• • The FNP shelving system unites everything that matters to us at Moormann: consistency, transparency and attitude. The side panels and shelves are stabilised solely in combination with aluminium rails. Thanks to its simple, intelligent design, the FNP supports maximum content with minimum material thickness. And yet it remains light, open and adaptable to a multitude of room layouts. Sometimes it follows sloping ceilings, sometimes it stands alone in the room, at other times the FNP leaves a section free for artwork or windows with a view. Corner solutions can be implemented just as easily as over-door configurations • • • or a room-in-room. The FNP shelving system is modular, expandable at any time and can be fully customised to any special requests.

Just producing furniture? Not really our thing. Moormann is a furniture manufacturer from Aschau im Chiemgau in Upper Bavaria. Or, more precisely, a publisher of furniture ideas. We search for furniture inventions rooted in a unique idea. Sometimes absurd, sometimes genius, sometimes just a detail, sometimes a revolution. To find them, you have to search long and hard, and keep refining them until everything is just right. But sometimes it pays off. Because something is created that we fall in love with. And then we look for people who understand that. Who understand us. The ideas are further developed in the old horse sta• • • bles of the Aschau festival hall until they fit the Moormann collection. On their way from draft to implementation, they naturally acquire our unmistakable signature touch.

HYPER-LOCAL
• • • Our production is strictly local. It all happens within a few kilometres of the old festival hall in Aschau im Chiemgau, at the foot of the Kampenwand mountain. Amidst rugged mountains, lived tradition, stubborn cows and clear vision. The furniture is manufactured at our own carpentry workshop near Lake Chiemsee and by numerous specialised craft businesses in the local area. Short distances, honest craftsmanship, respectful handling of raw materials — this shapes the entire manufacturing process.

• • • • Planning a custom fabrication At Moormann, we truly enjoy thinking beyond the furniture horizon of the modular FNP shelving system. This means we can also produce completely bespoke furniture. With our own carpentry workshop, we can, for example, shorten side panels or shelves to desired dimensions, mill cut-outs for skirting boards or add extra grooves for special shelves. If you require a custom fabrication, we are happy to create a completely individual FNP plan and bring your dream shelf to life.

It takes its content seriously and brings it to the fore without claiming space for itself. • Axel Kufus
•
• • In an experimental prototype workshop, Axel Kufus explored serial production processes for minimalist furniture, which was subsequently acquired by international collections as exemplars of 'New Simplicity'. In the late 1980s, he founded Werkstudio Berlin. In 1993, he accepted a seat as a professor at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This was followed in 2004 by an appointment to the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) at the Institute for Product and Process Design. There, he initiated interdisciplinary formats such as Design-Reaktor, Schwarm-Labor and Campus-Kollisionen. Since 2016, he has been designing interiors for museums in Mannheim, Prague, Hamburg and Berlin.
