NOTICE TO PURCHASERS

Completion of an account opening form is required for all customers who do not have a live H&H trading account, available at Business Trading Terms and Settlement of Purchases Payment due on Day of Purchase.

Interest chargeable from date of purchase at 7.25% over Clydesdale Bank base rate at the time, for accounts in default Purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law in England and Scotland Accepted form of payments

direct bank transfer; debit card; cheque - known customers only; bankers draft 2% surcharge will apply to Business Credit Card payments

If payment is made by credit card, it must be linked to a business bank account

NEW CUSTOMERS AND OR AGENTS wishing to purchase on behalf of another party must contact the company's main office at Carlisle at LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO SALE, to provide full details and references for authorisation

Please note that all lots/items must be settled on the day of purchase and prior to clearance of any stock.

For the avoidance of doubt H&H reserve the right to contra or keep sale proceeds to offset against an outstanding account.

ARRIVAL of animals will only be allowed from: Friday 6th March 2pm – 7pm • Saturday 7th March 6.30am onwards

TB – Animals on a 12 month test holding or from holdings which require pre-movement testing (PRMT) MUST be tested within 60 days of the sale and a respective certificate MUST be provided.

TB testing status will be displayed at the point of sale (1, 1pt or 4) and (4S) indicates animals which are eligible to move to Scotland without further testing and have resided on a four holding all their life. The last test date will be displayed if supplied

All un-entered cattle and those missing their turn in the ballot will be offered for sale at the end of the catalogue entries.

Please note all cattle must be double tagged with approved tags.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are outwith any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics and anthelmintics that the seller may have given prior to sale.

Conditions of Sale: All purchasers must ensure that all documentation received is correct and any discrepancies must be notified to the auctioneers within two working days

Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the mart recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers Association for England and Wales. All heifers offered for sale through this ring are not warranted as breeders unless otherwise stated. Please note that ear numbers for all cattle must be given to the Auctioneers on the respective entry forms supplied.

“Payment will only be made to the exhibitor” All sucklers must be declared at the time of the sale.

PLEASE OBSERVE BIO SECURITY RULES

● Excessive dirty vehicles will not be allowed entry, therefore ensure vehicle is clean before arrival.

● All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site.

● Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading and leaving the site.

● Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock.

● Wash hands thoroughly when leaving livestock pennage areas.

Our on site Bio-security Officer, Stuart Graham will only be too pleased to give you assistance.

NB: All individual prize winners (1st – 3rd) in classes 1 to 12 to be offered for sale commencing at 9.30am on sale day – Champion & Reserve Champion will be sold first (All prize winners must be offered in this section Prize Money – will be withheld unless the winners are sold)

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Champion heifer and steer will receive a Perpetual Challenge Quaich presented by Royal Bank of Scotland and £100 cash prize.

Champion Steer will receive a Perpetual Challenge Quaich presented by Royal Bank of Scotland and £100 cash prize.

Reserve Champion animals will receive £50 cash prize. Overall Champion animal will receive the Edward Barton Memorial Trophy

Borderway Agri Expo, Live Scot, English Winter Fair & Royal Welsh Winter Fair, Royal Ulster Premier Beef Championships If the Supreme Champion at the above National Shows has been purchased from any of Harrison & Hetherington’s sales centres during the period of 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026 a prize of £1000 will be awarded, providing the exhibitor was the purchaser of that Champion animal. (subject to these events taking place)
