The NIOP Rules Committee has spent the past two years carefully reviewing and revising the NIOP Trading Rulebook. After extensive work, the committee has completed its updates!

On Tuesday, March 11, the Rules Committee (along with other NIOP members and leaders) met and unanimously approved the proposed updates to the Rulebook. This meeting was required by the NIOP Bylaws, marking the final step in the Rules Committee’s review process. All NIOP members were encouraged to attend this meeting and ask any questions regarding the updates to the Rulebook.

On Tuesday, March 18, Rules Committee Chairman, Brett Peterson, asked the NIOP Board of Directors to approve the changes to the Rulebook. A motion was made, seconded, and carried to approve the updates.
April 17, 2025 marked the end of the 30 day waiting period in which the NIOP membership was able to submit any objections/feedback on the proposed changes to the Rulebook. There were no objections submitted to NIOP Staff.
Big news the NIOP Board has approved making the Rulebook public! What was once an exclusive resource for members is now available for anyone to view. You can now easily share the NIOP Rulebook with your customers, clients, and prospects, helping to promote greater understanding and consistency across our industry
This step forward supports our ongoing commitment to strengthening and advancing the oilseed sector.

NIOP extends its sincere thanks to the Rules Committee for their outstanding work in updating the NIOP Rulebook. Version 25 would not have been possible without the dedication, expertise, and efforts of each committee member and Chairman Brett Peterson. The NIOP Board and leadership are grateful for the time and commitment invested in this important project, which strengthens the foundation of our organization and industry.
