2019 Mobile Mammography Screening
The George Washington Breast Cancer Center will make its final visit to NIH for our 2019 Mammography Screening on Thursday, November 20th outside of Bldg. 10 in Lot H. All female NIH employees, their families, contractors, visiting scientists and others associated with NIH are eligible to participate. NIH R&W Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center (KSAC) Corporate Membership
Eligibility for KSAC Corporate Memberships apply to any NIH staff member who has both a valid NIH ID badge, current NIH email address, and a current R&W membership. This offer doesn’t extend to family members. KSAC memberships under this promotion are $150 (savings of over $200), paid by check or cashier’s check. The NIH Values Veterans! Healthy French Toast & French Toast Sticks
INGREDIENTS • 4 slices whole-grain bread or gluten free • 1 teaspoon butter, or coconut oil • 3 large farm fresh eggs • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon DIRECTIONS • Gently cut each slice of bread into 4 'sticks'. Set aside. •
Preheat a griddle over medium heat. Coat with butter or coconut oil.

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and cinnamon.
•
Gently dip each strip of bread into the egg mixture, flipping once to coat evenly. Place on the hot griddle.
•
Cook each french toast stick for 2-3 minutes before flipping.
•
Cook an additional 2-3 minutes on the other-side until the french toast sticks are golden brown.
•
Remove from heat and enjoy! Dip in syrup or your favorite sweet dip, like yogurt!

37th Annual Turkey Chase
The Turkey is Training. Are You? Every Thanksgiving Day for the past 36 years, thousands of runners have gathered in Bethesda to run in the Turkey Chase in support of the YMCA Youth and Family Services, YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase and the B-CC Rotary Club Foundation. Online registration is available by visiting www.turkeychase.com. Join in the fun and participate in the 10km Run, 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk or the 50 Meter Tot Trot. NIH Chamber Singers Present Music of the Seasons
The NIH Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dwight Brock, will celebrate its 25th anniversary with its winter concert series, Music of the Seasons. This selection of choral music will cross many styles, subjects and times including a Canon from the 15th century, a Bach Chorale from the 18th century, numerous folk songs arranged in 20th century styles and several familiar carols, “just for fun” works, as well as Hanukkah cheer to please everyone. The first concert takes place on on Thursday, December 5th in the Bldg. 10 CRC Atrium at 12:30pm. The second concert will take place at the Rockville Nursing Home (303 Adclare Rd., Rockville, MD 20850) on Tuesday, December 10th at 6pm. The next performance will be Saturday, December 14th at 3pm at the Marilyn J. Praisner/Fairland Library (14910 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville, MD). The final concert takes place at 6:30pm at the Twinbrook Library (202 Meadow Hall Drive, Rockville, MD) on Tuesday, December 17th. All concerts are free of charge and open to the public. NIH Philharmonia Orchestra Concert
The orchestra will be performing “Mistaken Identity” on Saturday, Dec. 7th at St. Elizabeth Church in Rockville (917 Montrose Rd. between Rockville Pike and I-270). The concert includes Berlioz - Rakoczy March, Mendelssohn - Symphony No. 3, Shostakovich - Festiva Overture, Tchaikovsky Capriccio Italien. The NIH Community Orchestra & Chorus Winter Concerts
Come enjoy a winter concert presented by the NIH Community Orchestra and Chorus. The concert will take place Sunday, December 8th at 7pm at Cedar Lane Unitarian Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD. This free performance will feature the work of Beethoven, Liszt, Rossini and William Grant Still. This is the 24th year of the Orchestra’s performance of a holiday concert. The performance is sponsored by the NIH R&W and the NIH Charities. There are no tickets however donations are welcome to benefit the NIH Charities. Parking is free and a reception will immediately follow the concert. The NIHCO will also perform Chamber Music at the Library on Saturday, December 14th at 2pm on the 2nd floor of the Montgomery County Library Gaithersburg Branch, 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD.
