Our second Newsletter of the term begins on the first day of the October Half Term break....There was no rest for the wicked as we head off for a spooky performance @ Alton Towers!!!
Our Performance Troupe travelled to Alton Towers for the weekend to perform two Halloween based numbers ‘Heads Will Roll’ and ‘This is Halloween’ Miss Nicki and Miss Leonie choreographed two fantastic pieces and the dancers did them justice on stage The costumes looked amazing as did thier performance It was a soggy weekend, but a throughly enjoyable one too! We were very proud of you all
Halloween week
Following on from the success of our summer holiday clubs, we had 4 days of spooky fun as we were joined by over 60 children during the second week of the half term break. We danced, sang, crafted and most importantly had fun with our friends
On the final day we had a Halloween party - we didn’t realise the balloon game could get quite so competitive!
Having been able to announce Matlida’s Mary Poppins journey in our last Newsletter, we were lucky enough to travel down to Bristol, to watch her in her opening night as Jane Banks. Matilda and Wendy were both truly amazing, and many happy tears were shed by us all! We are so proud of you Matilda ( and you too Wendy )
TAPA’s Got Talent began back in 2004 as an exciting opportunity for the young people of TAPA to showcase their creativity and passion It was a chance for them to choreograph their own dances, perform to their favourite songs, and experience the joy of expressing themselves through movement
Over the years, this tradition has grown, becoming a highlight of the TAPA calendar In 2020, the event faced an unexpected challenge with the arrival of COVID-19 Despite the restrictions, we adapted, taking TAPA’s Got Talent online That virtual edition became a truly memorable moment, with audiences from around the world joining via Zoom to cheer on our talented performers However, nothing can replace the energy, excitement, and joy of performing in front of a live, supportive audience
TAPA’s Got Talent isn’t just about the performances you see on stage Behind the scenes, we witness something extraordinary in our weekly classes We see young people stepping into leadership roles, listening to one another, embracing bold ideas, and discovering their creative voices These moments of growth when confidence and individuality shine are as important as the performances themselves
The process of preparing for TAPA’s Got Talent is unique It challenges our students to be brave, to create, and to share their work with others They become leaders, good listeners and learn the joy of team work As teachers, we guide them with music and timing, but the brilliance you see on stage comes from their talent, effort, and courage
To perform is brave To perform your own work is even braver And to stand up and have your work judged takes the ultimate courage

Hayes Lights 2024
What can we say about the Hayes Lights switch on other than thank you and well done to those of you who turned up to brave the storm! It was not the busiest day the TAPA PA stall had ever seen, as most people sensibly sheltered inside The George! Despite the atrocious weather, our wonderful PA members lasted the afternoon, soaked to the skin, but always with a smile on thier faces - We are pretty sure the mulled wine helped! Thank you Kathy, Katie, Kelly and Mukti!!! Our BTC singers sounded beautiful - it was just a shame there were not more people around to hear you. Thank you to parents, for bringing them along to be part of what is usually a lovely event - it is never particularly warm, but let’s hope it is a little drier next year!
Thank YOU for helping us support others
It has been a exceptional term for pulling together as part of the TAPA community, and supporting those around us, and for this we need to say a HUGE
We began with our collection towards Bromley Brighter Beginnings Christmas In A Bag campaign 1 Alongside Bromley Valley Gymnastics Centre we collected over 150 bottles of shampoo and conditioner for families that need a little extra help this Christmas
Then of course it was the most comfortable week of our year - PJ week for Children In Need - raising £517!!!!!! Finally we have been collecting for Bromley Food Bank over the last couple of weeks, donations being taken to Hayes Free Church each Friday
Now that we have our permanent home, being involved in community life is something we look forward to doing more of x

Theatre Company and Theatre Class Performances
Last week, 7 of the Theatre Companies/Classes performed their Christmas shows to friends and family
The Mini’s did their own version of “Toy Story” with an incredibly impressive amount of effort put into their costumes as well as their performances (the first time on stage with BTC for many!) The Junior and Pre-Junior 1 Classes performed brand new pieces entitled “The Year Santa Got Mixed Up” and “Bryony the Christmas Tree” Every actor was absolutely fantastic and totally brought these shows to life. The Pre-Junior 2 Class put on a stage version of “Trolls” and not only did they have super creative, colourful costumes, their performances were equally as spectacular!
The Junior Company performed an abridged version of “Annie” where they tackled a complex script and huge musical numbers and they smashed it! They worked together beautifully as a company and brought a bit of Broadway to Hayes on a very windy, wet morning
Next up were the Pre-Inters who performed an immersive walk-around performance of “The Muppets Christmas Carol” The Company worked together to create a truly magical, unforgettable experience for the audience.
I was totally captivated by each of their performances and the journey they took us on.
Lastly, the Inters performed “Mamma Mia Mania!” and every single one of them fully embodied their characters I was seriously impressed by their professionalism, bravery and command of the stage
Congratulations to all BTC students, I am so proud of you all.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next BTC show “Into the Woods” performed by the Seniors in 2025
Josie led a group of our fantastic young performers as they sang for the residents of the Pittsmead
Grange Care Home on Saturday 14th December It was a absolute joy to see the delight on the residents faces and something we hope to be able to be part of again in the future
We hope you managed a little time for yourselves whilst we had so much festive fun on Sunday We made reindeer food, decorated festive bisuits, danced, played so many games, and even had a visit from one of Santa’s elves Your children were a pleasure to spend the day with!
Exciting times for Alex!
Alex Neophytou has just started his run in the UK and Ireland Tour of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! He has opened in Edinburgh but will be nearer to home next year - when we will be sure to pop along to see him shine. Huge congratulations Alex - we are so so proud of you!!!
It has been the busiest of terms, but we have made it to the end with lots of fabulous new memories made Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year with love from Nicki, and everyone at TAPA xxx
