Health & Counseling
In preparation for the 2026-27 academic year, there are two items for all new students to address regarding immunizations and health insurance. If you have not completed these steps, please take note of the following:
Health Services: University Medical Clinic
University Medical Clinic (UMC) is conveniently located on campus at the Brick House, 823 E. Amity Ave. See the campus map at nnu.edu/map.
UMC provides confidential health care to students. Services include acute & chronic care, yearly wellness exam, medication management, lab services, as well as other primary care needs. Our campus nurse will also provide triage evaluations.
Student medical insurance will be billed at the time of visit (co-pays are covered by student fees).
UMC provides high-quality on campus health care to students with same or next-day appointments, as well as the convenience of loaner equipment, such as crutches, eliminating the need to purchase or rent elsewhere.
Immunizations
The following immunizations are strongly recommended for your consideration in consulting with your healthcare provider. Documentation of your choice is required when you complete the Health Form on your Applicant Status Page

Health Insurance
NNU requires that all students have health insurance. Please use careful consideration of the adequacy of current insurance coverage for use while the student is away from home. If you have questions or concerns, contact your Admissions Counselor.
Counseling Services: University Counseling Center
The University Counseling Center is the home of NNU Counseling Services, which includes licensed counselors and interns providing client-centered mental health counseling. Because we use a walkin model, there are a variety of scheduling and counseling options. We provide free confidential counseling services for NNU undergraduate students. As an undergraduate student, you can walk in, call or email to schedule a session: counselingcenter@nnu.edu or 208.467.8466.
Counseling Services also oversee the Peer Mentor program, a group of returning students who provide peer support for undergraduate students. They are trained in confidentiality, making appropriate referrals, being good listeners and reaching out to others. Each wing in the first-year residence halls is assigned a Peer Mentor to partner with the Resident Assistant (RA) on that wing. There are also Peer Mentors for athletes, transfer and commuter students.
The University Counseling Center is located beside the Alumni House at 518 E. Dewey Ave and is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

I expected to be enrolled in a particular math or science course for my major. Why am I not enrolled in that course?
Some math and science courses have prerequisites based on your ACT/SAT/Accuplacer math scores or classes/tests you have successfully completed for college credit. It is the student’s responsibility to order an official transcript from the college(s)/ university(s) that provided the credits for NNU to recognize the credits. If you believe your current placement in math or science courses is inaccurate, please contact the Center for Academic Success & Advising (casa@nnu.edu).
Accuplacer Test Information: The Accuplacer test for math and English placement is available at NNU for $10 per test. The Center for Academic Success & Advising is available to administer the test during the summer, during NNU Launch and throughout the academic year. Accuplacer tests are also widely available at community college and university testing centers around the country. If you plan to complete an Accuplacer test elsewhere, be sure to register through the Center for Academic Success & Advising to ensure you complete the correct tests. Upon receipt of your official test scores indicating math or English proficiency, the Center for Academic Success & Advising will make adjustments to your schedule.
Why am I enrolled in courses I’ve already completed or received credit for (AP, IB, CLT, CLEP or another college)?
NNU must receive final official transcripts or test scores before credit can be awarded. This includes AP, IB, CLT and CLEP exams, as well as coursework completed through concurrent enrollment or another college or university.
In most cases, transcripts or test scores are not sent until after final grades are posted, which may be mid-summer. It is your responsibility to ensure all official documents are sent to NNU.

PRTH1710: Vocation & Calling
Emphasis will be given to the experience of a “call.” Stories of how others have experienced their call and/or come to serve in their vocation will be considered in each class session. It involves helping students consider what God has created them to do and be as His children in our world.
A Strengths-Based Approach (STSK1810) reviews your options before choosing a major. Research demonstrates that early, intentional engagement in the career discovery process leads to a higher level of commitment and less floundering. This course offers two credits and it is offered during Quad 2 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 to 11:55 p.m.

Dorm & roommate info
How big is my dorm room?
If you are in Dooley Hall (first-year women), your room is 11’6 x 14’7. If you are in Sutherland Hall (firstyear women), your room is 11’ 5” x 15’ 5”. If you are in Culver Hall (first-year men), your room size is 15’3” x 11’3”. All of these rooms are two-person rooms and can adequately accommodate two people. All rooms in Dooley and Culver have blinds and are airconditioned.
What should I bring for my room?
Bring all your personal bed linens and towels. Culver Hall beds are XL twin size; Dooley Hall beds are standard twin, so plan accordingly! Computers, microwaves and small refrigerators are permitted in each room. You may hang appropriate posters and pictures (please do not use nails, tacks or tape).
Shelving units may not be installed into walls. Toasters, toaster ovens or candles are not allowed due to safety reasons. With the exception of small
fish, no pets are allowed.
Live in Community
On-campus living makes it easy to be part of a community that is there to do life with you. Whether it’s a study buddy, a roommate or a new best friend down the hall, there’s always someone ready to join you for a late-night snack at Stella’s, an adventure around town or a weekend movie marathon.

1. NNU utilizes Handshake, an online career network, to promote jobs and internships. At the start of each semester, Career Development invites students via their NNU email address to activate their Handshake account. Students can search for on-campus student positions, local community jobs, part-time off-campus positions, as well as internships and full-time positions.
*Note: You must complete your tech orientation first and get your NNU email before you can apply.
2. Regarding on-campus student positions—all students are eligible to apply. If you qualify for work-study, most on-campus positions are eligible; for clarification, check with Career Development. In addition, the America Reads/America Counts program overseen by Financial Aid is work-study eligible.
Once hired for a position, students will complete an I-9 (employment eligibility verification form) and W-4 through NNU’s HR system. Students must have original identification necessary to complete the I-9 form; photocopies are not acceptable. Please review the list of acceptable documents at nnu.edu/employment-opportunities.
Financial Aid
How do I view my Financial Aid Offer?
A Financial Aid Offer lets you know all the amounts and types of aid we know about for you. You should have received your Financial Aid Offer and a packet of information in the mail, but it is also listed on your Applicant Status Page and needs to be accepted or declined by you there.
Have you accepted your aid?
Go to your Applicant Status Page and select the Financial Aid tab to find your Financial Aid Offer, then accept or decline. Please review all your aid options so you know what is available to you and accept all the aid you expect to need this year. Decline anything you will not be using. Decisions on student loans can be adjusted later if you change your mind about needing to borrow. Just contact your Financial Aid Counselor if you need help with your loans after making an initial decision on them.
What’s next now that you’ve accepted your aid?
If you accepted loans, go to studentaid.gov. Under the Loans and Grants dropdown, find and complete these two items under “Get a Loan”:
- Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Loan Entrance Counseling
*The user ID and password for this task is the same one used to submit the FAFSA.
Have you completed all of your required documents?
Access your required documents by going to your Applicant Status Page and selecting Financial Aid Offer on the Financial Aid tab. When you get to the offer page, scroll down below the offer to view any missing documents you may need to complete.
Do you have a Church Match in your Financial Aid Offer?
Please be sure you contact your church right away to facilitate them sending their Estimated Church Award contribution to NNU. Often there are steps your church wants you to take to qualify for this scholarship from them that NNU will match.
Do you have other external scholarships, a church scholarship or Veterans Benefits
you are expecting that is not listed on
your Financial Aid Offer?
Be sure to let your Financial Aid Counselor know about these or other ways you are planning to pay your bill this year.
If you are anticipating outside scholarships or aid not currently listed on your Financial Aid Offer, please discuss those with your financial aid advisor so that they may be added. You may need to follow up with the individuals or organizations that awarded your scholarships to tell them where to send their payments.
Cost & Student Accounts
When is my bill due?
Financial arrangement of the balance due on your student account must be completed by the Friday preceding the first day of the semester: August 17, 2026, for Fall Semester, & January 4, 2027, for Spring Semester. By that date, the student account must be covered by any combination of the following:
• Paid in Full: Pay your portion of the balance due online through your Applicant Status Page
• International Students: You may pay in your own currency using your credit card or from any foreign bank by using NNU’s authorized online payment plan platform.
• Semester-Long Payment Plans are available from the NNU Portal (my.nnu.edu) Pay Bill page.
• Military Benefits: The NNU Student Accounts Office must be aware of these benefits in advance of the due date, and the benefits must be paid directly to NNU in order for these to be considered a component of satisfactory payment arrangements.
• Financial Aid: You must have completed ALL paperwork, including any verification documentation that might have been requested of you. Aid must be ready for disbursement on the first day of the semester.
Any student NOT falling into a combination of the above categories will be charged a $200 late fee.
Can I view and and pay my account online?
Please review your Student Account by logging into your Applicant Status Page. Under the Student tab, select Pay Bill.
• Your Course and Fee Statement is displayed on the Pay Bill page. Manually enter the amount of your payment based on the aid you plan to use by clicking on Pay My Bill OR enroll in a payment plan for a small fee per semester. Auto-pay ensures no late fees or interest; page only displays the pending charges and NOT the pending financial aid.
• Evaluate which items of financial aid you intend to use and subtract that from your charges.
• Enter your payment amount (what you have calculated is your portion of the balance due) in the Prepayment or Partial Payment box. E-checks are always free. NNU accepts all major credit or debit cards, however, a service fee applies.

Get ready for your college transition as we welcome you to campus!
This week will be full of fun, connection and information to get your college journey started. All first-time undergraduate students are required to attend (this includes transfers as well).

We believe that your success at NNU includes meeting new people, experiencing the Boise Valley and making memories that will last a lifetime. During NNU Launch you will meet future classmates, professors and key campus resources that will be instrumental to your success as an NNU student.
