The goal was to design an interactive three-floor domestic interior within the pre-existing Lever House in New York City. The interior was defined as a combination of domestic programs. This project explores the relationship between private and public, operability, continuity, orientation, and alignment. It focuses on how intimacy and privacy can be found while encouraging interaction through the incorporation of continuous cabinetry, curvature, built-ins, and biophilic elements.

The final project synthesizes the techniques and concepts covered throughout the course into a single product. This project required the combined use of Rhino elements, Enscape rendering, and illustrator touch-ups. The project is a conceptual interior space within an exterior shell. The result is a hybrid synthesis of two images using Illustrator to merge the individual perspectives into a singular composition. By merging the two perspectives, relationships between depth and flatness, foreground and background are explored.

The focus was to create an interior environment based on the relationship between the body and its surrounding space. My final design followed an organic process that evolved from smaller models until the final product was achieved. Subsequently, the second half of the studio combined three students’ products to create a comprehensive interior environment. For the final presentation, three designs were combined to create an interactive space. My group’s design revolved around creating a student lounge space that could be placed within the Mebane Gallery in Goldsmith Hall. The purpose was to create an interior space where students can relax in between classes or socialize, as seen through the incorporation of both private and public areas within the comprehensive design.

The objective was to investigate the relationship between cinematic techniques and spatial design practices for a hotel room and restaurant. My design was inspired by the movie Blade Runner 2049 and the cinematic techniques of backlit silhouetting, character framing, and using a wide-angle lens. My concept revolves around a hotel, The Mirage, where guests interact with utilitarian holographic figures to solve the building-specific identity mystery game throughout the building, including the restaurant, 2049.
