Great Miami Rowing Center (GMRC), based in Hamilton, Ohio, is a nonprofit rowing club for youth and adults. GMRC fosters teamwork, discipline and a love for the sport of rowing through our junior varsity, varsity and master’s programs Our teams are competitive, but we love to have fun
Our team motto “Rise Up” inspires us to always work as a team so everyone can achieve at their greatest potential
We welcome youth and adults of all abilities from Greater Cincinnati to row with us on the beautiful Great Miami River Our location offers us nearly 3,000 meters of calm water, free of commercial traffic, with beautiful views of the city of Hamilton skyline
GMRC is not affiliated with any school or school system Our youth athletes represent more than 20 local schools, both public and private.

GMRC rowers have gone on to compete in college and beyond, both nationally and internationally
Malachi Anderson and Carter Pence, Class of ’23 and ‘24 competed at Youth Nationals in Sarasota in 2023. The pair finished third in the U19 double.
Becca Kraft, Class of ‘25 has been awarded a full scholarship to row at Alabama beginning in the 20252026 season
Our organization is guided by dedicated coaches and a committed Board of Directors who together fuel growth both on and off the water
Our coaching team inspires athletes to discover new passions, build skills, and grow in confidence, while the Board lends its vision and expertise to strengthen connections between rowing and the broader Hamilton community.

In 2024, Great Miami Rowing Center saw significant growth in both the junior varsity and adult programs. Both teams nearly doubled in size through concentrated advertising and recruitment efforts.
Celebrating our growth, while recognizing the need for continued investment, GMRC leased a new indoor training space in downtown Hamilton to offer enhanced indoor training opportunities for our teams, as well as the ability to offer year-round programming to the community through a new CardioRow program
In addition to new indoor training facilities, significant team growth means GMRC must secure additional boats for our fleet to allow for training of new rowers, while ensuring competition boats are not damaged
