Maedi-Visna Accredited sections will be provided where applicable. All M.V Accredited Rams will be eligible to be sold in the Accredited section. This MUST be intimated to the Auctioneers at time of entry otherwise they will be sold in the Non Accredited Maedi Visna section. Please refer to individual sales for the respective Viewing days and times Face coverings are mandatory for all persons entering the mart. These must be worn without exception while in the market including the sales rings and pens To facilitate the Test and Trace system, all customers/visitors will be required to sign into the market. This process will include a declaration that they have not been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19, nor are displaying symptoms personally Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the mart; however, it is strongly recommended that both consignors and buyers have an adequate personal supply and to use it regularly Please follow instructions from market staff and security staff. A private security firm will be in attendance to assist H&H in ensuring social distancing is observed wherever possible Strictly no private videoing/broadcasting on Social media, or phones etc in the pens or ring If you are unable or do not wish to attend the mart but would like to bid on animal(s), then the auctioneers will faithfully execute commission bids for buyers. Please contact them and put your instructions in writing 48 hours in advance of the sale. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a telephone bid during the sale

GENERAL INFORMATION BIOSECURITY – Intending purchasers are requested to have livestock vehicles cleansed and disinfected. Vendors will be required to wash out their livestock vehicles after unloading.

NOTICE TO PURCHASERS Business Trading Terms and Settlement of Purchases
Payment due on Day of Purchase Interest chargeable from date of purchase at 7.25% over Clydesdale Bank base rate at the time, for accounts in default Purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law in England and Scotland. Accepted forms of payments – direct bank transfer; debit card; cheque – known customers only; bankers draft 2% surcharge will apply to Business Credit Card payments If payment is made by credit card, it must be linked to a business bank account Completion of a Buyers Slip is essential for parties who have not dealt with the Company before. No lots can leave the market without a ‘Pass Slip’ being issued by the office. New customers and or agents wishing to purchase on behalf of another party must contact the company’s main office at Carlisle at least 48 hours prior to sale, to provide full details and references for authorization. Please note that all lots/items must be settled on the day of purchase and prior to clearance of any stock . Excessively dirty vehicles will not be allowed entry, therefore ensure your vehicle is clean before arrival All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site Haulier and Farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before loading and unloading No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale unless by prior arrangement

All sheep consigned to this sale must be accompanied by the correct movement documents and all vendors must ensure that holding and flock numbers are supplied. All Rams should be clearly numbered on their back. If any Rams are not clearly numbered on their back, they will not be eligible to be sold in the Sales. The auctioneers will not be liable in any way for any deficiencies in either the vendors tagging of sheep nor the reading equipment being used at the CPRC in accordance with the EID regulations nor any reading or print out Consignors guaranteeing rams as stock-getters, intimation of any claims in respect of rams not fulfilling the warranty must be intimated to the auctioneer with 10 weeks of sale day, accompanied by a Veterinary Surgeon’s certificate.The amount of claim will be restricted to the purchase price of the ram and will not include any loss of profit or consequent loss. Extract taken from LAA Conditions of Sale. 43 Stock Rams 43.1 Vendor’s warranty The Vendor warrants that any ram sold as a stock ram for the amount in paragraph (j) of the Appendix or more is capable of natural service. The warranty is a 10 week warranty 43.2 Purchasers Rights If the purchaser proves a breach of warranty the Purchaser may return the ram to the Vendor who shall, at the Purchaser’s option, either replace the ram with another ram of equal value which is capable of natural serve, or refund the purchase price together with such other costs and charges as the Purchaser may be entitled to under these Conditions. For the avoidance of any doubt if the Purchaser is able to obtain viable semen from the ram for use by artificial insemination he shall not be entitled to any claim against the Vendor for breach of warranty Notice of a claim must be supported by a Veterinary Surgeon’s Certificate confirming that: a/ the ram’s inability incapacity or ineffectiveness is not the result of injury, accident or illness happening after the time of sale; and b) the Purchaser’s breeding stock are not responsible for the ram’s inability incapacity or ineffectiveness. Please ensure that all Sheep are ear tagged to comply with regualation It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are out with any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics, anthelmintic or sheep dip that the seller may haven given prior to sale. No lots can leave the market without a pass slip being issued by the main office Sheep not balloted will not be eligible for the Sale. Loss or damage: The Auctioneers accept no responsibility or liability whatever the loss, injury or damage to any person, animal or property on Mart. NO RIGS shall be exposed for sale. All Rams presented for sale must be in fit and healthy condition, in accordance with the Welfare of Animals at Markets Order 1990 (as amended) Sheep Scab Preventative Measures – All sheep must be treated with a licenced product for the control of sheep scab, in accordance with the manufactuer’s instructions, within 14 days prior to their arrival at the Ram Sales
