General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: This sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The market is on the left-hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. ARRIVAL OF STOCK: Thursday 26th August 12noon-7pm Friday 27th August 7am – 10am INSPECTION: All sheep forward for the sale will be subject to a breed inspection. METHOD OF SALE: All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and a commission of 5.25% will be charged by the Auctioneers on all sales. SOCIETY LEVY: A Society Levy of 1% will be deducted from the vendors account and paid to the British Dorper Sheep Society. CONDITIONS OF SALE: The Sale will be held subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Livestock Auctioneers Association and the Auctioneers Standard Conditions of Sale SUBSTITUTE ENTRIES: Any substitutions must be made no later than 24 hours prior to the sale. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK: Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of sale. No animal may leave the sale premises without an official ‘pass slip’ obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement. EXPORT TO NORTHERN IRELAND: As of 1 January 2021, the rules for exporting sheep from the United Kingdom to Northern Ireland and the European Union have changed for moving breeding stock to Northern Ireland – NO Direct Export or Vendor Returns will be available. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser and/or the vendor to make any necessary arrangements for sheep going to Northern Ireland.
