NEXT Distro Position: Operations Director Compensation: $70,000 with 100% employer sponsored health insurance Reports to the Executive Director Location: Remote role, United States with an in-person option if in the NYC area Overview Next Harm Reduction aka NEXT Distro “NEXT'' is an online and mail-based harm reduction program working to provide resources to people who use drugs that cannot access in-person services. NEXT operates in 30+ states through the partnership of in-state affiliates whose resources vary. Our goal is to support people who use drugs who cannot access in-person harm reduction services. NEXT will be hiring an Operations Director to lead the development and maintenance of NEXT’s organizational infrastructure. The Operations Director will be coming into the organization at a dynamic time of growth and will provide support during the Executive Director’s leadership transition. We are looking for someone who is a smart, savvy, and a focused strategic thinker interested in building and managing teams. Responsibilities ● Support cohesion, efficiency, and harmony among multiple departments and diverse team members within the organization through the creation of organization work plans that includes visioning and buy-in across the organization; maintenance and updating of work plans. ● Oversee administrative functions including compliance with all funding and grant requirements including timely submission of reports, contributions to grant writing and fund development efforts. ● Represent the organization as appropriate with funders, stakeholders, and affiliate organizations. ● With the support of a Human Resources professional, manage NEXT’s human resource functions including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, compensation, benefits, training and professional development, and administration of our online payroll system and personnel paperwork management. ● Work with the Executive Director, staff, board and stakeholders to build NEXT’s strategic roadmap, leading a consensus process to identify goals and objectives and outlining operational plans to achieve those goals. ● Proactively identify internal opportunities and challenges (operations, team building, communication) and work with the leadership team to address them. ● Lead or oversee the management of projects that support organizational growth. ● Oversee organization-wide internal communications including support for staff meetings and quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors. ● Manage NEXT’s physical space needs when necessary. This includes overseeing our sublease and the future expansion of physical space. ● Represent and act on behalf of the Executive Director when necessary. ● Other duties as assigned. Requirements ● Commitment to NEXT’s mission and values, passionate about the field of harm reduction with an understanding of harm reduction’s history as a movement, belief in drug user health and right of bodily autonomy, and intrinsic understanding of the importance of open access of resources
