It’s truly hard to believe another year has come to an end and a new one is beginning. This past year has brought its share of joys and sorrows for many of us, and I urge everyone to hold onto the moments of happiness and gratitude, even amid challenges. During difficult times, there is always something to be thankful for. I lost someone very dear to me this year - someone who was like a father figure - and the ache of missing him is felt every single day. I share this not for pity but to remind us all that we can never truly know what others are going through. If you’re facing your own struggles, please remember you are not alone. The holiday season can be especially tough; let’s approach each other with kindness and compassion. Embrace your loved ones a little more tightly and let them know how much they mean to you. You never know when it might be the last chance. Keep Kristen Chisum Floyd and her family in your hearts; they are mourning not only a beloved mother and wife but also a woman whose kindness and zest for life touched everyone around her. She was far too young and will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to have loved her. This year's Convention BOB recipients were Grace Burgess Anderson (Open) and Joslyn Byers (Youth)!! BOSB recipients were Meadow Sultan & Bethany Robertson (Open) and Carlie Boling (Youth)!! Congratulations on your achievements! And to everyone who placed at this year’s Convention, Congratulations to you as well. Everyone’s animals were a fine representation of our breed. I am deeply thankful for so many aspects of this convention, from the members and volunteers to the show staff who tirelessly dedicated themselves to make this year’s Convention possible. I want to pause and express my gratitude to those who did not just volunteer but also went the extra mile to ensure everything ran seamlessly and helped me keep my sanity - to whatever extent it is still remains. I will mention individuals without any specific order because to me, everyone's contribution to this club is just as vital as the next persons. To the BOD, your passion for this breed and your genuine care for not just the hobby's welfare but also for the members integral to our club's existence are truly commendable. To the Ramrods: Kevin Ayers, Christopher Byers, and DeAnn Calomeni-Boulier, your kindness, patience, and efforts were essential in ensuring the tables ran smoothly. The writers: Michelle Geiser Landis, Lindsay Aversa, and Angela Holbrook, your sense of humor and patience made the show that much more enjoyable, in conjunction with the efforts of the Ramrods. To Bailey Ledesma Perez, I appreciate you taking on what I believe to be one of the least acknowledged jobs, managing the booth

President’s article continued. . . staff; your sense of humor always brings a smile. To Caitlin Hopkins, who undertook another underappreciated task of seeking sponsorships, I truly value your straightforward and honest answers whenever I pose questions. To those in charge of the awards, Kathy Hillery, your creativity and willingness to volunteer for them is admirable. I wish others knew how much thought and love you put into selecting each item. Your efforts made the awards feel especially meaningful, as reflected by the many compliments I received at the convention. JoAnna Snider, in my eyes, you are akin to superwoman organized, efficient, and always ready to help where necessary. Austin Wesley Cole Nash, your creativity and support were crucial in perfecting the awards. Bailey, your knack for knowing whom to contact for the awards and assembling such a fantastic team is commendable. I am grateful to everyone who took time out of their hectic schedules to ensure the booth was always attended to. Dave Arnold, your innovative approach to getting more runners was initially met with skepticism from me; however, I’m thrilled to say you proved me wrong. Not only did we have runners, but not once did we have to ask for a runner. To ALL the runners thank you!! You guys rock! Not once did we have to call for a runner. Without you, the show slow downs which makes for an exceedingly long day. You are one of the main reasons why the show ran so smoothly. The welcome bags that were picked up at the booth, all thanks go to April Sefcik. She made sure there were plenty to go around and added a special touch to them this year, making the design exceptionally adorable. Thank you, April! Michelle Geiser Landis, your efforts to make everyone feel important and your relentless work to ensure the GFA offers some of the finest Woolies each year do not go unnoticed. To those who donated a rabbit to the GFA, I was in awe of the quality of the animals. To those who were so very generous in their donations to the Scholarship Fund, thank you for your generosity in the amazing animals that you chose to donate. To those who put an animal in the Youth Only auction to help with funding the Youth Committee, thank you. I saw quite a few adults eying up those animals and wishing they could bid on them as well. Julie Aversa, you not only ensured I stayed focused but also, along with Cheryl Loesch with whom you shared responsibilities at this convention, often stepped in more than you needed to - times when you both should have been taking time to relax and enjoy. Cheryl Loesch, you, along with Julie, exemplified the term “I got your back” more times than I can count. To our auctioneer Lindsay Aversa you did an amazing job! To Cody Landis thank you for getting the GFA animals up in a timely manner and stepping in to help whenever needed. John Harris Anderson thank you for helping set up the awards banquet. William Medo thank you for helping set up the coops for show day. Gail More thank you for tallying up the GFA in such a prompt manner. To the judges, Gordon Williams, Stacey Easton Martin and Misty Polasik, your enthusiasm for the breed and handling of the animals was appreciated by all. And last, but not least, thank you to you the members. Without you there would be no National Jersey Wooly Rabbit Club. You are the backbone of this community and please never feel as if you cannot come to one of us on the BOD with any of your concerns. I promise we will try to do our best to serve you the members. Wow! What a whirlwind convention it was! It seems to come and go faster every year. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success. Your time, teamwork, and support truly made all the difference. Let’s be honest… it really does feel like Christmas morning when that GFA catalog drops! Congratulations to all our Open and Youth winners! It is always exciting to see the Woolies getting such wonderful, long looks on the BIS table. Hello Wooly Friends, I hope everyone has recovered from Convention. I just unpacked my suitcase, so if you are still playing catch up, I totally get it! We did have a nice little jump in new memberships and renewals, so with Convention and membership updates…I have been a little busy. So, if I failed to get back with anyone or if anyone has any questions about their memberships, please feel free to reach out! As a reminder, all members are welcome to be added to our Facebook Members Only private group. You just need to be added by a current member or admin. You can always reach out to your district rep as well to be added! Also, your district rep is a good resource for any information regarding the National Club! We are all here to help! Hopefully you are all looking forward to coming to Canton, Ohio for our Nationals! The Ohio Jersey Wooly Club has been working hard to make it a great show for everyone! First and foremost, biggest of congratulations to Wild Meadows with their BOSB at convention!!! I am so beyond excited for them!!! Angela Holbrook won BOG with her tan buck, Venus. While I didn't get a photo of him at convention, he did also win a BIS in a War of the Wool, so I got this photo then. Mara Lautzenhiser was named Queen while at convention!! We're so incredibly proud of her!! Way to go Mara!!! A note to everyone from District 1, I really appreciate how kind and helpful you are to each other! I want to extend extra gratitude for your kindness in gifts for the fundraising basket! It went for $120! Hello! I wanted to take a quick minute to introduce myself as the new District 2 Rep. My name is JoAnna Snider, and I stepped into this position in September 2025 after Bailey Ledesma moved into the VP position for NJWRC. I am excited to be representing District 2! A little under 5 years ago, our family embarked on this crazy but fun rabbit journey with my middle and youngest sons. My middle son aged out of youth showing but is still involved in the day-to-day care of the rabbits. My youngest son, John Harris, actively raises, breeds and shows woolies at both local and ARBA shows. We love these little woolies and value the friends we have made along the way. If you see me at a show, please say ‘Howdy’! I am eager to meet and work with each of you. Since our district is so large in distance, I am actively looking for ways to meet as many of you as possible. I’m always available by email or through Messenger! In District News: - District 2 members showed up for the 102nd ARBA Convention in Indianapolis! In Youth, Carlie Boling (TX) won Best Opposite Breed with her homegrown Agouti Buck and John Harris Anderson (TX) won Best of Group with his homegrown Broken Sr Buck. Baelynn Nash (TX) had the 2nd place Shaded buck. Way to go District 2 Youth! -In Open, Shannon Wallace (CO) won BOSG with her Agouti Sr Doe and Stacie Archuleta (TX) had the 2nd place Sr Shaded Buck.

District 5 did an amazing job representing their Woolies at Convention! Congratulations to all! It is always nice getting to connect with breeders all over the country. Returning from Convention I usually start thinking about and planning breedings for Nationals. I feel with things being so late this year, I have had to hit the ground running! I hope that you all are planning to come to an out-of-this-world National in 2026 in Canton, Ohio. The Ohio Jersey Wooly Club is excited to host with “We Love our Woolies to the Moon and Back.” Not only will we be hosting the National along with a Specialty on Saturday, but there will be an art contest (open and youth) as well as a youth Wooly judging contest on Saturday. Hello from District 7! I was so happy to see so many of our breeders from across the country at the ARBA Convention in Indianapolis. What an exciting show that was! When the BIS Group 4 judge pulled Grace's beautiful REW out for a 2nd look, I nearly fainted with joy. While the elusive Group and BIS wins were not meant to be this year, we were very well represented on both the Youth and Open BIS tables. Congratulations to all of the BOG, BOSG, BOB and BOSB winners along with the class winners and everyone else who showed at convention. What lovely and deep classes we had there. I was very lucky to get to write for Gordon Williams and have a front row seat to view all of the fluffy beauties. We have had such an eventful fall showing season here in District 7; many lovely shows full of Jersey Woolies along with lots of laughter and fun. I'd like to highlight a few of the D7 winners from this fall starting with one of our youth... Nikolai Kalinin was one of the ARBA Youth Scholarship recipients this year at convention. He also won Youth BOSG AOV with a beautiful orange at convention. To top it off, he also received a callback for Senior Individual Judging! Way to go Nikolai!!! Barb Sherlock has had an amazing fall showing her beautiful Jersey Woolies. Among her accomplishments this fall, she won BOB and BOSB at Central OH RBA in November with Barbies' Dreamweaver and Barbie's Penelope. She also won BOSB twice at Grand Finals with Barbie's Lara and Barbie's Classy Chic. In September, at the Springfield R&C Breeders show, she won BOSB with Barbie's Lara. I can't wait to see how the rest of your year goes. Christy Przybylowski continued the D7 winning ways by taking BOB at the Carroll County show in Westminster, MD. Steven Buell and Connie Forward have been tearing up the tables with their Jersey Woolies, winning many BOB & BOSB shows across the northeast. I am very excited to watch as they continue to share their love of the hobby with many youth and open breeders, and I can't wait to see how some of their beautiful juniors start to mature. Cody and I were very blessed to win multiple BOB & BOSBs at NY Grand Finals, Southern Adirondack Show, Augusta NJ Show and a few others. Cody was very excited to win Open BIS at the West Virginia show this fall with his buck AFB's Huron. I attached a few pictures from our fall shows. I hope that you are all rested and recuperated from convention and that your nestboxes are full of future winners.

Inductees Julie Aversa and Lindsay Aversa by Cheryl Loesch
The NJWRC’s Hall of Fame award is given by the Board of Directors to members who have contributed to the improvement of the breed and the Club, and whose efforts in this regard are exemplary and worthy of merit. This year, the award was given to Julie Aversa and Lindsay Aversa. Together, Julie and Lindsay exemplify dedicated breeders. Separately, they have each shown their dedication to the breed, the club, and to fellow breeders. Lindsay is the heart of the breeding program, and Julie an enthusiastic partner in the venture. As they select breedings, Julie and Lindsay constantly assess their animals with an eye to their goals, with the end result being a closer representation to the ideal. At Conventions, they consistently show well, almost always having multiple group wins, and in 2024, winning BOB. Julie has been a Director for District 8 for three terms, and as a director she never failed to think of her constituency. She made sure to welcome new members in her district, keep them informed, and work as a liaison to the club in all matters. In fact, Julie also consistently assists members regardless of whether they were in her district, consistently offering help to all. Julie has served on multiple committees, both ad-hoc and long term. Notably, among those are the time she dedicated to the Standards Committee, to the Guidebook Committee, and to the Youth Committee. These each require a high level of commitment and, frankly, selflessness. She brings both ideas and careful thought to the table in all of her work for the club. Julie steps up continuously wherever there is a need. She has served as an aide to a secretary, as an interim treasurer, has been the motivating force behind several fundraising events, and has stepped in to fill the void in countless other tasks. She’ll tell you that she “just loves to craft,” but we have all seen her enthusiasm in putting together the booth at Convention several times now, and this has twice resulted in our club being awarded one of the 3 prizes given for booth décor. And that is just a small part of her work for the club. When I say that Julie steps up wherever there is a need, I mean that she does so consistently, with a staunchness and enthusiasm that is rarely seen. Lindsay annually sets breeding goals that include measured steps for improvement in the herd, looking constantly to the SOP for direction. This is the kind of dedication to the breed that tends to spill beyond one herd and into others through education, working with other breeders and, importantly, working to get youth started. Lindsay has actively encouraged and started many youth in the breed. She educates them and encourages them. Moreover, she genuinely enjoys showing with them and seeing them excel. Lindsay can still be seen at shows encouraging youth breeders and helping them with their breeding goals. In her role as the Club’s Youth Liaison, Lindsay had a vision of forming a portion of the Golden Fleece Auction dedicated to youth only. This idea included encouraging breeders to give top animals with no expectation of monetary return, and to create a space for youth to bid on those animals without competition from open breeders. The desired outcome was for youth to feel like they had a chance in the auction of winning a superlative animal to improve their own herds. This idea has become reality. Their loyalty and dedication to the support and improvement of both Club and Breed are worthy of merit. Congratulations, Julie and Lindsay, on your induction into the National Jersey Wooly Club’s Hall of Fame. 20

I am so incredibly blessed to have won Best of Breed at the 2025 ARBA Convention with B&B's Zephyr! I almost didn't attend this Convention since my daughter couldn't go with me, but I am sure glad that I did! Thank you to the wonderful ladies who invited me to room with them and extended their friendship to me. Zephyr was a late bloomer - I actually liked his sister, Beamer, better for a long time. His grandmother on both sides is B&B's Calypso, who has produced many winning rabbits for me, including the 2023-2024 #8 Rabbit of the Year, B&B's Hey Dude. She is one of those rabbits who produces well regardless who she's bred to, and she has offspring all over the place now with other breeders. It was also VERY thrilling to have Zephyr pulled out for a second look during group judging for BIS! The best part of this win for me, however, was all the genuine congratulations I got from my friends, all the texts, Facebook messages, hugs, and love! 2025 ARBA Convention Open Best Opposite of Breed Wild Meadows’ Manon Self Sr Doe

I am not sure where to begin. Wild Meadows Rabbitry’s adventure started in 1990 when my (Meadow’s) mom went to a show and saw a herd of Jersey Woolies for sale and she bought all 13 of them. I was 14 at the time and my mom and I quickly fell in love with the wonderful temperaments of the Jerseys. Bethany was born into rabbit showing in 1993 and has never lived a day in her life that didn’t involve rabbits. Bethany and I have worked hard over the years to continuously improve our most beloved breed. We are always doing constant herd evaluations, discussing on car rides, late nights, over dinner, any time we can, on what needs improving, how we can achieve goals, even genetics (not my favorite part). We have done well over time, taking #1 herdsman two years in a row, and having multiple BIS & RIS wins, even taking a BOSG broken at a Nationals, but as we all know, there are always higher goals in mind. For the last few years, we have been doing very well with our Jerseys, noticing that our rabbits were carrying very nice topline, but we were lacking mass, ear structure and thickness. We were struggling on how to bring that out in our rabbits. Luckily for us, we have a Netherland Dwarf breeder very close to us, Pat Partipillo from Starstrucks Rabbitry. Occasionally she has fuzzy Dwarfs and will pass them to us. A couple of bucks from her is what really put our pieces together. Our 2025 BOS winner is a REW doe named Wild Meadows Manon. April 22nd, 2025, we had a highly anticipated litter born to Wild Meadows Nesta, a REW doe with multiple BOBs and honorable mention in show wins. The sire to the litter was Starstrucks Blue Cheese. A blue fuzzy Dwarf buck from Pat. Nesta has BEAUTIFUL conformation and one of the best coats in the barn but very much carried a “doe” head. Blue Cheese was all about the mass, with a bold head and thick, round open ears. We were hoping for the best with the cross. Growing up, Manon was a little non-descript and became a “bottom cage dweller” to just grow up. She had a lot of promising points, but as a junior, nothing stood out as spectacular. One day, around 4 months old, we pulled Manon out and her head had started to pop. She held her self perfectly on the table and made Bethany and I raise our eyebrows and really start to watch her. Her first show debut was 3 weeks before Convention where she took two BOS. At this time, we were not going to enter Manon at convention because we were worried about the 4 days ground transport getting there. We bit the bullet and, just before entries closed for convention, at Bethany’s insistence, I entered Manon. Then I was a nervous wreck for the next 3 weeks! The rest, as they say, is history. Bethany and I went to convention with top 10 placings being our goal. Anything in the top 10 would put us over the moon. We had a few of those and would have left Convention happy. When Manon took 1st place Self Sr. Doe, we were both in tears. When she took BOSG, we were in disbelief. If anyone goes and watches the video for the BOB/BOS announcement, you will see me in the background exuding anxiety. When Manon was finally announced as the 2025 BOS winner, all I could do was cover my eyes and cry. When I finally looked over at Bethany, she was also streaming tears with the biggest smile! One of the dreams we always had, but never really believed could happen, finally came true. Litte Manon did us the biggest honor and showed her true self after all the travel and noise and stress. We are honored to call her a Wild Meadows rabbit. I want to thank all the breeders who have helped us with stock, mentored us, watched our videos, and supported us. It isn’t just the breed that captured our hearts but all the wonderful people within the breed. We feel truly blessed to have met all of you either online or in person. You all helped get us where we are today and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Last but not least, Bethany and I want to dedicate this win to my mom, Bethany’s grandma, Margaret Lily Wilds. My mom passed away in April of 2024. She was our biggest cheerleader and support through all these years of rabbit raising. If it wasn’t for her bringing home all those woolies so many years ago and lighting a passion in me and then in Bethany, we wouldn’t have been there to see our girl Manon take her big win. We wish more than anything she could have been here with us, but we know she is watching and smiling and cheering us on with all her heart.

National Jersey Wooly Club 2025 Trio Raffle Won by the Bushmans I am so honored and excited to have won the NJWRC Jersey Wooly Trio Raffle this year. To say I was surprised is an understatement! We kept our breeding program very small in 2025, as we welcomed our first baby. So, I am extra excited to add such quality rabbits and lines to my herd as we look ahead to 2026. A heartfelt thank you to Laurie and Carlie Wood, Julie and Lindsay Aversa, and Christy Przybylowski Botson for donating these beautiful rabbits. Thank you again to the NJWRC and to everyone who made this raffle possible!

Runner Rabbit Raffle Winners - the Beckers On show day, Conner and I helped all day getting rabbits to and from the show table. Honestly, we enjoy being runners at conventions, so we would do it either way. But when we heard about Runners Rabbit Raffle, we were extra excited to have a chance to win a rabbit from a great breeder. I hoped and prayed one of our tickets would be drawn. I was so excited and emotional when my name was announced as the winner! It means everything to us and our small rabbity to get an amazing rabbit from such an incredible, generous, and thoughtful person and breeder like Dave Arnold! We hope this doe will bring us and our herd to another level. I cannot wait to get her on the show tables next spring and get some babies from her soon! We are so grateful to Dave for sharing one of his amazing rabbits and entrusting her with our family!

for Kristen Chisum Floyd By Stacy Easton-Martin With very heavy heart I write this memorial. Kristen Chisum Floyd was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2025. Kristen and her family raised Jersey Woolys, among other breeds; her daughter Keely showed the Jersey Wooly's. Kristen, along with her husband Curtis and daughters Karley, Kali, Keely, and Kennedy, are very active in the rabbit community. Kristen was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was very devoted to her family; they always came first no matter what. She loved them fiercely! Kristen was one of a kind. She was sassy, spunky, fun to be around, loved her family, and those she called family, fiercely. She was a hard worker, and she instilled that into her girls. She not only loved her rabbits but she loved her cattle and horses. She didn't know the impact she had on others in this world. If she called you friend she meant it and would do what she could to help you. If she called you family, no matter if you were blood or not, she meant every word. She would beat down obstacles to try to help you if you needed help. She always had answers and solutions to solve issues. She was the heart and soul of many Texas shows. Kristen was show superintendent of several shows in Texas and would always help other clubs no matter what show she attended, no matter what state. Kristen had an amazing heart and the youth was her main focus. She was one of the strongest people I knew. If it was her show or convention, she always walked around to the judges to make sure we had something to drink and snacks. Not many think of that, but Kristen always did. She put others before herself. I was in Texas judging last winter, and it was freezing; I was so cold. She took off her snow suit and told me to put it on. I told her no. I told her I would be ok, that I didn't want her to freeze. Well, she put the snow suit on me herself! That's the type of person she was, very giving and helpful. The rabbit community lost an amazing woman; Kristen will be dearly missed. I will miss seeing her contagious smile and feeling those big bear I-love-you-sis hugs. Many prayers and thoughts go out to her family and friends in these days to come.

Hello NJWRC Members! It was great to see so many of you in Indy! I’m going to keep this short because I know this issue of the Fluff is loaded with convention results!! Speaking of convention results – these points *do not* include convention – I don’t have the reports yet (which isn’t unusual, no cause for concern!). As many of you know, I recently finished a massive (year-long & then some!) project for another breed. We finally were able to seal it up and I’m on the path to being completely caught up again. The points included in this Fluff are shows dated 7/2025 thru 10/2025 for which reports were received in good order before 12/5/2025. National Jersey Wooly Rabbit Club Memorial Scholarship Youth Scholarship Application Up to two Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000. Applications are due by April 1st. Please answer all the questions completely. Applications need to be typed in a separate document with questions answered in a narrative format. Send application by email to NJWRC Secretary at njwrcsecretary@gmail.com. You will receive confirmation that the application was received. Scholarship Recipients: • Must be a member of the NJWRC for a minimum of the last two (2) years. • Must be completing high school in the same year as applying for the scholarship. • Must be planning on attending a college, trade school, or other type of post-secondary education in the same year, and plan to use the funds for school expenses. • May only be awarded the NJWRC memorial scholarship one time. • Submit a completed application to the committee no later than April 1st of the year that the scholarship is to be awarded. • Include two (2) letters of reference. The letters can be from a school official (teachers), 4H or FFA advisors, etc. Please include in the letter how this person knows you. These letters can be submitted separately to the NJWRC secretary at njwrcsecretary@gmail.com. In the email subject line, type scholarship application.
