Dear Adults, Welcome to your Faith Family Fun discussion guide! Thank you for letting us join you as you encourage your little one(s) to experience the love of Jesus. We hope to offer an enjoyable interactive way for your little one(s) to connect to the beautiful message of the Gospel. As your little one(s) learn about living in an eco-friendly way with their Kids Night In Box, remind them that God left us with a big responsibility of taking care of His creation. God created EVERYTHING: the trees, grass, rocks, soil, animals, leaves, oceans, and rivers—everything we enjoy. Encourage them to remember that by taking good care of God’s creation we are showing our love for Him! Explain that God loves us so much that He not only made us in His image but also trusted us to rule over everything He created.
MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 1:26 (ICB) “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image and likeness. And let them rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky. Let them rule over the tame animals, over all the earth and over all the small crawling animals on the earth.’”
Discussion Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): • • •
What do you think the Bible means when it says we were made in God’s image? Why do you think God chose humans to rule over everything He created? How can we rule over God’s creation in a way that shows our love for Him?
Read Aloud God is the creator of the whole universe, which means he created the Earth that we live on and everything on it. This makes him the “boss” or Lord of the Earth. God created us and He made us in His Image. We are the only creature that God made in His image. To be created in His image means we were made similar to Him. Not only that but it also means we are made to live forever and it is how we can know and love God. God has also given us the honor of caring for all the things He created. God cares for all of us in such a loving way and
we should try to care for His other creations in the same way. Whenever we take good care of God’s creation (people, plants, animals, oceans, etc.), we make Him happy. This is a perfect way to serve God and show Him how much we love Him.
Discussion Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): • • •
What are some ways people can be lazy when it comes to taking care of the Earth? How do you think this makes God feel? Why is “Creator” one of God’s names? What are ways we can take good care of the plants, animals and oceans?
When we try our best to take care of the world we live in, we please God and show Him that we love both Him and His creation. Let’s say our memory verse together one more time.
