 2020, most stadiums switched to touchless transactions for all purchases, from souvenirs to parking. Bring a debit or credit card to pay for these extras along with sunglasses, sunscreen and Sharpies for autographs.
Baseball and beer go together. In Phoenix, fans need only drive a short distance for premium brew. In the East Valley, fans attending games at Sloan Park and Hohokam Stadium can sip brews at downtown Mesa breweries like 12 West Brewing and Oro Brewing Company. Tempe Diablo Stadium attendees can head to Four Peaks Brewing Company, Pedal Haus Brewery or Catalyst Crafted Ales.
In the West Valley, Saddle Mountain Brewing Company near Goodyear Ballpark earns high marks for its Clan-Destine Scottish Ale and won a silver medal for its Now What? Blonde Ale at the 2025 World Beer Cup.
Although none of the stadiums are close to downtown Phoenix, its central Valley location makes it a hub for spring training celebrations. Good options include Huss Brewing, Greenwood Brewing, Arizona Wilderness, Wren House Brewing Company and Roses by the Stairs Brewing.

There’s so much to do in Phoenix it can be overwhelming. However, for visitors touching down at Sky Harbor International Airport for the first time, there are a few attractions that are a must.
Founded by Native American art collectors Dwight and Maie Heard in 1929, the Heard Museum ranks among the best indigenous art museums in the world. Its 12 galleries feature more than 44,000 items on a rotating basis, including baskets, pottery, jewelry, textiles, paintings and photographs. Don’t miss the 1,200 katsina dolls donated by the late Senator Barry M. Goldwater and Fred Harvey Company and the East Gallery Boarding School Exhibit.
Before visiting, guests can download the museum’s free app to learn more about the exhibits as they tour. The museum also offers free guided tours and hands-on activities for kids in the galleries.
Special events such as the World Championship Hoop Dance Contest and the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market draw people from around the world. For guests who want to buy a Native American souvenir, the museum’s gift shop is one of the best for authentic works. heard.org

This Smithsonian-affiliated museum showcases more than 7,000 instruments from 200 countries and territories, all arranged geographically. As visitors enter the Musical Instrument Museum, they receive a wireless headset that allows them to hear the instruments played. Guests can learn even more about the instruments displayed from videos showing concert footage and interviews with musicians and craftsmen.
Downstairs, the Artist Gallery features instruments, costumes and accessories used by celebrities from Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash to the Black Eyed Peas and Mariah Carey. Visitors can also watch specialists restore and preserve items in the Conservation Lab and try their hand at playing a West African djembe, Native American communal drum, Peruvian Harp and others.
Throughout the year, the Musical Instrument Museum hosts special events and exhibits as well as approximately 200 concerts. Visitors who plan in advance may be able to take advantage of workshops and the museum’s MIMkids Mini Music Makers program for kids four and under. mim.org
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the winter home of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright offers two tours: the 60-minute Audio Tour and 90-minute Guided Tour. The Audio Tour is delivered to the visitor’s smartphone (bring headphones) and takes visitors to the architect’s home, drafting studio, architecture school and other significant areas on the campus.

However, guests who want a more interactive experience can book the Guided Tour, which visits all the property’s highlights plus additional private living spaces. It also provides more information about Wright’s architecture and allows time to ask questions. Both tours require advance registration to ensure availability and include indoor and outdoor stops.
In addition to the tours, Taliesin West has a full calendar of programs, including movie nights, lectures, yoga and family workshops. Its popular Sunsets and Sips happy hour encourages visitors to walk the property’s outdoor paths, drink in hand, twice a month. franklloydwright.org

The Historic Franklin Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota, is no stranger to hosting VIP guests, having welcomed such legendary figures as John Wayne, Theodore Roosevelt, Kevin Costner and Babe Ruth since opening in 1903. However, thanks to a recent propertywide renovation, now everyone who stays at the hotel will feel like a VIP.
After being lifted and leveled in 2023 due to the building settling approximately 4 inches over the past century, The Historic Franklin Hotel completed its first-ever large-scale renovation last August. A project two years in the making, the nearly $10 million renovation not only included all 73 guest rooms, 10 standard suites and four luxury suites in the hotel, but also the building’s public spaces and windows. The transformation was led by Chamberlin Architects, a firm renowned for its expertise in restoring and renovating historic buildings while honoring their architectural integrity.
Probably the most striking differences can be found in the guest rooms, which feature updated layouts that include new furnishings, improved lighting, new flooring, refreshed wall treatments and enhanced tech accessibility like key cards. Upgraded bathroom fixtures were installed as well, including replacing old bathtubs with glassenclosed showers. Each room now has central air conditioning instead of individual window air conditioning units, and there are custom candle-style sconces in the hotel corridors — a nod to the property’s candlelit ambiance in the early 1900s.

Savor a selection of perfectly aged, hand-cut steaks at Legends Steakhouse
While visitors are sure to love The Historic Franklin Hotel’s sophisticated new look, like its historically accurate wood windows, the property still features several amenities guests have enjoyed for years. The expansive casino floor remains, as does the popular Legends Steakhouse and the seasonal veranda that overlooks Deadwood’s outdoor pavilion, Outlaw Square. The result is a remarkable renovation that offers visitors an experience that feels refreshingly new while still rooted in history. silveradofranklin.com

Allegiant’s business model is built around the idea that travel should be accessible to everyone. This philosophy is at the heart of our partnership with Dogs Inc, a Floridabased organization that breeds, raises, trains and places dogs to assist children and adults with disabilities in their day-to-day lives.
The foundation of our relationship with Dogs Inc is built upon a shared belief in inspiring freedom and the confidence to travel without breaking the bank. Dogs Inc provides their clients with loyal companions, expert training, and lifetime support completely free of charge.
In order to best guarantee a successful partnership between pooch and person, it is of utmost importance that service animals in training (aka adorable puppies) receive the highest quality training possible — sometimes in unfamiliar environments, such as the airport.
Just as an airport can present unique challenges for travelers, it is a new and hard-to-replicate environment for the service animals. This is why we work diligently with our operations team to identify opportunities for handlers to bring the dogs to the airport for a trial run.
We teamed up with Dogs Inc and St. PeteClearwater International Airport to host a

special event helping guide-dogs-in-training practice real-world skills.
From navigating TSA checkpoints to boarding an aircraft and even staying focused at a busy baggage carousel, these future service dogs gained the confidence they need to support their partners every step of the way.
The pups in training start learning at just two days old, enrolled in programs the organization calls Puppy Preschool and Canine University. After graduation, the dogs, equipped with over 40 cues and skills, are ready to be matched with their person.
Our partnership with Dogs Inc makes a lasting impact in the lives of so many people who now feel comfortable travelling by air.

Work is better when it’s fun, and at Allegiant, fun isn’t just encouraged, it’s organized. That’s why the “Fun Squad” exists. The Fun Squad is made up of Allegiant team members across the network who raise their hands and say, “Hey, I have an idea!” They create events built for connection, recognition, and shared experiences and they embody one of our most important core values: spreading the sunshine.
Buckle up as we take a tour across our network to see how our Fun Squad members have been bringing Allegiant team members together.
When Halloween rolled around, Uni-Trade Stadium was the perfect place to celebrate the spooky season — especially since it’s minutes away from Laredo International Airport. The Fun Squad kicked things off at a haunted house where they experienced dark rooms, zombie rampages and lots of screaming! Then team members boarded a bus, grabbed paintball guns, and were dropped straight into zombie territory. Later in the year, the Laredo Fun Squad brought everyone together for a Bowling Night with food, drinks, raffles and a Secret Santa exchange to close out the holidays.
SportsFest is one of the most anticipated events of the year for our St. PeteClearwater team, and it continues to grow every year. Hosted on an iconic white sand beach, this event turns the shoreline into a full-day team-building experience. Local teams compete in volleyball, dodgeball, tugof-war, paddleboard relays and cornhole. No athletic skill is required, just lots of team spirit and a willingness to jump in. Outside of SportsFest, the Fun Squad here keeps things exciting with outings to Clearwater Threshers baseball games and roller-skating nights that bring the team together.

NOW LANDING IN PUNTA
FL (PGD)
3, 2, 1… Happy New Year! Punta Gorda kicked off 2026 together with a Noon Year’s Eve countdown complete with sparkling apple cider. They also got creative with a goalsetting activity where team members wrote down their goals on seed paper, planted them in small pots, and took them home to watch them grow throughout the year.
Near the airport at Sunset Park, the Las Vegas Fun Squad hosted a pickleball event. Some players were brand new to the game, while others came ready to compete. One experienced player even loaned his paddle to a brand new teammate and shared some tips about the game. Over the holidays, the Fun Squad also personally delivered chocolates to pilots, flight attendants, gate agents and Maintenance team members, making sure everyone felt celebrated and recognized.
The Fun Squad exists to bring Allegiant team members together. We can’t wait to share what new connections and activities are on the horizon in 2026!

Allegiant introduces a new onboard luxury for travelers — Altus Sol wine
By Heather Turk
Allegiant travelers already know that they can count on the airline for low-cost, nonstop flights, but now the company is offering passengers something new to enjoy en route to their favorite destination: its own wine.
Driven by a commitment to innovation and enhancing the onboard experience, Allegiant has reimagined the wine experience from the ground up with its custom wine, Altus Sol. With an industry-wide decline of the once standard 187-ml wine bottle and many vendors shifting toward formats that don’t resonate with Allegiant’s passengers, like cans and Tetra cartons, Allegiant knew it needed a more sustainable and versatile solution. That led the airline to Sonoma Bespoke, a leading wine company in Napa that specializes in custom wine solutions, to collaborate on their own brand of wine to sell onboard.
“Allegiant focuses on leisure destinations, and our wines can kick off any vacation,” said Max Franks, CEO of Sonoma Bespoke.
Meaning “high sun” in Latin, the name Altus Sol was chosen as a nod to the sunburst on an Allegiant airplane tail and the experience of looking out an airplane window and seeing the sun high above the clouds. Passengers can currently choose from two varietals: a Cabernet Sauvignon with extra notes of cigar-box aromas or a crisp Pinot Grigio. Both were specifically curated for enjoyment at 10,000 feet and higher.

“There are a lot of subtle things happening at altitude — cabin pressure and dry, thin air impact your sense of smell, and your perception of sweet and salty are suppressed,” said Donny Sebastiani, chairman of Sonoma Bespoke. “So, we try to make wines that balance those factors out: we select lots that are perfumy and aromatic, as well as wines from riper, sweeter grapes that add a fruit-forward component.”
Both Altus Sol wines are made from blends of different grapes found around coastal California. While there may only be two varietals at the moment, Allegiant’s new wine program was designed to be dynamic.
“We are only limited by our own creativity,” Sebastiani said. “We look forward to the next generation of Altus Sol wines!”
