General Information & Sale Notes Location: The Sale will be held at the Borderway Mart, Rosehill, Carlisle, Cumbria situated close to the M6 Junction 43. Motorists (from north or south) should leave the Motorway at this Junction and turn west towards Carlisle on the A69. The Mart is within1/4 mile of the Motorway (filter left at the traffic lights) on the Rosehill Industrial Estate. Timetable of Events: Tuesday 18th May Arrival of Stock 5pm - 7pm Timetable of Events: Wednesday 19th May Arrival of Stock 7am onwards Sale 11.00am Method and Order of Sale: All animals will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order unless any alteration is authorised and announced by the Auctioneers. Conditions Of Sale: The Sale is held subject to the Auctioneers General Terms and Conditions of Sale (printed in this catalogue) and to the Auction Rules and Conditions of Sale from respective Breed Societies. The latter Conditions are not so printed but will be displayed in the Sale Premises and available to those purchasers who require them, in booklet form. Settlement And Clearance Of Stock: Settlement in full is due to the Auctioneers immediately at the conclusion of the Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official PASS, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement and all stock should be cleared from the sale premises on the day of the sale. TB PRE-MOVEMENT TESTING All cattle over the age of 41 days moving out of yearly testing herds must be pre-movement tested within 60 days prior to sale. A completed veterinary TB Test Report (TB52) or a veterinary certificate must also accommpany the animals to the market as confirmation of test.

COWS IN MILK Lots 1-24 (24 entries) Over the last two decades Alan Cannon has been a regular consignor at the Border & Lakeland Club sale. The quality of these animals are well documented with satisfied dairy farmers all over the UK. Espland cows and heifers have won Championships, Reserve Champions along with top prices at this monthly event time after time. Strength, Production and Longevity are the three-building block to this fine herd. Alan has decided to disperse the herd as they calve through the Border & Lakeland sale and this is the seconds sale to disperse this super pedigree Holstein herd. Without doubt, one of Cumbria’s finest herds renowned for breeding strong powerful animals that excel in production, longevity and type. The herd is currently averaging 9685kg 3.92%bf & 3.24%p and this first group of 31 are all the most recently calved cows and heifers that are producing just over 40kgs. The BEST sires have been used at Espland for many years and the strength and consistency of the cow families in the herd has been very important. Herd Health: The herd is vaccinated for IBR, BVD, Lepto & Salmonella and are BVD tested free. The farm is situated in a four-year TB testing area and there has never been a TB case on the farm. LISCABANK HEIFERS This is a great opportunity for dairy farmers and breeders to purchase quality genetics. Currently stocking levels at Liscabank is high and unfortunately some grazing land had been lost this year so the decision has been made to sell this excellent group of heifer calves. The Liscabank herd is currently averaging 11956kgs 4.1% 3.2% on three times milking. The herd is housed in cubicles and feed on a grass based TMR. Liscabank has always been about quality built on great cow families and the best Holstein sires. The cow families represented in this consignment include Brookview Tony Charity EX97, Joylan Trudy, A Johns Lucky Barb and A Tora Triple Threat Lulu. Recently the Liscabank hard has sucess in the Lancashire Herd Competition winning the Medium herd Section in 2018 and has place second on serveral occasions. Herd Health: The dams of these heifers are vaccinated for IBR, BVD, Lepto and are BVD tested free. The herd is Johnes tested clear and all the dams of the heifers selling are free of Johnes. All of the heifers calves selling are BVD tested free. The farm is situated in an annual TB testing area, the last herd test was in April 2021 and there has never been a TB case on the farm. LOT
