to the 11th Annual Nevada City Film Festival, four fun-filled days of independent dramas, comedies, documentaries and animation from around the world! Filmmakers and celebrity guests, premieres, after-parties, general merry-making and more! It’s no secret that we love film and filmmakers. They provide us with escape and entertainment; inspire us with heart-felt stories and breath taking imagery; and give us a reason to come together in a shared, and often times, powerful, life changing experience. From swimming in the mighty Yuba River by day to watching films at night, we hope you thoroughly enjoy your weekend in Nevada City.
the Nevada City Film Festival (NCFF): NCFF began as a film festival created by filmmakers for filmmakers. Since 2001, NCFF has brought top independent cinema to the foothills of Northern California. Combining stellar programming of short and full length films, great audiences and a truly festive environment makes NCFF one of the most innovative, exciting, and fun events on the west coast.

Festival Awards This year, we received over 400 film submissions from around the world. Our program committee narrowed those down to 60+ films to show during the film festival. From those 60+ films, the festival directors suggested a dozen films for award consideration to our Festival Judges. Our Festival Judges decided the winners of Best of the Fest, Best Documentary, Best Comedy, Best Drama, and Best Experimental. Winner of Best of the Fest will receive a $1500 cash prize. Don’t miss the Jury Awards, Saturday, August 20th at 9:45pm right before our Comedy Show at the Miners Foundry.
Audience Awards This is your chance to vote for your favorite film at the festival! You’ll receive a ballot with your ticket. Ballot boxes are at each venue. The Winner will receive a $500 cash prize. The Winner will be announced Sunday, August 21st at 5pm at the Miners Foundry.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online and or in person at the NCFF Office at 240 Commercial Street, Suite B, Nevada City CA, from noon until 6pm M-F. During the festival, tickets should be purchased online or at the Main Box Office. This year’s box office is conveniently located at the Miners Foundry, 325 Spring Street, Nevada City. For your convenience during festival weekend, tickets to any film can be purchased or picked up at ALL venues. Credit cards will be accepted only at the Main Box office at the Miners Foundry. From Sacramento: Take I-80 east to Auburn. Exit in Auburn at Hwy 49 towards Grass Valley & Nevada City. Follow 49 about 26 miles to Grass Valley & Nevada City. Go past Grass Valley and into Nevada City. Exit Broad Street and turn left over the freeway.
Most parking in downtown Nevada City is off street parking and metered Mon - Sat with a 3-hour limit. 4-hour Parking Lots are located at the Nevada Street Municipal Lot, Spring Street Municipal Lot, Commercial Street Municipal Lot, Miners Foundry, County Courthouse Parking (weekends only) off Washington Street and the Nevada City Veterans Hall off Cottage Street.
