Fog, Emma Harris

EMMA HARRIS, 11 She walks amongst the pale fog, Into a land where her vision is skewed, The difference between the ocean & the sky, It cannot be viewed, And between her emotions & her eye, There is no relationship, not even a feud.

She watches her footsteps as she leaves them behind, Walks backwards to see impressions made into the sand, She cannot see, but she isn’t blind, She knows what is done & why, But can’t tell her direction from the place she currently stands.

She says truth is a pearl, And her eyes are submerged under the ocean, But her feet are confi ned to walking on beaches, And she is left with a desperate, undefi nable moment.
