General Information & Sale Notes Location: The Sale will be held at the Borderway Mart, Rosehill, Carlisle, Cumbria situated close to the M6 Junction 43. Motorists (from north or south) should leave the Motorway at this Junction and turn west towards Carlisle on the A69. The Mart is within1/4 mile of the Motorway (filter left at the traffic lights) on the Rosehill Industrial Estate. Method and Order of Sale: All animals will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order unless any alteration is authorised and announced by the Auctioneers. Conditions Of Sale: The sale is held subject to the Auction Sale Rules of HUKI and the Auctioneers General Terms and Conditions of Sale, both available on request. Settlement And Clearance Of Stock: Settlement in full is due to the Auctioneers immediately at the conclusion of the Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official PASS, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement and all stock should be cleared from the sale premises on the day of the sale. Commissions: The Auctioneers will faithfully execute commissions to purchase on behalf of buyers unable to attend the sale in person upon receipt of written notice and instructions received in their office not later than 48 hours before commencement of sale. Given the same notice telephone bids can be accommodated. Insurance: Facilities will be available (through H&H Insurance Brokers Ltd.) for buyers to insure their animals for transit and other risks, from the fall of the hammer. Foreword The DARRAHILL Holstein herd is currently averaging 10467kgs 4.13% butterfat 3.31% protein at the last test the herd averaged 33kgs with an average cell count of 140. The only reason this dispersal sale is taking place is due to Muller no longer collecting milk north of Aberdeen. This is a highly efficient herd of productive Holsteins. The GENUS mating programme had been used up to 2018 with the criteria to breed medium sized cows with deep open frames and strong legs and feet and quality udders. Since 2018 most of the genetics used have been purchased from WorldWide Sires and Semex. Most of the animals selling have calved since August. They are cubicle housed and on two times milking and fed on a TMR. The in-calf heifers are outstanding with a large percentage of the in-calf heifers carrying sexed semen and the heifers are sired by SEAGULL-BAY SILVER, SANDY-VALLEY PISTON, ALL. NURE SECRETARIAT. Health Status The herd is vaccinated for IBR, BVD & Lepto. The herd is tested clear of BVD and has been testing for Johnes for the past ten years and is currently clear of the disease. The farm is situated in a 4 year TB testing area and there has never been a case on the farm.
