General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The Sale will be held in Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING: The Sale Cattle will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle – on the morning of the sale from 9am onwards. CONDITIONS OF SALE: The sale will be held under the National Beef Association Conditions of Sale. METHOD OF SALE: All cattle will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS: The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. REGISTRATIONS: All stock in the Sale are registered with the British Limousin Cattle Society. PEDIGREE TRANSFERS: The official pedigree transfers will be paid by the vendors and effected by the British Limousin Cattle Society. Purchasers must notify the sales office on day of sale. FOXHILLFARM FOUNDATION FEMALE SALE The Foxhillfarm herd has enjoyed unparalleled success in less than a decade, thanks in large, to our phenomenal foundation females which have bred consistently well for us, producing numerous show winners and high-priced stock. Now some nine years in to our Limousin journey, having won championships at five Carlisle sales, five Great Yorkshire Shows, four Royal Highland Shows and two Royal Welsh Shows, as well as Triple Crowns with Gracie in 2013 and Naomi in 2019 and a Champion of Champions title at the Limousin Grand prix in 2019 at Kelso with Naomi, we are delighted to offer a number of the herd’s leading lights for sale at Carlisle on Friday 31st July. Notably, much of the herd’s show success has been achieved with young females, with it being herd policy to only show heifers at, or under, three years of age. These select females come from the very heart of the herd, including the exceptional breeder Bankdale Elizabeth (Lot 3), herself a daughter of Bankdale Alice, whose progeny have grossed more than £600,000 at auction. Such has been the influence of this breeding line on the herd that last year’s unstoppable show heifer, Foxhillfarm Naomi, is another from this family, being out of Foxhillfarm Isla, a full sister to Elizabeth. This sale features females that have not only bred well for us, but daughters of some of our best, such as Alice, Gracie, Illusion, Ivy, Krystal and Mammamia. SERVICE SIRE: ★ FOXHILLFARM LORDOFTHERING ★ By Guards Boomer and out of Bankdale Alice, Lordofthering was breed and interbreed champion at Devon County and male champion at the Royal Highland Show in 2016. In the same year he was also reserve male champion at the 45th Limousin Anniversary Show in Carlisle, behind the herd’s main stock sire Trueman Jagger. He was sold in Carlisle, October 2016, having stood supreme champion, for 35,000gns and returned home for the 2017 show season. His successes included taking the male championship at the Royal Cornwall Show, the male championship at the Royal Highland, breed and reserve interbreed champion at the Great Yorkshire Show as well as the Blythewood Pairs championship at Great Yorkshire and interbreed group of four and junior male championship at the Royal Welsh and exhibitor bred group of three winner. His first progeny born at Foxhill was Foxhillfarm Ourbest, who sold in October 2019 to Gordon Cameron for 26,000gns.

Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading.

Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised “pass slip” has been issued by the main office.
No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale.

Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock.

Wash hands thoroughly when leaving pennage areas.
●
Please observe our staff’s instructions at all times. Our on site Biosecurity Officer, will only be too pleased to give you assistance.
