Program Details
The Family Nurse Practitioner advanced certificate allows a nurse practitioner in another speciality to expand their practice role and care for individuals across the lifespan as a primary care provider. Building upon previous experience, this specialized program provides comprehensive training in primary care, equipping nurses with the skills to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions. It enhances clinical decision-making, leadership, and patient advocacy skills while preparing graduates It enhances clinical decisionmaking, leadership,and patient advocacy skills while preparing graduates to sit for the FNP national board certification offered by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
• Clinical rotations for domestic students secured directly by the College of Nursing, with advisement for Canadian students • Hybrid coursework to meet the needs of working professionals • Low Residency: 1 day on campus per week
