General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The Sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the day of the sale, or prior viewing of the sheep is most welcome by appointment with the vendors (see page 11). CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale as recommended by The Livestock Auctioneers’ Association. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found on the website https://harrisonandhetherington.co.uk/other/accommodation/ METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. KNAP FLOCK ROBERT COCKBURN This year we put forward for sale as good a pen of gimmers as we’ve had, mostly sired by Sportsmans Cannon Ball. Cannon Ball is the most consistent breeding ram we’ve used with son’s selling to 26,000gns twice, 10,000gns twice, 8500gns and 7000gns. Daughter’s have already sold for 8,000gns, 5000gns, 4100gns and 4000gns. He is also sire of Daisy Duke Textravaganza Supreme Champion. Due to having a very large number of quality ewe lambs this year we have only retained 4 stock gimmers (all by cannon Ball) compared to our usual 10 so this consignment includes genuine stock gimmers. WHAT IS NOT COVERED
• Death or slaughter on humane grounds, resulting from an accident, illness or disease, of an insured animal within 3 calendar months from when the animal is delivered to the purchaser. • This includes the pregnancy and parturition risk for female livestock • The price paid for the insured animal, up to: - £20,000 if sold via an accredited / recognised auction market. (note, this is specifically for when the animal is not at the auction premises) - £7,000 if an animal is sold via a livestock sales website or breed society website.
• Injury sustained, or illness or disease that first appears, before cover starts • Theft, straying and mysterious disappearance • The value of any semen or ova extracted from the animal for artificial insemination or embryo transfer • Money received if the buyer sells the deceased animal • Slaughter for economic reasons or because the animal is incapable of performing its intended function • Slaughter on the order of the authorities or under the rules of a disease eradication scheme.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PAYING THE PREMIUM You can pay your premium by cash, bank transfer, cheque, and debit or credit card. WHEN DOES THE COVER START AND END? Your policy will run for 3 months, from the fall of the hammer or when the animal is delivered to the purchaser. The start and end date of your insurance cover will be stated in your policy schedule. CANCELLING THE CONTRACT You’ve taken this insurance to benefit purchasers who buy animals from you. In agreeing to take this policy, you’ve accepted its terms and conditions, and therefore cannot cancel the cover. GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITS This policy covers you in the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or if temporarily removed to the Republic of Ireland, unless your policy documents say otherwise.
YOUR OBLIGATIONS All insurance policies include terms and conditions, which you need to comply with. You’ll find these in your policy documentation, and we’ve provided a summary here: 1. Pay the premium, and tell us about any incidents that may lead to a claim as soon as possible. 2. Take reasonable steps to avoid loss or damage. 3. Tell us of any changes affecting the risk you’ve insured. If you’re unsure whether we need to know about a particular change, tell us anyway and we’ll let you know if it affects the risk.
