Envy, Poppy McCauley
POPPY MCCAULEY, 9 i envy the feeling of completion. the book closing, the clack of the keys stopping. stagnant, silence, peace. i struggle to close my sentences exclaiming to the crowd of my mind, fi lled with jesters, and kings, and executioners. “there’s so much left to say! there is a myriad of words and phrases thoughts and endless emotions fl owing out of my mouth like a faucet. please don’t turn the tap off!” .. drip drip drip. silence. the sink closes again, waiting to turn to rust and creaks. it’s envy.
isn’t it? or am i just longing for something more something more than the hunger for life. i’m tired of starving. i need a glass of water, please turn on the faucet.
