Welcome We are so excited to have you join us for the 8th annual Duck Race and Festival. Your support is saving the lives of thousands of homeless pets. Nevada Humane Society (NHS) is one of the oldest nonprofits in Northern Nevada. It was founded in 1932 and has been in continuous operation since that time. In 2008, NHS moved into a new facility with state-ofthe-art animal shelters and a full-service veterinary clinic. In 2015, we expanded to add a second shelter in Carson City. Today, NHS directly serves the RenoSparks metropolitan area, unincorporated Washoe County and Carson City County, and intermittently serves surrounding rural communities in Nevada and eastern California. Last year, NHS took in 11,572 animals which were abandoned, feral, injured, or sick. With the support you are giving us by attending our Duck Race, we hope to save more lives than ever.

If there are ducks that haven’t yet been adopted on August 21, you can adopt at the Duck Race & Festival at Wingfield Park. Adoptions will be offered from 11 a.m. when the Festival begins until all ducks are adopted or about one hour before the 4 p.m. Duck Race – whichever comes first.
