General Information & Sale Notes Location: The Sale will be held at the Borderway Mart, Rosehill, Carlisle, Cumbria situated close to the M6 Junction 43. Motorists (from north or south) should leave the Motorway at this Junction and turn west towards Carlisle on the A69. The Mart is within1/4 mile of the Motorway (filter left at the traffic lights) on the Rosehill Industrial Estate. Timetable of Events:

Method and Order of Sale: All animals will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order unless any alteration is authorised and announced by the Auctioneers. Conditions Of Sale: The Sale is held subject to the Auctioneers General Terms and Conditions of Sale (printed in this catalogue) and to the Auction Rules and Conditions of Sale from respective Breed Societies. The latter Conditions are not so printed but will be displayed in the Sale Premises and available to those purchasers who require them, in booklet form. Settlement And Clearance Of Stock: Settlement in full is due to the Auctioneers immediately at the conclusion of the Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official PASS, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement and all stock should be cleared from the sale premises on the day of the sale. Pedigree Transfers: Cattle in the sale are registered with the respective breed societies and will be officially transferred and pedigrees for all these animals will be effected by the Auctioneers and the Society as soon as possible after the sale - free of expense to the Purchasers. Commissions: The Auctioneers will faithfully execute commissions to purchase on behalf of buyers unable to attend the sale in person upon receipt of written notice and instructions received in their office not later than 48 hours before commencement of sale. WATSONFOOT HERD This is the second sale to disperse the WATSONFOOT pedigree Holstein herd and the following 9 animals are the most recently calved within the herd. They are averaging 35.8kgs and include five heifers and four cows. Tom and Ann White have been farming at Watsonfoot Farm since 1976 and throughout their farming career have developed a fine pedigree Holstein herd currently averaging 9825kg at 4.23% butterfat and 3.37% protein with an average cell count of 84. The attention to detail is exceptional as is the animal husbandry. One of the first impressions of this fine herd is the power and strength of the cows all with wide chests and quality high wide udders. The Wastonfoot herd was originally graded up from Ayrshires, the GMS mating programme has been used extensively for the past ten years with only the very best proven sires used. The herd is entirely home bred and are cubicle housed throughout the winter months and milked twice daily through a herringbone parlour. Herd Health The herd is vaccinated for IBR, BVD & Lepto. The IBR booster was given on the 5th August and the BVD & Lepto booster were given in the spring. The herd is accredited free of BVD. The herd is tested free of Johnes and has never had a positive test. The herd is situated in a four-year TB testing area and was TB tested in March 2019 and there has never been a case on the farm.
