Crossing at Tiri opens ahead of schedule THE temporary river crossing at Tiri has opened ahead of schedule. Local traffic was allowed through on Saturday 21 March, two months earlier than planned. A 5-tonne load limit applies, which means trucks and larger vehicles will continue using alternative routes via Gloucester and Wingham. Three of the six spans of the Tiri Bridge were destroyed in the extreme floods of May 2025. The road had been closed since then. “The earlier than expected opening is thanks to a prompt delivery of materials,” said Council's Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services Rob Scott. “[This] allowed our
