Notice to all Visitors and Traders Please read and observe the following: • Excessive dirty vehicles will not be allowed entry, therefore ensure vehicle is clean before arrival. • All vehicles transporting livestock will be subject to a documentation check before entry to market site. • All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site. • All visitors and traders using car park areas please use main entrance. • All persons delivering livestock to mart must park on the hardcore area at the back of the site and then proceed along the designated route to the biosecurity control next to the supervisors office. • Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading. • Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised “pass slip” has been issued by the main office. • No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale. • Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock. • Wash hands thoroughly when leaving livestock pennage areas. • Please observe our staff’s instructions at all times.

General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The Sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle, Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. Potential purchasers MUST REGISTER with Harrison & Hetherington Ltd prior to the sale and again upon entry to the market Tel: 01228 406200 or email: info@borderway.com Face coverings are mandatory for all persons entering the mart. These must be worn without exception while in the market including the sales rings and pens. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle between 12 noon and 2pm on sale day, or Prior Inspection of the sheep is most welcome by appointment with the vendors (see page 1). CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale as recommended by The Livestock Auctioneers' Association. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly on catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. LIVE STREAM BIDDING: If you are unable or do not wish to attend the mart but would like to bid on animal(s), then the auctioneers will faithfully execute commission bids for buyers. Please contact them and put your instructions in writing 48 hours in advance of the sale – 01228 406230/406200. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a telephone bid during the sale. Everyone is encouraged to register for the online bidding app. This can be used to bid from home, remotely from other areas in the market, or in any of the sales rings. All buyers attending the sale are strongly encouraged to register for the online bidding app as they may have been drawn for a position in the virtual ring in the ballot. Please refer to individual sales for the respective Viewing days and times • Face coverings are mandatory for all persons entering the mart. These must be worn without exception while in the market including the sales rings and pens • To facilitate the Test and Trace system, all customers/visitors will be required to sign into the market. This process will include a declaration that they have not been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19, nor are displaying symptoms personally • Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the mart; however, it is strongly recommended that both consignors and buyers have an adequate personal supply and to use it regularly • Please follow instructions from market staff and security staff. A private security firm will be in attendance to assist H&H in ensuring social distancing is observed wherever possible • Strictly no private videoing/broadcasting on Social media, or phones etc in the pens or ring • If you are unable or do not wish to attend the mart but would like to bid on animal(s), then the auctioneers will faithfully execute commission bids for buyers. Please contact them and put your instructions in writing 48 hours in advance of the sale. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a telephone bid during the sale Everyone is encouraged to register for the online bidding app. This can be used to bid from home, remotely from other areas in the market, or in any of the sales rings All buyers attending the sale are strongly encouraged to register for the online bidding app as they may have been drawn for a position in the virtual ring in the ballot You can register for the app on http://apps.ams1.auctionsolutions.com/registration/hhnewline/hhnewlineprod001/bregister.php Please be kind and respect each other to ensure everyone keeps safe at all times
GENERAL INFORMATION BIOSECURITY – Intending purchasers are requested to have livestock vehicles cleansed and disinfected. Vendors will be required to wash out their livestock vehicles after unloading.
