In the June/July 2026 issue of Leading Architecture + Design we explore the tasting room at Paserene Wine Farm by Etienne Stols and Associates, designed around the biology of a bird. At the new Stadio University Campus in Durbanville, BPAS Architects set out to create a living, breathing community of learning. In the small coastal enclave of Hartenbos on the Garden Route, Moolman Group, in partnership with Dorpstraat and Organic Coral Developments, drew on the surrounding landscape for the design of a new lifestyle centre, Garden Walk Mall. Still on the subject of retail infrastructure, Prince Buthelezi Mall in Empangeni by MDS Architecture is an accessible development that reflects the character of its context. Last but not least we examine the reimagined Nobu Restaurant at the One&Only Hotel in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront by dhk Interior Design, in collaboration with New York-based Rockwell Group.
