GENERAL INFORMATION
ARRIVAL OF SHEEP All sheep must arrive between the hours of 6.00am and 6.00pm on Friday 29th August, or between 7.00am and 8.00am on sale day. All sheep must have been identified with their individual BCSS number and have their UK Tag Number. Also all rams must have been paint branded with their lot number prior to arrival in the market.
INSPECTION All sheep may be inspected by the Society's Official Inspector before being allowed forward for sale. BIOSECURITY Intending purchasers are requested to have livestock vehicles cleansed and disinfected.
LICENCES Vendors are responsible for obtaining their movement licences prior to the sale.

MAEDI VISNA All vendors must ensure that a fully completed MV certificate accompanies their sheep to the sale.
METHOD OF SALE All sheep will be sold in guineas.
MINIMUM SELLING PRICES General minimum selling prices will apply to all sales held under the auspices of the British Charollais Sheep Society. The minimum selling prices for this Sale are as shown below:Rams, Senior/Shearling - 300 gns Ram lambs - 250 gns
Empty Ewes - 180gns
Empty Shearling Ewes - 200gns Ewe Lambs - 200gns
CONDITIONS OF SALE All sheep will be sold subject to the Conditions of Sale of the British Charollais Sheep Society and to the Auctioneer's General Conditions of Sale, which are available in the Auctioneer's office.
PEDIGREE CERTIFICATES Pedigree certificates relating to the sale will be available from the Auctioneer's office on the day of the sale. See note below with regard to Notified Males.
PEDIGREE STATUS FOR MALES Would purchasers please note that there are two different status of registration for Charollais rams, Full Pedigree and Birth Notified. All full pedigree rams are marked as such in the catalogue and have been upgraded by the breeder, all other rams have notified status only.
SCRAPIE GENOTYPE RESULTS
The Scrapie Genotype results listed in this catalogue are guaranteed to be correct by the person whose name appears as the Vendor in the catalogue. Whilst the Society will make all possible effort to provide purchasers with the correct information, they can in no way be held responsible for any error or ommission of information.
FERTILITY GUARANTEES - RAMS & RAM LAMBS
(i) All rams and ram lambs are warranted by the seller capable of natural and effective service within three calendar months from the date of the sale. If at the expiry (the male fertility guarantee period) the ram or ram lamb has failed to prove himself capable of natural and effective service and a veterinary surgeon's certificate is lodged within 14 days from the date of expiry of the male fertility guarantee period with the auctioneers specifying that the ram is so incapable and further that the veterinary surgeon has inspected the buyer's breeding ewes and found them to be in normal responsible breeding condition and not in the aforementioned incapacity then the buyer may return the animal to the seller.
(ii) The animal shall be deemed incapable of natural and effective service if it fails to make at least one ewe pregnant during the male guarantee period under natural breeding conditions and is so certified as being incapable by veterinary surgeons certificate aforementioned. The Society recommends that the veterinary surgeon follows the “Guidelines on the examination of rams for breeding” and also the “SVS Examination Certificate” as issued by the sheep Veterinary Society.
(iii) The buyer shall during the male guarantee period give the animal full and sufficient opportunity to prove that he is capable of natural and effective service.
(iv) Ewes which have been "sponged" and or treated with hormone treatment to induce or synchronise ovulation shall not for the purpose of this guarantee be "in normal condition".
