We Persist is an orchestral concert/recording anthem, generally intended to be performed at the start of any concert. The piece was written in a spirit of hope and endurance at the three months into the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States.
The piece was designed to be performed both during and after a time of pandemic: At the time of this writing members, of orchestras are in self-quarantine, self-isolation, or are mandated to shelter-at-home. Individual members of an orchestra can each record their individual parts to a metronome/click track. If this piece is being performed this way, the performer should wait for four clicks before beginning to record the work at its given tempo. This piece was also conceived looking forward to the first public concerts that orchestras can perform after this hiatus.
