Kemptville District Hospital [KDH] is receiving almost $1 million in increased funding from the Government of Ontario. The funds amount to $934,500, a 4% increase on previous years. This funding is part of a $1.1 billion investment into the hospital sector as part of Budget 2026, A Plan to Protect Ontario, which represents an overall 4% increase in annual support for the fourth year in a row. "From the day our government took office, hospital funding has been a priority, particularly those like Kemptville District that serve patients in small towns and rural communities," said Steve Clark, MPP
for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. "I'm a proud advocate for our local hospitals and I welcome this continued investment in services for patients and the frontline healthcare workers that deliver them." These investments will support the operations of core clinical services in Kemptville so they can better meet patient needs. This includes funding to help keep their emergency departments open, support inflationary or other wage pressures, and reduce wait times for diagnostic imaging and surgical procedures so that people can connect to care faster.

"These funds enable us to deliver safe, high-quality care to our patients, and continue to meet the growing demand for care across all age groups." "Our government is making historic investments to protect Ontario's healthcare system, ensuring that more people in Leeds and Grenville can connect to the care they need, where and when they need it," said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health.

"This investment will allow Kemptville District Hospital to continue delivering the highest standard of care while reducing wait lists and wait times for patients and families, for generations to come." Over the next 10 years, the province is investing approximately $64 billion in major health infrastructure. This includes plans to begin work on more than fifty major hospital projects across the province, which will deliver approximately 3,000 new hospital beds.
